I'm just curious about how many people not only have ADRs but pick out which items on the menu they'll be having before they arrive in WDW.

I picked out what I would most likely eat in order to calculate whether the DDP would save me any money.

Ditto. I printed off the menus and put them in a binder. It helped us decide to get the DDE card versus the DDP.

I have this quirk where I refuse to look at a menu before I am seated at a table. That's just me, though. :thumbsup2

I check out the menu to make sure it is suitable for the pickier members of my family. But, with the ever changing menus recently, I try not to rely on any one item being my reason for picking the restaurant.

Of course, since the food is one of the highlights of a Disney vacation (IMHO) , I will admit to spending more than a little time drooling over the "food porn" thread :surfweb: and dreaming of what I will order.

I wouldn't say that we actually pick-out what we are going to have at a restaurant, but we do certainly look at the menus to help us decide where to eat. Of course, while doing that we will often spot something that we say "We'll have to try that". Also, some places we just have to have our favorites. For example, when we go to YSH we know it going to be the filet. But even then we don't really make a decision until we are seated and looking over the menu again. Sometimes the restaurant is having a special that sounds good and we'll change our mind.

Since I'm a newbie, I admit that I have an idea what I'm going to order at certain restaurants based off of the food porn I see on here. Other than that, I just look at the menu to see that there is at least two options for me and FI and go from there.

When I plan my adrs I do look at the menus of restaurants I haven't been to yet just to ensure there is something for everyone.....me, dh, and dd have very different tastes so I can't book a restaurant that would have nothing someone would eat.

I check out the menu's to see if anything is appealing but in the end, opt to get whatever sounds the best at the time.

I SWORE last year I'd eat steak anyplace that had it on the menu. I love a good filet and rarely eat one but by day 4, I didn't want to look at another steak.

You never know what you'll feel up to.
