How Star Jones lost her weight...

I think she looks the best in the red dress picture. She looks like a very ugly man in the black dress one.

:rotfl: I think it's the make-up she wears. Way too much.

I think its the "lawyer" in her that is keeping her from saying what method she used and I don't really blame her. If she told what she did and then a fan had this same procedure done and then died from it she could be invloved in a lawsuit because " this person looked up to Star Jones" and had the surgery based on her experience and recommendation.

I think she looks great in the thinner pictures, especially the top one. She looks AWFUL and HUGE in the picture with the orange shirt. She's lucky she didn't topple over on the spot from a heart attack. When she's on The View, she looks like she needs to work out a bit and firm up, but I give her all the credit in the world for losing that much weight.

So fine, don't admit the bypass, but what's with making a big deal out if it then? A bypass is a risky, drastic, and dumb move IMO. Not something to get cheered for.

I will preface this w/ I do not like Star Jones (even of she is from Texas) but I also think it is a major copout to not discuss her weight loss method. I feel very sure from the amount of weight lost and how she looks (kinda out of proportion) that she had the surgery.
I mean, she does not mind mentioning portion control, exercise etc so it is not as if she was not mentioning at all. Just leaving out the actual "trigger". I admit I would have had more respect for her (and Al Roker) if they had done it "on their own". Let's face it if you have gastric bypass you are not hungry because your stomach is so small. If you do it "yourself" you are starving! but keep yourself from over eating. That has got to be harder.

Also they definitely did not say they had not had sex before they got married but that their "spiritual advisor" advised them to abstain for 2 months before their marriage. Big difference.

I can't help thinking....she talks about how hot her husband is, how their sex life is, how rich she is, etc. etc. but the one thing people could actually be inspired about she refuses to discuss. She wrote a book that she is trying to sell so she put it OUT there....then she backs up. Give me a break! If she had the surgery it seems to me that she is somehow ashamed of it...or wants people to think she did it by herself.

I agree about drastic surgery, it does not change the person on the inside...you have to work on what makes you eat too much...and it is not hunger of the stomach. It is hunger of the mind, in my opinion. Fix that and you fix the weight.

It was an interesting comment about getting sued. Could someone actually sue over that? :confused3

FInally, my star rant is over with this comment: I did not like her reporting of the OJ trial way back when...she was one sided and not a true journalist (she was a lawyer) so my "thoughts" about her are a bit slanted. I love the other gals on the view though!

When "THe View" came out, I watched it. Star Jones always rubbed me the wrong way.

Then on one show she went off on people about furs and I couldn't watch it anymore.

It was sad because I like Meredith & Joy. I tuned in awhile ago to check out Star and she was meaner than ever....

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I agree.. I think she looks like this in just about every picture now that she has lost weight..

I do think she's more attactive now than she was before, although her head does look a bit out of proportion against her body. That being said, it's common knowledge in the city that her husband frequents gay bars. He had a boyfriend before he met her. The New York Post gossip columnist was absolutely incredulous when they got engaged.

People can sue over anything these days. If people can sue because of smoking or hot coffee or even cattle ranchers suing because one famous person says they will not eat beef you can believe they can sue over something like dying from doing the same surgery.

Why is she boasting about losing weight?? If ANYONE loses that much weight they deserve to boast and it is her business with what she wants to tell the public. Think about Oprah from years ago when she went on the Optifast diet. She refused to say how she lost the weight until she got into those jeans and then did a whole show about it. Lots of people then followed that diet and several became ill from what I remember.

I do not like all the "I am so rich talk" either but I am proud of all the weight she has lost and she should be too. I can't "dis" her for noy wanting to promote the surgery but it is great that she can promote healthy eating habits. If it helps obese people to lose weight then that is all anyone can hope for.

I really think that she did have some sort of gastric bypass or stomach banding or other radical surgery.

She is a really obnoxious person - IMHO!

This exchange between her and her husband says so much (even if it was is jest)

Today we celebrate our love every waking moment. When I'm all dressed up, Al will say to me in the sexiest voice, "Let 'em have it, Ms. Jones."

"Baby, you are the Man," I answer.

"Thank you, baby," he says.

And I'll say, "Babe, did you make any money today?"

And he'll say, "Yeah, I think I might have made a little bit of money."

And I say, "Did you go buy your wife something? Because your wife likes pretty things."

And he'll say, "I know my wife likes pretty things. Didn't I give you that big old diamond ring?"

And I'll say, "Ooh, that was last year."

You are right I find her obnoxious and let's face it medical intervention spells some sort of gastric bypass. Please! She really thinks she is hot stuff but she now looks like one of those skeleton stautes you see when they celebrate the "Day of the Dead" in Mexico. IMHO

I have read a term here on the boards that applies to alot of actresses today who have big heads and little bodies, star jones has become another Lollipop head!

or MAYBE she kept her mouth shut about it so people would buy her book?

hmmmmmmmmmmm

I have never really liked her.....and she seems a little snooty when it comes to weight loss......she'll have to keep it off....with the surgery that should help! :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Star Jones is such a big phony, IMO. I couldn't even get through the article without becoming nauseous, but I'd like to thank the OP for posting it. I'm too poor to afford a subscription to People, and don't have any doctor visits scheduled! :flower:

heheh...you're welcome!

and I actually cancelled my subscription to people...the stuff is old-news by the time it comes out in print...rather just read it online!

Here is a couple of my thughts, First I will add that I also I'm not a Star Fan.

1. I think her makeup look weird because she is still contouring & does not need to any more.

2. Why write a tell all & not tell any thing.
