Kimberry, I hope you are still checking on your thread!! !
I'm 55 and so excited to be accepted for Spring 2012!! WDW has always been a big part of our lives (me, hubby & two sons with college degrees).
** I never ever imagined I would be a college student at this stage in my life. Like many people... times are tough. So here I am, trying to reinvent myself.
My oldest son was in the 2010 Spring Program (with my encouragement). Said he'd go back in a heartbeat.
I am so proud of him... He is who urged me to apply! All his idea. How cool is that?
He helped me realize I'm so lucky to be in this position (smart kid). When will this ever happen again? So here I am packin' to go to WDW in January! Who knew?
What did Walt say?
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible". "If you can dream it, you can do it".
I would love to hear from you!
Hey you "non-traditional" CP Students out there? It would be great to get acquainted!!
Lynette
Lynette, I am excited for you! I just returned from Spring 2011, am 43 years old and had the time of my life. It was, I think, an even richer experience for me, as I had a marriage and family at 23 and never really attempted something truly on my own. I commuted to college when I was younger, so it was really a learning experience to live apart from my loved ones, and it was so good for me. I met a few others my age...I won't lie, you will be surrounded by younger cast members most of the time, but it turned out ok! I endured a few stares during Traditions, because others are curious as to the age difference, but met a lot of wonderful younger cast members that I had fun with and keep in contact with to this day. I think about it this way...if I had known about this program when I was younger, I would have gone too. So now you are on your way! If I can answer any questions for you, I would be happy to. Good luck and have a wonderful time.
