How often do you hear from your guide?

We bought while at DL and we had a call the next week to thank us and see how we were doing and to welcome us home. ( he wanted to make sure that we got our points banked alright etc)

Anyone know if Randy Kruger is still there?
I bought over the phone a couple of years ago. Never met him and don't know what he looks like, but I like his voice.

WOW. My guide is Michelle MacAlister and she calls us EVERYTIME we visit WDW. We go four-five times a year and every trip (did I say EVERY trip) she calls us and welcomes us home. Not only us, if we book a room for one of our kids, she calls them too. I thought this was standard stuff, but obviously not. She is a gem. I always ask her, how does she know we're there, and she said she gets a weekly print out of guest staying DVC and checks for her people to welcome them home. If I need something all I do is call and she has a message on her machine if she's vacationing or that she will get back to us within 24 hours at the latest. She even checks her phone messages while on vacation a couple of times a week and makes time to return phone calls. I can't tell you how many times I called when I made my first purchase and how many times I spoke with her while doing my BWV add on last year, but she was available and helpful every phone call. When she's not calling me at WDW, she does call me at home or at work several times a year to see if everything is going well with my membership and she calls when there is a new promotion (AKV). :thumbsup2

Wow! Michelle is our guide, and we have not ever met her, although we have tried to. (OK, this was just once, and she was sick the day we were supposed to get together.) We do get the e-mail from her when a trip is coming up. Michelle and I have chatted on the phone for what I would consider a very long time exchanging stories of our lives, and she is someone I would like to meet, but no, that hasn't happened (yet). She has not ever called us when we're at WDW.

We get welcome home calls when we are at WDW. She (Theresa Seitz) has called us at home twice over the past year to make sure everthing was ok. Never any pressure, not even any metion of sales even thought the last call was right after AKV went available. We have also received several hand written notes.

We bought in person from Theresa. She was and has been wonderful. :thumbsup2 IMO the epitome of what a DVC guide should be. :thumbsup2

Oops, I'm sorry. I thought this was standard. Maybe she's on vacation when you're there. Let me see, what other excuse can I make up. Anyway, Michelle seems so geniue and nice, it's like she's part of our Disney family. She makes buying, adding on, and helping answer any question very easy.

I have no idea who my guide is nor have I ever heard from him/her. :guilty:

Bernard is our guide, and he is wonderful at communicating!
If I initiate a question, he calls back within the hour if he is in the office, or at least by the next day. He also calls occasionally to ask if we have any questions and are enjoying our DVC.
Great guy.

We here from our guide before every trip, he is guy McCain.

Our guide is Patty Douglas. I called her once to ask a question and she returned my call promptly, but I've never heard from her any other time.
We get the sales brochures with her signature but have never received a random call or welcome home call. I'm ok with that. I'm was happy with her when we purchased and am glad that when we have had a question she has answered it promptly. I don't need more than that.

I hear from mine when I leave a message to call me back. I don't expect anything more.

We hear from our guide (Larissa P.) everytime we travel to WDW or VB. She calls to wish us a great trip and if we need anything to give her a call.

We hear from ours a few days after check in at each trip. Sometimes it is to encourage us to buy more points, sometimes just a have a good trip. However, I don't think the guide really wants to talk. I think it is just a sales ploy. Why? The phone never rings. We always get a voicemail. It is like when you are at work and get a call vm forwarded, the phone never rings.

I usually "hear" from him when Disney sends out promotional materials (like the new DVC promo with the AKV special on it.) The material always includes a canned letter from the guide, letting me know to call if I'm interested in anything.

However, more often than not, when I go down to Disney (I go two or three times a year), I will come back to the room and see the message light flashing on the phone. It's a message from him welcoming me home and letting me know that, if I wish, he is available for a visit or call.

when we check in. We called to ask for a tour of the AKL sample villas at the Sales Center, even telling him we were not adding on now, just wanted to see if we could look. He happily took us on a tour. James S. Very helpful. If you want his full name as an excellent guide, just send personal message.

Larry Hope is our guy...I've heard from him a few times over the last 8 years. Nice guy always answered my questions.

Randy Cook is mine, I get a monthly email, new DVC literature with a message from him, a prompt call when I call him.

Our current guide has never proactively contacted us, but she has returned our calls promptly and professionally when we've done business with her. BTW, I don't expect welcome homes or similar from her or anyone else in a position like hers. Also, note that some of these guides, including ours, are now based in Anaheim.

Interesting. Honestly, I read your post very differently. I guess I see the "back door" message as a sign of not bothering you on vacation but letting you know they are available, in the office, if needed.

Also, "sales ploy"....they are salespeople.

I personally would not like to hear from my guide on vacation. Just me. And I never have. He phoned my house before this last trip just to let me know he was on vacation when we were on vacation probably because of all the excitement with members around AKV. And to let me know to speak to any guide if I needed help. I didn't. But nice to know.....

Other than that he always returns questions and calls promptly when I've made them when considering an add-on. If you do add-ons or are thinking about them not returning calls or emails at all would annoy me.
