How to add ride photos to MB's? do you still stop at photo counter?

I just read that those who have linked their MM to the MDE and go on a ride with a phote ( like Buzz) don't have to stop at the photo counter to scan the band. How does that work? Do you scan the band when you get in line? I know if you have a FP that you have to scan you band in that line but do they scan all the bands in the regular line?

We leave in 3 weeks and I want to make sure that I know what I'm doing. I like the idea of saving time and not having to stop, just not sure how it is working now.

thanks for any help.

recently back, they added this feature on our last 2 days in the parks... You don't have to do anything it automatically shows up! There must be some real magic in those bands lol

we were skeptical, and checked once we got back to our room on our laptop, and sure enough they were all there... out of our 8 park days, we were only missing one photo showing up on ToT. That was our first day and we still had to stop and add.

It was sortof a pain to do that after each ride, so this added feature is GREAT!

There is a long range transmitter in the MagicBand. This transmitter is battery powered and should last about 3 years. Disney has installed equipment that can read the MagicBand from a distance and uses that to automatically link attraction photos to your MyDisneyPhotoPass.com account. This automatic linking is currently only for those that have purchase the MemoryMaker package.

Isn't technology amazing? This will be great to not have to go up to the counter.

Do the pictures show up right away on your account? If we were to come off a ride and check the MDE website would the pictures be there already? I am very nervous about this. I have this fear that I'm paying for MM and then I will have no ride photos when I get home:scared: I'm not real tech savy so all this new stuff scares me!!

I was surprised when I went of Friday and this was going on. I had read that it was in the works but did not know it was active until we were the first people to ride Space Mountain at rope drop. That was June 7th. Anyone have their photos added automatically earlier than June 7th. I would love to have the fame and acclaim to be the first guest to ever have their photos "zapped into their wrist band while moving on a ride." :cool1:

I had a photo from Buzz Lightyear automatically added to my photopass account back in November during MVMCP. I hadn't purchased any photo packages, so I suspect they were testing the equipment back then.

We got back last night and all my photos are there. My brother is linked to my MM and I can tell you while I am sitting at home that he has just rode Space Mountain twice and Buzz Lightyear's this morning because they are in my Photos now.:thumbsup2

Awesome new feature! It was such a pain in May to stop and add the pics to the MB, especially on the rides where we had 4 or 5 pics for our group.

OMG, my thoughts exactly! I was sitting here with sweaty palms thinking I just paid $149 for this, what if I get home and have a bunch of strangers ride photos? Or none at all? I have such a hard time giving up control to technology......:rotfl: I also sit here sweating that once I book my FP+, they are stored in cyber world someplace and if they disappear....I'm out of luck. At least when I book an ADR I have a reservation number. Oh this is going to really mess with my OCD.......but if it works is amazing.

It all works and it is amazing. :wizard: I just got back last night. :( I want to go back.

We also were in WDW back in November and ride photos showed up on our photopass without us stopping at the photo booth. It was a great surprise.

we were told it can take up to 48 hours to show up, but that was never the case.. I could not for the life of me figure out who to view any photos on the app on my phone... could only look online once we got back to our room via the laptop at the end of the day.

So the ride photos appear on Photopass even if you are not purchasing the MemoryMaker package?

For Photopass, do you still just have the photographer scan your Magic Band?

And then for ride photos it automatically appears on Photopass?

Also, can you use Photopass at character meals?

Sorry for all the questions, we haven't used Photopass much the last few times we were in WDW.

Now does this work forever after you've bought a Memory Maker package, or only during the days of your resort stay connected to the package? They need to offer a Florida resident/passholder package that's good for the year or something.

My MM is linked to MDE and it says it is "Assigned" to me. We are bringing down my parents in addition to my DS. If we were to ride Buzz with us in one car and my folks behind us, would their photo get linked to the account since it is assigned to me?

This feature was active on my May 23rd to May 29th trip but I didn't know it. We stopped at the counter after each ride and now have 2 of each ride photo in our Memory Maker photo album.

Surprised that this announcement is just coming out. Maybe they were still testing on our trip.

Everyone designated as in your party gets their ride photos added. My son went single rider on several rides and his photos appear in our album.

that is funny, we were there from may 27th-June 4th in the parks, only found out about the not having to stop on our last 2 days... but now that I am looking at our photos we too have duplicates of all the ride photos... funny
