How odd are you? --> Packing

I pack my pillow, I cant sleep without it.

Same here, hotel pillows are a crap shoot - sometimes you get a good one, but mostly you get those horrible flat ones. I have to have a fluffy pillow and my sleep mask. Gotta have my bear, too, but that is a whole other issue...

I thought I saw those laundry tabs when I went to WalMart the other day... But it could be my imagination.. They do have those travel Tides and stuff though which is a lot less embarrassing than the "white powder"

I like the Dunkin Donuts comment... =] But I am a Krispy Kreme lover.. :bounce:

What's weird is all the dishwasher soaps are now going to tabs, and the laundry soaps are going back to powder. Go figure. I too gave up on trying to find tabs and pack the soap in baggies.

Sometimes... check the AA.com website and a website called (I think seatmaps.com)
it will have seatmaps for the plane you're on, and whether the seats have plugs for
AC adapters. You may have to get an adapter for the AC plug on the plane, it's not
standard.

Thanks so much for the info!!! I checked our flights (2 going, 2 returning) and NOT ONE WAS IN A ROW THAT HAD THE POWER PORTS!! I quickly got on the phone with AA and got seats that have them. Now all I have to do is get the adapters. Flying from CA to FL will be MUCH EASIER for DDs 8 &10!!

I try to buy either microfiber shorts with a lining or bathing suits for my dh and 2ds. If I have enough for each day I do not have to deal with extra underwear and if they get wet they dry quickly and no one complains. I have learned to avoid denim at all costs because at some point during the day we usually get wet on something and nothing is more uncomfortable than wet denim. I also pack a swimmers chamois to carry into the parks. Great for drying off, just wring and it is ready to use again and very compact.

I like this idea for the wet rides. Where do you get a swimmers chamois? That could come in handy for wet seats too.

Check BestBuy and maybe Fry's -the one we have is from Xtend Micro. It's called the
PowerXtender Airpland and Auto Adapter. I'd bet that Kensington makes one too.
the big thing is to check that it works on an airplane, and that they'res a plug for
your DVD player. You may want to check on Xtend's or Kensingon's websites..
I've even got a connector for my Powerbook for this adapter.

I forgot all about ponchos we pack for the water rides. Anyone else do this?

Yup. Actually we've got them for bad weather -we usually have swim shorts, and Teva's
on for the water rides. We've also got a buncha ziploc bags to pack electronics before
we go on the water rides. Especially for Kali -I got nailed on the 'backwards seat' which
is the one that you will get COMPLETELY drenched last trip!!! hehehe..

I still think the gallon of salsa and the power screwdriver beat all. We take lots of stuff, but those are the best!
We've refined our lists and the stuff that we ship early over many years of going to
WDW -our friends that we've been going down to WDW over NYE have been astonished by the "stuff" that we take along....but it's usually useful!

I got mine at a local sports store, but to be honest they are the same as one you would use to dry a car. I have seen them at Auto Palace etc. My husband works for a Toyota dealership and I have even seen them for sale there. The one I have has a plastic case to put it in. They are awesome as it eliminate the necessity of carrying towels.

Go to the auto department in Walmart, Target, Kmart etc. Get one there. It is less than half what the "swimming" costs, and it is the same thing. About $10 bucks compared to $25 to $30. That is what I did. Mine says "auto dry"??? or something like that on it, but for the price, I didn't care. And usually they have different colors to pick from too. :sunny:

I just checked BestBuy.com. YIKES!!! This thing is $99.99!!!! I was thinking we'd pick up a couple of adapters (one for each DD) and they'd be about $5-10 each. BOY WAS I WRONG!

Thanks! Something to add to my Walmart shopping list. :flower:

Yeah. Unfortuunately they're kinda steep. I think that's because they need lots
of different voltages to output for different DVD player's and laptops. You may want
to check ebay, too. I got a charger for a digital camera cheep from there after I checked stores and got $60-80 for one. I'ts worth a try.
