How to behave at WDW

Okay, I've been on the Dis for a little while now, and the more I read, the more anxious I'm getting about our upcoming trip. I wonder if we will be able to behave in an acceptable manner on our trip. I've discovered from reading:

1. Some people will judge us if I get a table while DH grabs the burgers.
2. If we wait for a bus with a seat people will judge us if we don't offer our seat to someone who dases on at the last moment with several children and a stroller.
3.We should not stop anywhere in the park to look at our map. (Park not okay, after eating and monopolyzing a precious CS table, not okay.) Maybe read while in the bathroom? :rotfl2: Eew :crazy2:
4. From reading some threads many people do not wash hands after using the restroom (maybe they were reading their map?), yet buffets are prevelant? (If you don't get it, think about it)

I am a very conscientious person, but I am starting to get a bit overwhelmed by all of this...(maybe sign I am on Dis too often) :rolleyes1

Let the games begin...

when you get rammed by a stroller of an overenthusiastic parent, just turn around and smile at them ....
OH..and also, when the group of loud cheerleaders led by the cheer mom who is attempting to look 12 again herself all start chanting on a ride and you get off and can't hear for an hour, thank them and tell them you were long overdue for an ear bleeding! LOL
Sorry..just having fun......
:rotfl2:

:rotfl: Oh I know, I found it funny and I agree on some of what people were venting about.....but the way I've come to see it, people need to chill out when they go to Disney, enjoy the moments, live and enjoy the time with their loved ones. Sure there's going to be idiots and rude people. The trick is to learn to deal with them with a smile, and boy that's hard sometimes, but I won't let people ruin my vacations. And besides, if there weren't so many rude people , who would we have to talk about? :rotfl:

Be sure to bring all your registration papers to the resort pool so you can prove to everyone you aren't "pool hopping"! :teeth:

I have also wanted to ask why the mug thing is such an issue but have been terrified of being flamed (I know it is Disney policy, I just don't understand the intense debate)...Since it is my first trip and I don't own a mug yet, I don't have to debate this ethical diliema...My friend told me I could borrow hers, and I declined, if I had accepted and posted that I'm sure it would have opened a gigantic can of worms.

Really, the mug issue isn't that big a deal. The worst thing that would happen is a cast member would remind you very nicely that your mug was for the duration of your previous stay only, but they wouldn't drag you by the ear to a sink and make you pour it out. Just be prepared to buy one, just in case, but if she's offering you a loaner, why not? It's not like it's taking legitimate soda away from the other guests. :rotfl:

You know, I was prepared to be annoyed by a lot of these behaviors on our trip last week, but I really didn't notice things so much this trip. I actually got more of a kick out of watching other people freak out-- it made me calm down. At Fantasmic, the people next to us seemed really stressed when they got there-- complaining about the crowds, the food, the ignorance of some people-- I handed them a couple of glow bracelets with a big smile, and it totally turned them around. Bring some magic with you and spread it around. That way, you'll have some karma in the bank for the times you have to stop dead in your tracks to look at some amazing thing! pixiedust:

Act like you wish other people would act.

Be considerate of others, and don't automatically blame the CMs for anything that may go wrong.

Common courtesy, common sense...both should prevail. Then you will be fine.

And if you need to study your map, just move over to the side of the street so that you're not blocking everyone's forward momentum! Have a great trip! :teeth:

Going to WDW is a lot like driving in traffic. Some people see imaginery insults and "rude" behaviors around every corner while others notice "nada". All that matters is that you know your motives are pure, and not whether some busy-body approves of whether you hold tables, sit on buses, or whatever.

Have a great trip!

Don't give any of those things a second thought. Go enjoy yourself. Have a blast. Some people are just too darn critical and have nothing better to do but judge others. This is something that I am starting to hate. If people would just chill out and just enjoy the magic of WDW everyone could have a great time. I am to the point I don't care one bit what anyone else thinks. As I have said on other threads its their problem not mine.

I for one am amused by the table savers. I do agree seats should be made available for the people who already have food. But there are so many people at disney the whole park would be a sea of tables for those that purchase food at disney and those that bring their own.

I am getting used to eating cold food at Disney. I think they should only serve cold food as by the time U get to a table to eat it is cold anyway. Maybe a waiting line for the tables. We could all stand in line with our tray of food and get the next available table. Just like the TS restaurants. :duck:

Now dont forget those screaming kids. I mean to bring a child to disney. Who would have thought this would become the norm.

I usually go alone with my DS now 7. I have now gotten in the habit of eating at off times to avoid the wandering with a tray of food for a table to eat.

Evidence that solutions are readily available. But complaining is so much more fun! :)

I have my own code ethics and I figure that I have to look at my self in the mirror each night so it all works out. I've worked out all these issues with myself, know what I would and wouldn't do and things all seem to work out. Oh, and I "never say never" because I don't know what the future holds. :teeth: I know that I would never do anything against the law or against my ethics or morals, but other than that what I think I might not do now, I might find myself doing tomorrow, which is why I try hard to not pass judgement on others.

Hey...I'm not there to make friends. I have enough of them. And some of them I have to keep an eye on at all times.

If you cut in front of me in line, and I don't hamstring you with my son's stroller, are you ever really going to learn manners?

Hey, what's wrong with holding a CS table while someone else is getting your food? We did this on our last trip. No one seemed upset. If they were, they were just mad that they didn't think of it themselves.

Oh, you'll see it all and more at WDW but don;t fret. Everybody screws up according to someone while they are there. You can't please all the people all the time. You can't please DISers anytime!

Do what you are comfy with. I give my bus seat up often but I'm choosy about who I give it too. DH saved me a table all the time last trip, would I have noticed someone watching us? No way, it is too busy and crazy in those eating places. DH had elbow surgery and couldn't even carry his own tray so I would have dared somebody to say something to me.

You'll see it all down there. You almost can't act or dress in a way that would be too shocking.
I hope you enjoy your trip!!!
