I talked some "older" lady into buying one tonight. She was looking at them and she really wanted one, but she thought maybe she was too old, or it was tooo bold or something.
I convinced her no one needed to know, or see it. It would be her little secret.

shhhhhhh don't tell anyone

I agree never too old for a toe ring after all... you can just take it off if you don't like it. A tatoo however...

Hey it's fun and funky -- never too old.

Was just thinking of this very question, as I finally broke down and bought 2, and I'm not a kid, but I love the look of it and I also have anklet bracelets that I love.:D

That's exactly what I thought. :D

I figured to heck with the toe ring, it irritated my skin. So a couple of months ago, I got a tattoo of a palm tree on a toe. It looks kind of like I am wearing a toe ring.

I don't recommend tattooing a toe for the record. It hurt like all heck and finding shoes that don't rub it for 2 weeks is a pain. One more thing, it's the only tattoo I have. I'm pretty sure it's the last after the darn pain.

That was one of those plans that looked good on paper...right???:teeth: I bet it looks pretty neat....good idea

:D

It was one of those "OH HECK with it" moments. We had 1/2 day of school (I am an assistant in kindergarten for special education, well was got laid off anyways...) SO back to the 1/2 day... I got off work and decided I was going to just do it.

I called dh and told him I am getting the tattoo on my toe. (I had been going to get one but couldn't decide where) He laughed hysterically and said I am in a meeting, see you when I get home.

So, I found a tattoo shop in our small town. I made them show me their Health Dept. certification, then plopped my foot on a very scary ladies leg. :D :D The rest is history.

Now I have the palm tree on my toe. :D I have told dh it is a sign we MUST stay at the Poly Concierge, next trip. :D So far he's not buying that scam, but I am still trying to sell it. ::yes::

I wear one , I have serveral and I am 37 . So to me that is not toooo old for it .

Never too old.
But I only wear one on vacation for some reason.

When your toes start falling off, you're too old. Anything else is ok. :teeth:

LOL, just guessing here, but "older" as she was in her 70's. But she was smiling as she walked away. :teeth:

How neat! Good for her.I love my toe ring, I never take it off and forget that its there sometimes.

LOL, I had actually reconsidered your original post, and was going to ask "just HOW hold was she anyway"...well, at 70 if her toes still looked good, why not!!! And when I said I was old, I'll put it to you this way, I'm between 49/55...hehehehe....so you can guess about how old my toes are....(but they look pretty good for the amount of walking I've done on em'), you know, I keep them all spiffed up....

Hey, any reason to stay at the Poly is good in my book, tell hubby I said so...tell him you get a good rate for having a palm tree on your tootsie....(men are gullible...;) ) and then say that you toes need some sun, a trip to the beach would be nice too...just so your toes/tree feel at home....:p

Go for it, I'm 34 and still have stuffed animals on my bed...but no one else knows, so don't tell anyone.

I don't particularly care for toe rings and therefore, don't wear one myself.

But for those that do, I don't think there should be any age cut-off. If you like it, wear it!::yes::

I have been wearing a toe ring and an ankle bracelet for about 7 years. I got a tattoo 3 years ago. I'm 46.

I never even thought of any of these as being too old. To me, you're as old as you feel. ...:Pinkbounc

I love the toe tattoo. And I can totally relate to the pain factor. I got my lizard tattoo on my ankle and it hurt like a you-know-what. The tattoo artist said, that it is one of the most painful areas, because it is so close to the bone. Probably the same with a toe. DH got a pair of lips done on his behind, and he said it didn't hurt at all..:teeth:

I'm 48 and have always wanted a tattoo of a ladybug on a toe. Now you guys have me convinced that I'm not "too old" to do this, but the pain factor is looming large!

BTW -- I still wear toe rings, too!

Edie

I'm 42. I have a toe ring and an ankle bracelet. I never take the toe ring off, except for a pedicure.
