How much land do you have for your home, and how much do you wish you had?

Not talking about investing in property, just how much land you have now, and how much you wish you had for your home.

I have 1/4 acre.... which is fine, since I don't want to have to mow more than that, but my dream is to have 5 - 10 wooded acres, with a stream running through it... Maybe 8 - 10 feet wide, and 2 - 3 feet deep.

almost 4 acres.....too much for us now.
New house has about 1/4 acre....much more managable.

Now just need to get this house sold, so we can move there

We have 7.25 acres. Most of it is wooded and swamp land. We have a small stream running in the back so we have lots of turtles, deer, turkeys and other wildlife living around it. I LOVE our lot as it is very secluded when you are out back by the pool. The only thing we don't have that I wish we did is an old New England stone wall....no big rocks around at all!

Almost 3/4 acre. Enough to have a yard, even w/ the pool we hope to put in next year, but small enough to mow fairly quickly.

25 acres. About 1.5 yard, 5 acres of fields around the yard that gets mowed once a month in the summer, and the back acres are woods.
We like our privacy!

5.2 acres at our main house. 2.5 acres are mowed yard, with landscaping. The "outback" behind the house is unmowed with trees. I'd like to have it mowed off like a lawn, but none of us here have the desire to be the mower, therefore it is unmown.

At the farm, we have 38 acres. We keep about 4 acres around the house and outbuildings mowed. The rest is soybeans and hay.

We only have a 42' x 120' town lot. Way too small But we would love to own at least an acre but ideally no more than 5. They don't have a smilie for 'in my dreams' lol

My dh would like that much acreage, without the woods, and in WI, the cost would be almost a million dollars.

We live in a small town and our home sits on one lot, we used to have a paint store that was torn down next to us, and our back lots are as big as our front lots. I would say, we are sitting on 2 acres in a small town. It takes my dh 2 hours to mow twice a week.

Hey, OT but where have you been? I have 2.5 acres. I mow an acre, the rest is woods with a stream running through it and I have a ceeement pond.

Currently I have almost no land, but if I had my wish...

like 1,000,000 acres.

My dream is to own land and lots of it! I grew up on a 200 acre farm and it was absolutely wonderful.

25 acres. We have our house, two barns, an outdoor riding arena, and indoor riding arena, 3 smaller paddocks and 3 large pastures.

Bliss...

But I would adore 100 acres with much of it wooded for trail riding and a good 15 acres of additional pasture.

I have 2 acres but my house backs up to a 10,000 acre park with bridal paths, fox, owls, hawks , lake etc. We also have a ceeement pond. I wish we had 8 acres. I always think of Gerald O'Hara in Gone With The Wind (an absolute fav ) when he stands looking at Tara with Katie Scarlett and says "Theres no escaping it, this love of the land if you have a drop of Irish blood. " I'm Irish and I love my little piece of sod.

We have about 3/4 acres, which is enough for us here in Savannah. Our log home in Montana has about 25 acres, with an additional 35 not attached. We have to walk through the woods about 1/4 mile to get to our closest neighbor.

I have 0.17 acres. My plot of land is 120 by 65. The house is 70 by 55. There is 10 feet between my house and the one on each side (5 feet mine, 5 feet theirs) and I have about 30 feet to the street and 20 feet to the bushes that define the border between my house and the one behind.

What is even better is that the Association handles all landscape maintenance, including mowing the lawns.

We have five acres here with the house and an additional 12 acres not attached. I would love to own at least 1000 acres. I would put my house smack dab in the middle of it and enjoy my privacy. I don't like to be able to see any neighbors!
