To book rooms at Disney World? I know there is something like 499 days max, and I'm within that (hoping for check in of 2.1.2017), but is it a little crazy to book this soon?

Are there pros or cons to booking a year out? I'm planning on booking with the Polynesian.

While I have you here, has anyone vacationed in early February at Disney World? If so, how was it? Short lines? Rides closed? Cool temps?

This is my family's first trip to Disney World (and first family vacation ever) and as you can imagine, we are SO EXCITED! :)

Thanks for your help! Excited to join the community!

That's not too soon...my group is going this March and we did our trip 400 and some odd days out....gave us time to pay on it and save up money.

Well, there are advantages to waiting, but if you find a discount you can always call and get it applied. A travel agent can also do this. So even if you go ahead and book and later down the line see a discount or get a travel agent, either you or the travel agent can get any discounts applied to your original booking as long as the apply for your time period. I had a discount come up after I had already booked about three months ago and I just called and they applied it....saved me 400$!

I tend to book early, simply because I love knowing we have the reservations. To be honest, there's no real NEED to book so early, but I always do it. When the discount comes out, my travel agent always simply applies the discount to my reservation.

Last trip, I checked my email during study hall at school, to find she had moved us from the Beach Club (and could move us back if needed) and saved us $1000 :) Thank you Tracey!!!!

Like others have said, you probably don't need to book that early but we like knowing that we have the reservation. Disnry is great about applying discounts to existing reservations once the come out, you just have to give them a call. Also their cancellation policy is nice too, so you aren't risking anything by booking early, and you get to enjoy the planning process longer.

You of course do want to be booked before you reach 180 days from the start of your trip so you can call and get your dining reservations. That's a fun milestone. :)
