how to delete your post?

How can I delete a post that I started?

If you go to the thread and click the edit button on the message you want to delete. On the next page that comes up, above the space for the text of the message is a checkbox that says "delete message" or something to that effect. and then click the button to the right of that checkbox and the post will be deleted.

If you started a thread and delete that first message I think the whole thread is deleted, but DON'T quote me on that

If you start a thread and there are any replies, you can't delete it. Also, if you are using Netscape, the delete function does not work.

If you have trouble deleting, contact a moderator of that board. They can help you with deleting threads.

But

Note: deleting this post will result in the deletion of the entire thread if this post is the first post in the thread.

This statement is what lead me to the belief I had.
