How much luggage do you take?

Between my Christmas tree and window decorations, sweatshirts and short sleeve shirts because of the crazy weather I feel like I am taking too much!

In reality I have one kid's size suitcase, one rather large suitcase (but only 58 pounds) and a half empty duffle bag, plus my Baggallini (no purse) for two people for a 7 day trip. If the weather wasn't so crazy I feel like I could pack less but I really don't want to do laundry. Does it seem like too much?

I have packed two pairs of jeans each, one pair of shorts each, three sweatshirts for me and four for my son (some are Tinkerbell gifts) and probably 6 tshirts (mix of short and long sleeve) and enough socks and undies for the 7 days.

I guess because last time we went I only took one suitcase for us both it seems excessive but jeans and sweats take up a lot more room than shorts and short sleeve t's ....

Thoughts? And how much do you take?

Oh yeah - only 2 days and 19 hours until we board our flight to WDW!!

I probably take too many suitcases but every year it gets better. I now take two check ins for my dh and two check ins for me. Plus we each carry on. I try to leave them half empty so I can bring home the surprises for my grandkids. HA!

I don't think you are taking too much, especially since you have to pack clothes for warm and cool weather. When my son and I go, we each take a large (25") suitcase, a carry on, and I have my purse - and that is just for warm weather clothes. I like to take plenty of clothes also because the last thing I want to do on vacation is laundry - I do enough of that at home!
As long as your luggage isn't overweight, I wouldn't worry about it. I always figure, it's better to have too much than not enough. Have a wonderful time!!

I'm leaving next week. I am taking a suitcase for each of us. I am packing for all kinds of weather. I also don't want any problems with weight limits. I always buy albums and frames. They weigh alot. I would rather bring suitcases with lots of room down, so I don't have any problems coming home. 2 yrs ago, i had to pay for extra weight.( I knew I should have bought a bag while I was there). I tend to over pack, but I would rather have extra then be sorry. It doesn't really matter, I will never be actually have to carry them anyway.

Thanks guys - I feel better now - I was also thinking about bringing souveniers home and wanted the extra space which is why I expanded to the duffel bag. A friend made a comment about how much I had and got me started on worrying about taking too much.

I see you listed the one bag weighs 58 pounds. Are you flying?? If so many of the airlines have reduced their checked bag luggage to 50 pounds per case. The fee to pay if you are over is normally quite hefty. I would definitely check with the airline to find out the weight limit, as you probably don't want to be overweight.

Have a fantastic trip. :cool1: :cool1:

First class so the weight is higher - I checked! Thanks for the heads up though. Getting very excited!!

I had no idea you could have heavier bags if flying first class. That's good to know!

I always take about twice the amount of clothes that I end up using (compulsive over-packer here!) Last year, I brought a large suitcase plus a carry-on. Didn't use half of what I brought, since I did laundry mid-trip. I don't mind taking a little break from the parks and doing a little laundry - it took me about an hour and a half and I was so glad I did it!

Next time, I plan to bring a medium size suitcase and a small carry-on (for eight days) and doing laundry again. Totally worth it not to have stuffed-to-the-brim luggage!

I always over pack. This trip I'm really over packed. We are going over Christmas & I have one big duffle bag of Christmas gifts(not wrapped yet) .I think I'm going to try & limit my clothes to one bag& wash mid week. Plus I must take a carry on, as I have to carry my breathing machine which is a pain in butt :teeth: . Plus I'll need to ship things home cause I had some things mailed right to the resort. Oh btw we are flying, so that does help how many bags you can check.

im going for 8 days. Im thinking a small rolling carry on and a duffel bag oh and a mini backpack that holds a cow and seeds.

We take as little luggage as possible. If we are only going for a few days, we'll do it in carry-on.
