I'm 50 and still trying to talking DH into one!!!! :teeth:

Oldest DS was 19 when we got him one because he was going to be driving a lot back and forth to college.

About 38 or 39 I think. Maybe even 40. Avoided it as long as we could. Now it's all we have.....don't have a land line at all.

18 - 10 years ago. My first phone was an analogue one!

18...

There are so many young kids who have them nowadays. My 10 year old niece has one!!

Probably about 32. I needed one for work since I was on-call 24/7. It was a bag phone. :p

I have one, my mom has one, but Willy doesn't have one. He had one until he lost it. He keeps saying, "Yeah, I will, I will." when I ask him to get his replaced ... I think he puts it off because he knows I'll call him at work if I need him (or if I'm bored).  :p :wave2:

It was 2 years ago, I was 18 and it was a graduation present.

I won't even tell you how old I was, it took us a long time to admit we had to move forward into the 21st century:teeth: Never regretted getting it though...it is handy.

27, and it was one of those huge car phone cell phones.

I had one of those when I was 16! (for EMERGENCY use only, that's when it was like $1.20 a minute to talk on it! heheh) It just sat in my car!

Didn't get my first "REAL" cell until AFTER I graduated college, in 1999...so age 22.

My SIL got her first one 2 christmases ago at age 13. At first I thought it was nuts...that a cell was a luxury...now I know, it's a necessity in todays world

15 got it for Christmas.
Dad had no clue what to get me for a gift so he got me that.

Well, I held off for as long as I could--Just got it last January, so I was 40! What finally made me break down and do it was the fact that there are no longer any pay phones anywhere! DH and I were carpooling and he has a tendency to lose track of time so I was sitting outside waiting and waiting for him. I can't get into his office because he works for the state and you have to get security clearance to get into his area. I ended up having to drive back to my office because I could not find a payphone.

I got one for DD at the same time on the family plan (she's 13). She also had a hard time calling me when she was out due to the same problem. She's been very responsible on it--only calling her friends on the weekends when it's free. I'm very proud of how good she's been with it. In fact, I had to tell her that she could call her dad (we're divorced) whenever she wanted on that phone--she told me, but Mom, I couldn't call him because it wasn't the weekend!

23 and it was for emergencies only... at least then. Now I use it quite often :p

I think I was 20. I had to get it myself, so I had to wait until I made enough money at my part time job to get it. And like a pp said, I only used it for emergencies b/c the per-minute costs were too much!
