How old was your child when you STOPPED making them Easter baskets?

I don't think I will ever stop making Easter baskets! our boys are 17 and 19 (almost 20) and love their baskets......who doesnt love candy?? I do candy, a couple of t-shirts, an i-tunes card and cash.

I make baskets for my husband and Mom too.

I also fill about 100 eggs for an egg hunt!

Mine are 19, 13 & 10 and will get baskets with a little something. I resuse the same baskets and grass from year to year. They will get candy and maybe a gift card or a little cash. I used to buy stuffed animals on clearance the year before & save them to put in with some small toys but it seems pointless now. I'm not sad about getting to the end of the Easter basket days, this was never my favorite.

We'll see. By this weekend, I may feel more sentimental and look for little items to add to them. :scratchin

My DH and I went Easter shopping on the weekend. I asked him the same thing. Our oldest DD is 24 ( just returned home from a trip to Cuba with her BF ) she still lives at home, DD 19 ( uses a wheelchair ) and DS 13. Of course when we went shopping DH bought 3 of every item to make 3 baskets!!!! LOL not even a thought! I want to make one for DD BF but he said that's where he draws the line..... we shall see! We spend about $150 per kid. Now we move into b-days! DD 19 is Apr. 6, DS is Apr. 26 which he shares with his Nan ( my Mom ) and mine is Apr 27! A whole other story! :rotfl:

I still do baskets for my kids (though my older just got married... but up until now I've always done them), and one for my DH, too! Kids are 17 and nearly 21. I also still hide eggs. They have both suggested they'd be disappointed if I stopped.

My mom hid ONE egg for my brothers, sisters-in-law, DH, and me each year. It always had a $100 bill in it. :cool1: That was fun.

This is a great idea.

This thread reminded me of something. Over the past 10 years or so, I've noticed pre-made Easter baskets filled with small toys and wrapped in cellophane. Does anyone actually buy these? We never got/gave out toys for Easter, just candy.

The reason I ask if anyone actually buys these is because all the different types of stores (Walmart, CVS, Family Dollar, supermarkets, etc) seem to have 100 of these the week before Easter, and 99 leftover the week after Easter.

Jim

when I was a kid in the 70's, we would get a basket from the bunny, and would later go to my grandparents for easter dinner and they always gave us one of these premade baskets. I didn't realize they were still around!

We didn't do past grade school.

When my boys were in 5th and 7th I was having surgery a few weeks before Easter so I bought some candy etc. ahead of time. We found it months later. I had forgotten about it and no one else remembered either. On Easter we're always busy from 6:30 AM on with church stuff (the youth are in charge of Easter Breakfast plus we are all musicians playing at multiple services) and a big gathering of family friends. The kids literally didn't care.

None of us are big "gift" people. As long as holidays include a lot of friends, special food and plenty of dessert we're happy!

Umm, never? ;)
Mine are 11 and 13 now. I asked them if they still wanted to dye eggs and also have an egg hunt and they were like YES! Of course!! I don't see them wanting to give up their baskets, either. And I don't want to stop doing it.

My mom made me an Easter Basket until she died(I was 32).
She also started making my husband one when we started dating. Nothing big for us adults, just candy.
Did baskets for the grandkids each year, too.

She did Christmas stockings for us kids, our spouses, and the grandkids (and my dad, too).

It's fun, I like doing it. Getting a little harder for my son(11) as he gets older, as I like to do it up a little more than just candy.
Girls are so easy, makeup, froofy things, hair stuff, jewelry.
I also make one for my husband, too.

I still do a basket, not for my son just for the house. My son is 20. I bought the coooooolest Spiderman basket when he was ten and every year we dig it up and fill it full of stuff. :charac4:

My kids are 24, 23, & 20 and they still get Easter baskets every year. I give them candy and clothes. I don't ever plan on stopping.

I am 41 and my mom still makes me an Easter basket if we travel to their house at Easter - I kid you not! She makes one for my husband too, lol. It's just a bunch of candy that my kids end up eating anyway. But she loves doing it!

I do baskets for my grandkids and get Godiva for my kids. My mom stopped my baskets and trick or treating when I was 10.

It wasn't me, it was my mom last year who made my then 21 and 25 year olds hunt for their baskets in her half acre backyard.
She had a stroke 3 days later, and while she survived, she won't be able to do that this year, so it is a memory my children will cherish.

I still do baskets for my kids..........33 and 30 and also DDIL and me and DH.
No plans to ever stop.

Mine are only 10 & 13 so we still do them and I doubt I will ever stop. I make a basket for my parents also. I love giving gifts! And candy!

I'm mailing off DD18 Easter basket on Wednesday since she wont be able to come home from college.

My kids just turned 16 and 20. They still get Easter Baskets. :goodvibes

 Hope they cherish their memories. :goodvibes

My kids are 18,20, and 26 and they still get baskets, as does DH. Well, Christian doesn't; he could care less about holidays and presents. But then, our baskets are really gift bags and the kids don't get toys or stuff like that. Just malted milk ball eggs, jelly beans, and a chocolate rabbit.

I still do a basket for my 28 year old DD. There's a little candy - her favorites and then other things. This year, a Rubber Duckie Luggage Tag, a couple Nail Polishes, a huge bag of Pistachios, among other things. DH & I do baskets for each other.
