I was talking to my girlfriend tonight on the phone. We got on the topic of "kids, stress, work, money" etc. I said to her that I am finding myself relaxing at night having a glass (sometimes 2) of wine while I read or Dis! LOL I said that I really need to break the "habit" and she responded "oh please! A glass of wine? I drink a bottle of wine almost every night"!!!

She is the most caring mother/wife, has a great job, looks like a #10 no matter when you see her etc. I would never in a million years think she drank too much....is this too much?

I was thinking about when I used to pour wine as a bartender....technically a bottle of wine gets you a little over 3 glasses of wine. I guess it is when you hear a "bottle" that gets your attention!

Believe me, I am NO saint. I could probably drink a bottle of wine myself! :rotfl2:

I drank a whole bottle last week when I celebrated by 40th bday!!!!! :teeth:

Hmm, I drink very little so when I do, a little goes a long way. If I'm feeling adventurous I could drink maybe 2 glasses.

That seems like an awful lot to be drinking on a regular basis. Maybe she was exaggerating. I definitely get loopy after 1 glass of wine. I have a friend who used to go out to lunch with her 4-year-old daughter a lot and would have one sometimes two glasses of wine--at LUNCH!!

I could drink a bottle no problem...but my body wouldn't like it the next day. So I compromise a have a glass every now and then.
But if I am at a party I will polish off a bottle, but that would be with appetizers & over an evening as well.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Happy Birthday!! You DO NOT look 40 (not that 40 is old ;) )

Like I said...I can and have drank a whole bottle myself...it's just the "nightly" thing that peaked my curiosity!

It depends, I was on a wine kick last winter and had no problems drinking a few glasses. Now no way can I get through 2
:crazy2: :headache:  glasses.

I can't hold my liquor well--I'd be snockered after half a glass! I had much more immunity built up when I was in college! :teeth:

About three glasses of wine (about 3/4 bottle) is my tolerance. I have drank more than that, and it is not pretty. Ironically, I can drink more beer or mixed drinks than that if I space them out. Luckily, my drink of choice is wine, so 3 drinks is usually my limit. :teeth: If you see me here Friday nights on the DIS around midnight, you can pretty much rest assured I am on my 3rd glass. ;)

Aaaawwwww thanks. :goodvibes . I normally don't drink, only on occasion, but my "Redneck Yacht Club" friends wouldn't have it any other way ;) . :boat: :drinking1 :thewave:

I'd have to say none. I don't like wine. But I could polish off a bottle of champagne without a problem.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'll remember that and point out every typo!!! :rotfl: 3 glasses is almost a bottle...what do you do with the last 1/4 ounce? LOL

3 glasses is no problem for me either...not trying to brag! Yes, dh and I enjoy our "cocktails" although my "cocktails" are limited to wine and beer now..I can not handle the "hard stuff" like I used to@

usually 2 is my limit but I'll have 3 occasionally. It just hurts more the next morning. :rotfl2:

None! For some reason, I'm yet to find a wine that I like enough to be able to drink more than a sip of!

I could drink a bottle. But I can't remember the last time I did that. Literally. I can't remember it. :teeth:
No, just kidding. I haven't done that in a long time. I, like Aidensmom, can drink a lot more beer than I can wine.

I don't drink wine either. I prefer strawberry daiquiris. Would a bottle of wine be equivalent to a bottle of daiquiri mix (without the alcohol)? :confused3

I get loopy with one glass. I rarely drink. The last time I had a few glasses of a wine cooler I felt it. I guess it was a wine cooler. Something like a hard lemonade.

I end up getting a 1/3 to one half of a bottle. DH and I always share the bottle :lovestruc, but once every couple of weeks. We want to savor it, lol!

OTOH, we also have some sort of beverage containing Southern Comfort a little more frequently. Again, we end up having our 'lovely beverage' together.

Of course, once I got him my Mom decided she needed one too....she is getting sa kitten that I named "Belle"...figures  I amd the Disney geek that gets a "Strider" and she gets the princess Belle! :rotfl:

Two glasses tops. It goes straight to my head. :teeth:
