How much is your cell phone bill? Do you do mo. pay for each phone?

$50 GRAND TOTAL FOR 4. I pay $30 per month for my plan TMobile $30 unlimited data plan; $20 for my daughter [she's on my brother's AT&T business plan] and have my other daughter and son on ringplus FREE....my husband is through work. Ringplus requires you to have $38 in a top up account in case of overages. They get 5k talk text mms and 5gb data. 4 months in and haven't touched it.

I do have to pay for phones. So i look for deals. for example I just got a mint condition 6s for $390.

For me, dh and dd we pay $100 a month.
Unlimited talk and text. Dh and I have 2 GB data each, for $30, dd has unlimited data for $40
For my 2 dses we pay $20 every 3 months each. My youngest ds does not have any data

I purchase my phones outright so no plan, one phone.

AUD$29.90 per 28 days (USD$22.78)
3GB data which I never use
Unlimited talk and text within Australia
Unlimited international talk and text to 10 countries

$250 a month for 3 phones through Verizon. I get 22% off with my job discount. We share 30 GB of data. We do pay monthly for the 3 phones. $25 a month each. Mine will be done next month. We all have iPhone 6's and will be keeping them once they are paid off. The other two phones will be paid within 6 months.

$122 for two smartphones with Verizon Wireless and 2G shared data. We paid for the phones outright so the cost isn't in the monthly payment.

Virgin Mobile iPhone users. Two of us pay $30 a month and two of us pay $35 a month (plus taxes). So, around $140 a month unlimited talk text and data. We buy our phones outright and keep them for as long as possible, not rolled into a plan.

5 iPhones and two iPads, about $185ish through AT&T. We have an old, old 25% employee discount we've managed to hang onto, this comes off the plan only though and does not apply to the service for the devices. All devices are paid for and not financed through AT&T. We hung onto unlimited for quite some time but like a PP we realized we were paying a heck of a lot more for it than we would a family plan and it did not get used. Mine is an old 10GB Family Share plan that I got bumped up to 20GB when they were offering the double your data promo to new customers. (just called retention and told them as a long time customer I wanted it too) I have trained my family to use WiFi whenever possible and have the younger kids data use locked down. We've never come close to going over AND we can tether which comes in more handy then you would think.

OP as you can see by previous replies coming to the table with your own phone keeps the bill down significantly. If you continue to pay the $220 after your last phone is off contract you are effectively still paying for those "free" phones. I would encourage you to go over you data usage from the last year or so then go over plans that are little bit more than your average use and see how much they will run. Three new phones outright would be pretty pricey but what I did when I first switched was to go to the Next plan and then systematically payed each on off within the year. When new phones come out most companies discount the previous generation so you could go that route. Also there tons of people who have to have the latest and greatest so get new phones every year. The used market is flooded with pristine phones a year old or less for about half the cost of buying new.

I am hoping to get an idea of what people are currently paying. We are about $220/mo, includes the taxes,fees...I am told this is an old grandfathered in plan? It is self DH and 2DS(18,20).

We have Sprint-4 phones-unlimited data. 3 of our 4 phones have finished the 24 mo contract-got them for free 2 yrs ago with the black friday deals. (free with 24 mo renew of contract) 1- my DH traded his in last yr plus about $150 for the 6Sedge and 24 mo renew.

I have been scanning the ads that have come out and it looks like no more free-only do the payments and get a GC rom the store. Since our contract is up on the 3 and DH's is in a couple months, we could look to switch carriers. I just can't see adding $30/phone/month on top of $220! To buy outright we are looking at about $550 for the galaxy S7, or similar phone. I am OK with keeping mine for another yr or so but my 2 ds would like the next new one but will be fine for now if we keep them. The problem is at some point we will need new ones, they always start having issues with pics, speakers, cracks...something. This way we kept the plan on the same schedule.

What do all of you do? What are you paying? We really use the data up, and it needs to be at the HD faster streaming, not low def.

