How Much Video for first trip w/Kids

This is our first trip to WDW with out kids 6 & 8. This will also be their first plane/flight and first week long vacation.

I have a DSLR that I will bring and a few lenses, but it does not do video. So last week I purchased a Canon HF200 1080i/60 HD Camcorder. This test video is amazing so far, but east through memory pretty quickly.
When I purchased the HF200, I also purchased (2) 16GB SanDisk Class 6 video version SDHC cards. This will give me 250 minutes (or about 3 hours).
I also have enough battery for 3 hours as well (based on typical shooting/NOT max).

How much time do first time Disney people shoot in a day?
We are planing on going to all 4 parks (I am thinking AK will be the most video with a Safari and other attractions, but again it is an unknown) over 6 days.

How long is the AK safari ride?
How long are the parades (on average)?
How long are shows like Nemo and Lion King?

My concern is two fold.
1) is 3 hours a day enough?
(For things like the fireworks, shows, parades, etc; I am going to use my Gorilla Pad and let it shoot on it own, while I watch. I will edit later when we return, but will still be burning through the memory.)
2) I am going to be bringing my laptop as well as an external drive (double redundancy), but am not sure if I will have time each and every night to clear off my DSLR cards as well as (2) 32 GB of video a night either. Plus if I do not have time to archive them. I would prefer to not bring non-archived cards into the park (in case I lose/damage them).

The SanDisk 16GB Class 6 are $50 each, but even as I am writing this I am thinking I might just get 2 more 16GB cards to be safe.

I already did a search on this, but did not return anything like I was looking for.

Thanks

On a side note, my dad took my family to WDW one of the first week it opened in Nov. '72 and I remember he shot around 12 minutes the entire trip and we always wished it had shot more. This was the old "Super 8" days where I believe each film had a max of 3 minutes (plus developing).

I took My son for his first trip when he was 2 (17 years ago). It was before the digital age.
We were at WDW for a seven day stay but I started shooting at home before we went to the airport. I shot something like 24 hours of video and edited down to approx 3 hours after we got home.
We went in 2004 and I took my DSLR. My wife and kids were gonna kill me after the 3rd day. I had taken approx 900 pics (after editing) and they made me leave the camera in the room for the rest of the trip.
This is what I think... take video, shoot pics of your family but remember you are on vacation!!!!! trust me its hard to enjoy everything looking through the viewfinder.

That's a bit like telling someone you are going to the beach and asking how many books you should bring to read. Everyone is different. Some people will shoot very little video and others will want to shoot almost continuously.

I suggest that you guess at what you think you'll need and then bring 50% more capacity than that. That'll give you an extra margin for error. You might also consider an extra battery.

Ok, I'm a contradiction!!!! I LOVE taking pictures. I'd take as many as they let you!!!
Do you have a card reader??? other than the one on you lap top???
