How Strict is.....

First Choice with hand luggage, we have found cases that are 46x35x21, and the brochure says 45x35x20, has anyone taken the chance and been told their luggage has to go in the hold.

It depends on the check in person, some of them are very strict. When I went to Mexico with them my friend had a small, light suitcase as handluggage and it was under the size and weight limit but they wouldnt let her take it bcos it had wheels, we tried to argue it but they were really strict. When we got to the gate tho loads of people had them as another check in person didnt care about the wheels! I cant imagine they will care about one inch tho, I doubt they will even measure it.

When we were coming back from Sanford, they weighed our hand luggage. Didn't see everybody's hand luggage being weighed though!!

I thought the check in staff just worked for the airport and were not specifically linked to travel companies. Anyway, going to Orlando this year our hand luggage was looked at. I had made sure it was the right size and weighed them, some were borderline on the 5 kg weight allowance. Coming home the hand luggage was weighed along with the hold luggage.

We've noticed that if it looks heavy then they will weigh it,I'd be surprised if they would notice an inch,but over weight would be a different matter as it's a safety issue for the overhead lockers.

I'm dreading the hand luggage thing. I think it will make me think carefully about what I really need in my hand luaage as opposed to what I usually pack!! I'm worried my laptop and case might weigh too much though.
