How much spending do you take?

We usually take 1000 most we have ever taken would be 1500 but it depends on if you are bringing lot of things back with you

We were on the QS food plan in July. I did watch how much it costs it was roughly $30 for 2 quick services meals at each meal. As I said, the weather was very hot so even though we had the food plan we did not eat much we often split. The portions are big enough you can split to tide you over for a while and split again. We were going to buy sweatshirts but did not a few we checked were well north of $50 and I just can't see spending that much on a sweatshirt. They just are not $50 + sweatshirts in IMHO. I would bring some extra money as things do not always go as planned. One year, we took the kids when they were younger. We thought "they don't eat much we can split a meal" by the 3rd day I was "get your hands off those fries"http://www.disboards.com/images/smilies/wink.gif you never know. Somehow either we lost money or did not plan well we were out of money. Charged the rest of the food for the trip.

You might want to keep in mind that you will want to drink plenty of water. Even in late August heat stroke can be a factor.

Are you eating breakfast in the room? Will you be taking snacks with you to the parks in case you get hungry between meals?

For our upcoming trip we are bringing nine hundred dollars for spending money. That's for a nine day trip.

When we went in April we stayed in a townhouse ate breakfast and lunch there. We brought $1200, and I think we spent $600. Maybe spent $50 on souvieners. My parents did pay for a couple of sit down dinners. I would estimate $60/day for a family of 4 for CS, and maybe another $50 for snacks/ desserts ;) I would think $800 would be enough. We are going again in Nov on FD we are a family of 4. We will have to pay for DD2 meals since she doesnt get FD, tips, gas, dog kennel, we only are bringing $1200. I assume will bring some back also.

I think your amount is fine....even a bit high. We are a family of 5. We don't buy much.....food (we share many meals as the servings are so big), a few gifts for the kids. If we go a week, I would say about 750. We also always have a car and tend to eat off site.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful advice. We will do breakfast in our suite and probably eat supper out of the parks except for maybe one special meal. I am on a strict diet so that will help. :) And the girls can share meals considering how little they eat. This has been a last minute trip so we are pulling it tight on funds but everything seems to be working out so far. We are definitely taking plenty of snacks and water. I am also planning on taking little gift items I have picked up here and there that is Disney related to help keep me from having to spend a lot on it there for the kids. We are also making their own autograph books this week. And I am working on some personalized Disney shirts for them thanks to some wonderfully creative members here.
