How to be an imagineer

I'm not sure I'm on the right board to be posting this but, does anyone know how you become an imagineer? (What majors, minors, degrees help you get the job..What's the Salary, How do you apply, etc.) Any info would be greatly appreciated!

This is more of a community board question. I can tell you that many imagineers have graduated from CalArts. Some have degrees in engineering, some have degrees in art, some don't even have degrees.

If you go to the Disney Corporate Site and look under careers you can search imagineer openings. Checking the requirements for the jobs they have posted may give you some idea of tracks you could follow.

They say that they hire almost every profession you can think of, but I'm sure there are some that are more easy to get a job with than others.

When I was in Disney this past November, I met with three imagineers and I got a really good answer from one of them. He said that definitely one major to not major in is graphic design. He said that SOOOO many people apply with that profession and they are all incredibly talented. He recommended a liberal field such as theatre design and lighting. My dream is to be an imagineer too. I think it would be an incredible career.
