Hi! This will be our 4th trip since 2013, but I haven't planned a trip since 2017 and I feel like I'm forgetting all my trip planning knowledge! Months ago I had planned out which days we'd do what do I'd be ready for FP booking. Well, I lost that book with all that planning, so when my FP window opened, I just grabbed what I could. But I snagged FPs for almost every day except arrival and departure days and I'm left feeling stumped as to how to decide which days are best for TL/BB/Universal. Any tips for me? Thanks for reading :)

Any day for a water park is fine. I’d try to avoid weekends for Universal.

Water parks are only hard in that you really have to watch the weather. I try to set a day for them, but I know that when I get down to Florida, if there's a rain day, the plans must shift.

Also, we never do a full day at the water park. We don't feel it's necessary. So I've historically gone to the water park at opening and they stayed until 2:00pm at the lastest. Go back to the room and change and then hit another park (in which I may have dinner within that park) and stay for the evening.

If you want to do a water park and then Universal, you will end up needing to get rid of the FPs you have for those days and try to work them into other days. As long as you use refresh down at the parks, you should be able to get most of what you want.

I have a trip coming up in November and we want to do a water park and Universal so I'm having the same thoughts as you. It all goes out the window for the water parks if the weather isn't good.

We went to the waterparks on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in June and it was not crowded at all! We never waited more than 10 min for any slide. We did both parks the same day and were able to do almost every attraction between 9-4PM :)
I was worried that being a weekend and super warm it would be packed, so it was a nice surprise!

We don't do water parks, so I can't help you there. But, we always do Universal in the middle of the trip. We like to hit Disney first thing, and we also like to finish with Disney. So, with a rest day built in, Universal kind of schedules itself for us.
