How to behave at WDW

I have also wanted to ask why the mug thing is such an issue but have been terrified of being flamed (I know it is Disney policy, I just don't understand the intense debate)...Since it is my first trip and I don't own a mug yet, I don't have to debate this ethical diliema...My friend told me I could borrow hers, and I declined, if I had accepted and posted that I'm sure it would have opened a gigantic can of worms.

You can find out about the mugs by searching the forums.

This is what Message Boards about IMO: You are either looking for imformation or looking for an enjoyable way to pass the time & relax.

My idea of whats enjoyable & MRS so & so's idea may not be the same. Some people come here to steal energy from others. Some come & give energy .

HAHA. This reminds me of my band trip last week to WDW. We were in EPCOT walking to meet the band to leave. There was a woman behind us with a stroller (one of those hard park kind, not a soft kind.) She ran into me with the stroller. It hurt really bad. So I turned and looked at her. She glared at me. I said, in a fairly loud voice, "Oh boy, the game of bumper strollers has begun." LOL. Then she went around our group and a said to a friend of mine who she almost ran into. "Watch out, this lady behind you is gonna run you over like she did me." She just glared at us and sped off, probably to attack more innocent teenagers with her vicious game. LOL.

Hey I did not know saving a table was against the rules :confused3

Ive been to Diseny about 13 times. When we go I always save a table while my husband waits in line for the food. The only time I dont do it is when the place is fairly empty.
Plus sometimes the kids just need to sit and relax a bit, so I never thought it was wrong to save a table.

IMO that is totally stupid. Why should everyone have to stand in line to order the food? DH and I usually get the food and DDs hold the table and relax. I never noticed anyone getting upset and if they did again as I always say that is their problem. We aren't doing anything wrong.

I found it easy. I just decided I didn't give a crap what anybody else thought.

I've never seen this on the boards? It's new to me. I have seen people complaining about people who bring thier own food into the parks & eat them at a counter service table.

One of the funniest experiences with people complaining without proper reason was this:
We went to IllumiNations at EPCOT about 30 minutes before it started. Some people were sitting on the floor about 6 or 8 feet from the railing at the lake. So we sat down directly in front of the railing. Immediately those people started complaining about us daring to occupy that space? :confused3
They really expected everyone to keep that space free  We simply chose to ignore them and started speaking German and pretended not to understand English ;)
And even better: The gap between those weirdoes and filled shortly after we arrived.

1. Some people will judge us if I get a table while DH grabs the burgers.
2. If we wait for a bus with a seat people will judge us if we don't offer our seat to someone who dases on at the last moment with several children and a stroller.
3.We should not stop anywhere in the park to look at our map. (Park not okay, after eating and monopolyzing a precious CS table, not okay.) Maybe read while in the bathroom? :rotfl2: Eew :crazy2:
4. From reading some threads many people do not wash hands after using the restroom (maybe they were reading their map?), yet buffets are prevelant? (If you don't get it, think about it)
Let the games begin...

Don't forget to smile sweetly :teeth: when another family decides to sit down right in front of you for the parade, even though you've been sitting for 30mins so your DD2 could have a good view. :scratchin

Now we have a new and even more ridiculous peeve to worry about!

:lmao:

Are you ready for this???

:lmao:

Now we're supposed to be able to tell if someone has to pee worse than us in line to the ladies room and let them go ahead of us!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Seems we need a gotta-go-pee-pee crystal ball to be able to visit WDW now. Anyone know where I can find one?

How about a little pee-pee dance? Gotta go gotta go gotta go right now!

:lmao: LOL. A little off topic and probably TMI, but I so had to go to the bathroom last trip. We were on the bus (band trip, so we had a chartered bus) heading to DTD. We had gone to a Japanese Steakhouse before and got lost. We drove around Orlando for like an hour before we found it. I had to pee so bad and I just had these visions of getting lost...AGAIN. I was so doing "the dance" in my seat. So anyways, we get to DTD and I remembered where the bathrooms were!!! (that was my 13th trip so I know just about where every single bathroom is) So I'm sprinting through the parking lot in high heels to West Side. I get onto the sidewalk right next to Virgin Records and I just freeze. I yelled "Oh shoot, I forget where the bathrooms are". So I start running in a circle trying to remember which way they were. I ran into Virgin Recordse and ran up to the front desk. The cashier there was taking her good old time ringing somebody up while I was doing the dance and my friends were behind me laughing at me. She finally finishes and VERY SLOWLY explains to me where the bathrooms are. So I go over to the escalators and these people get on before us. They just stand in the middle, so yet again, I am left to do "the dance" and wait. I swear that was the longest escalator ride in my life. So then we get to the top finally and I can't find the bathrooms, so I'm spinning around in a circle trying to find the sign. I finally find it and sprint over to it. I never had to go to the bathroom so bad in my life. As we are coming out, there is a herd of about 20 other girls form the band walking in. They had to go about as badly as I did. LOL. Kinda funny now, but it was severe torture at the time.

Maybe read while in the bathroom?

Do not...I repeat--DO NOT!--read while in the bathroom. Those lines are long enough! Be considerate and simply do your business and get out! There is no reason in the world to hog up time in a stall just so you can try to figure out where you are. Who do you think you are, anyway? Some special park guest? :lmao:

Seriously, go and have fun. Who cares what other people think? You'll never see them again. If they want to spend their vacation worrying about you--so be it. Just don't spend yours worrying about them.

Ya know, when I go to WDW, it's to get away from people. Now, I know that sounds funny since there are so many people there. But, really, we do our thing, really don't have too much direct interaction with other people. I thing we talk to CMs more than to other guests.

So, I don't know who these people are that are judging "me" so much. I'm not talking to them. They should just mind their own business.

I wash my hands. I try to be courteous just like I would ANYWHERE. I get a table while DH gets the food. We even get a double cheeseburger with fries & split it. (GASP!!!!) LOL We eat/snack several times a day while in the park; and we don't like to fill up on 2 cheeseburgers & throw out all those extra fries. I don't pool hop. Never bought a refillable mug.

Enjoy your vacation. Follow rules (moral & written). Be yourself. And don't worry about what so many other internet people say.

:rotfl: Oh I know, I found it funny and I agree on some of what people were venting about.....but the way I've come to see it, people need to chill out when they go to Disney, enjoy the moments, live and enjoy the time with their loved ones. Sure there's going to be idiots and rude people. The trick is to learn to deal with them with a smile, and boy that's hard sometimes, but I won't let people ruin my vacations. And besides, if there weren't so many rude people , who would we have to talk about? :rotfl:
:offtopic:
Sorry my post here is going to be totally off topic but I just had to say hi to a fellow Cherry Capitol of the World girl.

I live in Lake Ann, about 20 minutes from Traverse City. Of course we are there all the time to do all our running around since there is nothing in Lake Ann, and my DH works at Munson.

I just saw your location and got so excited because all the MI people I have talked to so far on the DIS tend to live in the lower part down near Detroit.
Have you signed up in our Michigan DISers thread?
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=975829&highlight=Michigan

Well, I just wanted to say hi and if you ever feel like talking to a "neighbor" who's also a Disney fan feel free to PM me or hunt me down here on the community board where I usually am.

Okay everyone you can have your thread back now. :)
