How Old Should Triplets Be for First WDW Trip

I have nine month old triplets, and want to take them to WDW. We live in California, so will be a long trip. Should they be three or four before we go?

Of course we will go to DL in Sept. after the summer crowds go away.

We took ds1 for his first trip at 20 months. DS2 was 2 months at his first trip, but we had only had one little one at a time. With DS2's first trip we had 4 kids, but they were ages 11, 10, 2 and 2 months. I know the experience would be different with 3 at a young age. I think when you feel you are ready, they will be ready. IMO a child is never too young for Disney, but a parent has to know their children and when they can handle it. And when the PARENT can handle it too!

We took our triplets when they were 2 and my twins were 4. The triplets need to be able to stand on the moveable belts and up and down the escalators. This was the hardest thing for us. So, if you can pratice before you go. I will say it was hard to take them so young but they loved it so it was worth it. We are going in Sept and the twins are 6 now, triplets are 4 and the baby is 2. We are so excited because they are less dependent on us now. It should be easy this time! Good luck to you when you do deside to take them.

you will have a GREAT time whenever you take them!

we took our 3 (ggb) for the first time about 2 weeks after they turned 2. we also took the inlaws and my parents and it was so much fun. it took us the first 2 days to learn that the kids needed more down time (much better behavior once we started heading out of the parks after 2-3 hrs. in the AM and PM).

we then went when the kids were 2 1/2 (just the 5 of us), and it was an almost PERFECT vacation....it was so, so magical. i think this trip was easier because there was significantly less chaos with only the 2 of us calling the shots (we weren't trying to please 3 toddlers AND 4 other adults), and we stuck to their routine pretty well, and we brought the runabout stroller (which i LOVED using there),and
--most importantly--we stayed at the polynesian...this was FABULOUS for us!!!!super fast transportation when the kids needed to get home for nap/bed (no 40 min. bus/boat ride crankiness like first trip) and the runabout rolled right onto the monorail, and the beach was PERFECT for down time for the kids. they played on the beach every night for at least an hour before bedtime. plus, we watched the fireworks over the castle and then the electric water pageant and then put the kids right to bed (no hassles getting out of the parks).

we then took the kids back at 3, then 3 1/2, and we're going back a week after they turn 4!

each trip was wonderful in its own way. now that they are older and have more opinions, i am finding it more difficult to keep everyone content all the time , but i am finding age 3 more challenging than age 2, in general! i will also say that although they were close to being potty trained at home before our last trip, i let it slide completely while we were there , so i have yet to do the trip with 3 kids needing to find a bathroom IMMEDIATELY every 30 mins. (that truly might change my perception of how "easy" it is to do WDW with triplets!)

it is certainly not a relaxing vacation, but it is such a great time. i love planning vacations, so i spent loads of time preparing and i think that really helped us enjoy (and maximize) our time....my kids at 2 and 3 were good for about 2 -3 hrs. at a time in the parks, so i planned 2-4 activities/entertainments each morning and evening (after nap back at the hotel). after that, the things we did usually involved low-key activities (playing in fountains or playground area, snacking, exploring in a quiet area, etc) until it seemed like the kids were ready to leave the park.

have fun,

Under 3 so you wont have to pay for tickets and buffets! Take advantage of it! We took our son when he was 2 and he had a blast. He was afraid of the characters (and Santa) but we prepped him by watching the Sing Along dvds. We still had to go with him to meet the characters, except for Mickey-he ran up to him, cutting in front of the others waiting!

Lines were a new concept to him and it took him a bit to comprehend that. He was afraid of the 3d movies (the physical effects) and the Haunted Mansion. Otherwise, he loved the rides and shows, including Fantasmic. I dont know how much he remembered, but I took videos and lots of photos which he looked at all that time. We went back the following year and as soon as he saw DTD he went nuts. The monorail was a huge hit too. He did remember it and our resort (CR) and made sure to point it out when he saw it.

We only went back to the resort one day for a lunch/nap break. Our son is one who can sleep anywhere, so he would sleep in the stroller. We are heading back next month. My son is already telling and showing his pictures to our DD1 to prep her. She loves the Little Mermaid so I cant wait for her to see everything at WDW. It is absolutely PRICELESS to see a child's reactions in WDW so be sure to take videos and pics!

I agree with the last poster about going before the kids turn 3 so they will be free. I'd go just shy of their 3rd birthdays.

That would get my vote. Still free, but old enough to do quite a bit, not need to be carried a lot, etc. Enjoy!

We're booked to take our 2 year old ggg triplets in December at the Grand Floridian. It is our family's first Disney trip. We are bringing my mom to help out. I figure if we have 3 adults and 3 kids they can never outnumber us! :rotfl2: I like hearing what others have to say, hopefully I made a good decision. They turned 2 June 16th so when we go they will be 2 1/2. I know it's going to be crazy, but hey, the tickets and buffets will be free!

My triplets are 8 and this will be their first trip to Disney. When they were 9 months old we took them, along with their older brother and sister to the Disney Resort at Hilton Head Island. The older ones are now 14 and 13 and they have been to Disney 3 times, before the triplets were born. So, I'd say pack up the triplet stroller and go!!!!!
