How old is the oldest family photo you have?

But I do have one that has...............

My daughters, their mom (my wife), her mom, her mom, and her mom...

I love seeing all these old photos. They're priceless. Blondie, I love the wedding picture. It's beautiful! It's great seeing everyone's photos. I'm big into genealogy and love having pictures to go with it.

yep, it's in a small town in northwestern illinois where the maternal side of my family is from.

I have a COPY of a family photo of my great grandparents taken around 1919. My 2 greataunts are in it as little girls and they are wearing high buttoned shoes and big bows. My cousin has the original.


I have old photos, I collect them, but they are not family. They are just photos I like and buy from flea markets and antique places. I have tintypes, and photos dating back to the Civil War. I love to date them by the clothing, color, style, etc. I also have an old photo album full of old pictures about 100 years old , maybe older. I paid $40 for it and its worth about $100 or more.

It's sad to think that the album you bought used to belong to someone, and that nobody felt the need to keep it in their family.

Jvas, you should scan it and post it! I love photos where there are 3 or more generations, they are keepsakes for sure!

Just like you, Blondie, I feel sad when I see old photo albums that once held precious memories for a family "discarded" in a flea market or antique store. Don't these people realize they were holding history right in their hands?!!!

Another thing many of you would probably enjoy is an old newspaper I happen to have. I special ordered a New York Times from 1923 (Dad's birthdate) as a gift for him. Just so happened that he was born on a sunday a month before Christmas. You should see the special advertisements in there!!!! The clothes, furniture and all other classifieds are INCREDIBLE! They also have a whole section on travel. Many luxury cruises and luxury hotels. Couldn't find one single thing on WDW, however!

I wanted to post that photo I mentioned that seems to be misidentified. (It says they are my 4great grandparents, but they were born in the 1760s.) I finally got it approved in the DIS photo gallery, but now I can't get back there to post it here.

Besides wanting to share the photo, I was hoping that someone here would be able to give me some help on an approximate date. So far, I haven't been able to find someone knowledgable enough at the local historical society or photo stores.
