How much time

My family and I are going the second week in April. On our other trips we had small infants so we just did one park a day and just took it super slow. So my question is how much time should we plan for Epcot, MK, AK, and MGM. We won't be doing any of the rides that can't be ridden by someone 40 inches tall. I m guessing MGM will take the least time, also I saw some info on days of the week that parks have highest attendance, so should we try to hit parks on the off days or do those even hold true during peak times? We are staying on site so we can use EMH if we need to, but I want to have some sort of plan...THanks for any advice you can give.

Welcome to the DIS!

That is Easter week, so one thing I can tell you is to be prepared for big crowds. Arrive early and use FastPass wisely.

How many days do you have passes for? If you are able 1 day per park then double back to Epcot (usually latest park open) and MK (tends to be little kids favorite) on early park closing days (MGM & AK)

With small children you will want to spend the most time in MK and specifically Fantasyland & Toontown. There are other shows, rides, events in other areas but my 2 found these areas the most appealing. I would recommend trying to do AK early AM 1 day and then hopping (if an option) over to Epcot or MK later in the day. I would also recommend doing 1/2 a day at MGM - we loved Fantasmic (fireworks) here so we would do the 2nd 1/2 of a day here - we started out at MK early hours day and hopped to MGM around 1:00 for the rest of the day but alot of that depends on the closing times of the parks too.

We Have 6 day Park hopper tickets. On the sixth day we will be checking out that morning. I ve already booked most of our ADR's, so that is done now I m just trying to come up with a basic game plan. My inlaws are traveling with us but they will be staying offsite, this is their 1st time to Disney , so I want to try to have a plan. Also during the EMH to crowds decrease significantly? I figured we would be best with Park hopper tickets because we could jump around if we needed to.

Thanks for any advice or tips...I m so stinking excited!!! :cheer2:

Where are your ADR's? I found that I planned our days around where we were eating. For example if you have breakfast at Crystal Palace we would spend the day at MK. We didn't want to hop just for food. I took a notebook (something travel size - 4x6) and put each day at the top of a separate page. Then I wrote in my ADR's with confirmation #'s, then I added comments as I found them - don't forget to see a, b, c - look for 1, 2, 3 at different parks, places that I knew my 2 would enjoy. Check out the thread for free things in the parks - little souveniers, extras that the kids enjoy - example is the free robot at innovations in Epcot, kidcot stations, and sooo much more. How old are the kids?

Since you have already booked your meal reservations, it may be a bit late for specific advice. If I were planning a six-day trip to WDW from the get-go, I would plan about two days each for Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, and one day each for the Disney-MGM Studios and the Animal Kingdom. And I would use the advice in The Unofficial Guide by Sehlinger to determine the best days for each park.

I would also plan each day at a park, listing the attractions I wanted to do and mapping out a route through the park so as to avoid backtracking. I would make those daily itineraries loose, with plenty of extra time between major attractions. I would also avoid moving between parks and resorts during the day, as such movement really eats up the touring time.

Having done the above, THEN I would make my meal reservations to fit my park plans.

Also, I would keep in mind that the second week in April begins with Easter, and also includes many school system's spring break week, I would plan accordingly, expecting crowds. Being sure to enter the parks at opening time, and using fastpasses when practical should make park touring easier and more rewarding.

Enjoy.

Thanks everyone, I may have to look at stuff and change dinner ressies....

so far our reservations are:
Mon at Sci Fi at 7:10 so I thought we would try to make the 10pm Fantasmic. Maybe do the morning at Epcot and afternoon at MGM.
Tue at Whispering Canyon at 6:40 which is clost to MK I ve been told so I thought we would do MK that day and fireworks.
Wed at Ohana, AK has emh this day so I thought we would do AK that day, I see on allears.net that Wed is consdiered busy for AK, so we may just do the Morning and then head over to epcot or MK (any suggestions?).
Thur at San Angel Inn... so Epcot and illuminations.
Fri 50's Prime Time not sure on this day.
Sat. no ADR's we will be leaving late afternoon this day, so I guess just whatever we feel like we missed.

Our kids are 3,5,6 we may have to take a little break half way through the day... any suggestions?