Thanks for ANY suggestions ans information. I told DH I would ck with all of you-I think I always get the best info here over random google searches!

$107 for 3 phones with unlimited data/phone/text. MetroPCS

different areas mean different plans cover better...in my area that's Verizon. I use pageplus cellular, which is a 3rd party company which runs off the verizon network. I am using a 'hand me down' iphone 5s and it works fine- my ds is on the same, he bought a samsung galaxy s5 at groupon for around $100(it's a great phone)- for 1GB data,3000 texts and 1200 call minutes per month- $30 per phone per month. It's a prepaid monthly plan.(I could get a higher data plan with another company, but like I said, I wanted verizon service) I know how to turn data on or off for the various apps if I need to(I generally keep the non essentials off while out and about, unless I have a reason to use it) but my ds has no issues with his pokemon, insta, snapchat etc stuff all the time. Also FWIW Ds bought his own phone, and pays for 1/2 his cell bill monthly (doesn't yet have a 'real' job so I pay 1/2) that's a good way to save right there!:rotfl2:

We pay $119 for unlimited data/text/calls and roaming with sprint. We have 2 iPhones 6s and 6 that we bough so we are not making payments on those.

$171 a month through sprint. We have 4 iPhone 6S's, unlimited talk and text and 40gb of data to share. I do get a 22% discount on the plan (not the phones, which are $15 per month a piece) so I think it would be closer to $200 with out the discount.

I think I pay $180 for 3 phones on the plan. We are still paying for those phones unt June. I think we have either 6 or 8 gb to share.

I pay about $33 per month for Virgin Mobile. I have an IPhone 4s. Unlimited data and texting.

15gb data shared, with rollover. ATT, 5 phones and 1 tablet.

$100 plan with $25 discount: $75
Each additional phone, $15 $75
Tablet, $10 $10

Taxes: $15 roughly

Total: $175 roughly

Phones were purchased outright.
Dh's work pays about $80 of the bill, so we pay $95-$100.

We had us uscellular. It was $250 a month. We switched to straight talk and it's $110 a month for unlimited talk and text and 10g data each line (two lines). Bought the phones outright so no fees there either.

We just purchased three new phones with Verizon. Two Galaxy 7 and one Iphone 7. 16G of data, unlimited text and talk. It's currently 250.00 a month, but once I pay the three phones off (salesman said I could do that after one payment?), it should be about 175.00, 25.00 of that being insurance. Best Buy gave us $200.00 off of each phone with a current deal. We also have to send our old phones in for credit.

$33 a month with Virgin Mobile when Target has the top up cards on sale. Unlimited everything. We have had the plan for 5 yrs and love it. Just the other day when we hit our 5 yr mark I figured it up and we have save $4200 verses Verizon for 2 phone contracts and a hot spotter. Cha Ching.

I pay $45 each ($90 total) for my phone and DH's phone. We each have unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of data with Verizon. My company reimburses me $40 of that bill.

We do not pay anything now for our phones- we bought them outright, they cost about $60 each. (We have the Verizon HTC 526.)

Cricket Wireless - 4 Smartphones with 2.5 GB each High Speed Data and then unlimited but speed throttled. $100.00 per month
We purchased all phones outright so no phone fees

My bill comes to about $145 for 5 phones on T-Mobile. 4 are smartphones and MIL's is a flip. We do have data limits: a line gets throttled if it goes over 2 Gb. We tend to use WiFi in most places other than on the road, so I think only one of us has ever gone over the 2Gb limit and that was once. I think we get 1000 minutes talk/line/month and have never come close to going over that and texting is unlimited.

We do have to buy our own phones or thru T-Mobile installments. My daughter has an iPhone 5s that is adding about $20/month to the above amount. My son, DW and myself are all on OnePlus One or Two that cost us about $300 each (very happy with those, by the way) and MIL is on a flip phone from the 1930's (jk).
