How Much is your 2015 Vacation going to cost you?

September 5-7 quick getaway (we're going to Portugal for two weeks in the summer, and a Wonder cruise in February). We're budgeting $3500, including food, deluxe accommodations and airfare. We could do it much cheaper but we like signatures. Waiting for a discount to book.

Since I switched resorts again-

1 Adult
November 5-14th
Port Orleans Riverside - Royal Room Garden View
w/ DDP
9 day park hoppers - $3,400

MVMCP ticket- $78 with tax
Airfare to and from Orlando - $126 non-stop

Hoping for a room discount, since I am going when free dining is not offered. I switched from Wilderness Lodge so I saved over $1,300 switching to POR Royal Room, adding the dining plan since I did not have the dining plan at WL. Boy those deluxe resorts are crazy expensive!

Just got back and tallied up the Spring Break trip.
1 adult, 2 kids
Universal and Disney APs (4th trip on them in 1 yr)
10 nights, 11 full days Disney and Universal Deluxe, AKL Jambo house savannah view and RPR Royal Pacific Resort (with express passes)

6 nights DVC rental: $1336
3 nights Loews AP Rate: $586
1 transition night Marriot : Points

Airfare: One way points, one way $525

Food, game room, outing and souvenirs: $950

~$3400 (could add $550 in tickets if split AP throughout all trips)
ETA: $103/per person/day

I gotta say this felt like a $10k trip!

Dates 4/28/15-5/5/15
4 adults and 1 child- Total $3,474. This includes 6-day one park per day passes, round trip direct flights from Hartford, CT., minivan rental and 7 nights in a new 3 bedroom at Regal Palms. The park tickets alone were about 50% of the cost, so I did quite well with the rest of it. It seemed like a lot until I read some of these posts! OMG! I could never drop $10K on a Disney vacation. I am not knocking anybody who does, because to each their own. But it certainly shows how expensive of a vacation it has become. We are returning in October for a convention and our room at the Corronado is paid for for Halloween week. After seeing how much the resorts can add up to, I am that much more grateful for the opportunity, because I personally could never justify it. I'd rather an oceafront room in Kauai, but that's just the way I roll.

For 2 adults, going 5/30-6/6/15...

All-Star Sports preferred room (with spring discount), 8-day park hoppers w/ water parks and more: $1860 (approximate)
My flight - US Air: $37 (used some miles)
DBF flight - US Air: $275
Blizzard Beach reserved private seating - $58.00
Hoop-De-Doo category 1 seating - $145 (approximate)

Pre-trip total as of today: $2,375.00

Forthcoming/Expected Expenses:

Memory Maker: $170
Mousekeeping: $50-60 total
Miscellaneous Tips: $250 (estimated, could be more/less)
Spending/Dining: $2,000 (VERY generous - we are not big souvenir people so I can almost bet this will be under $1k, but we want to be extra extra prepared for anything. I was once stranded at MCO for 10+ hours and thankfully had enough in reserves! I learned my lesson to bring way more than I expect to use!)
Birthday Cake: $65-75 (estimated - it is both of our birthdays and we are going hog wild haha)

Estimated: $2,555.00
Pre-Paid: $2,375.00
Total: $4,930.00 (could be over $1k less as I said.)

This is our first long Disney trip just by ourselves, and our birthdays, so we are going a bit more expensive than we normally would. This trip also had to be unexpectedly postponed 3x due to my boyfriend being in a bunch of his friends' weddings that were conveniently planned exactly during our trip dates!! I also have a feeling the DBF may surprise me with a park tour or something of the sort since he knows I have been dying to do this! Maybe some birthday magic!

We're a BIT different in the fact that we are NEVER in the room - if we're not out in the parks we are out in Orlando trying to see different things or go to different restaurants. It just makes a world of difference when you come from NYC where it seems like the frozen tundra never ends to this BEAUTIFUL weather. I have stayed in the resorts in the past, but instead of spending all of that money on a NIGHT in a room we buy things i.e. a daybed in the backyard, some light lanturns, and other nice fixtures to brings some of the elements of a deluxe resort to our home.

Our Vacation is as follows:
Room Days Inn ($35.00 a day I KNOW how awesome) x6: $175.00
2 Park Tickets for 5 days with Park Hopper = $800.00
Car Rental for 6 Days = $18.00 per day. = $108.00
2 Tickets to La Nuba 68.00 x 2 = $136.00
4 Day Cruise to the Bahamas x 2 = $600.00
2 Plane Tickets from Newark Internation to Orlando International = $480.00

Total 11 Day Vacation = $2299 divided by 2 = $1149.00 not too shabby :)

I'm sure I'll stay at the resorts again in the future but for us to NOT stay in the rooms I can't justify the cost.

We're in the "bit different" club too. Being from MA, I am all too familiar with the frozen tundra, especially this year! Disney is the one vacation that doesn't really center around the hotel since we spend most of our time away from it. I got a condo for $71/night and that was splurging. The main reason for even getting that was needing 3 bedrooms and wanting to have a place to cook some of the meals.

I couldn't justify an oceanfront room in Kauai because while the hotel may cost the same or less...flying 5 people from ATL to Hawaii and a rental car versus driving 7 hours is such a huge cost difference that it makes Disney the more affordable vacation for right now.
You are also traveling at a non-peak time. Even the off-site rental houses aren't $71/night in June/July (or over holidays) when we can go since I work for a school district.

We are the exact same way! I have stayed at a moderate twice, most recently for our overnight for NYE, but we really are not in the rooms much at all. We find we would rather splurge on dining and experiences, and save on the room since we don't really require much of our rooms, at least at Disney.

No clue about the May trip since I'm not paying for it. For October, however...

9 nights; POR Standard View: $1,363.23/2 = $682
Flight (RT): $340
Disney park tickets: $0 (AP still valid)
MNSSHP & MVMCP tickets: $167
Universal tickets: $256 (basic AP to be used again next year)
Shuttle to/from Universal for two days: $40
Tables in Wonderland: $100/2 = $50
Food: $1,000 - TiW 20% = $800
Spending money & other miscellany: $1,000 (not going to use all of it, but just in case)

TOTAL: $3,335 (will probably be ~$3,000 in the end)

I have all the right totals now that we purchased air.
Total of 17 days:yay:

POP Century standard view
2 adults, 1 disney adult and 1 child
8 days MYW with WP&F
Memory Maker
Free QSDP
Dates are 8/22 to 9/6
Total 3508.00 for 14 nights

Pop century standard room for 2 nights 219.62
Roundtrip airfare 916.40
Frozen premium package again 246.00
Crystal palace 100.00
Hollywood and Vine 100.00

Around 5,100.00 for 17 days. I have around a 5,000.00 budget. We were thinking about a moderate but it would add another 1400.00. I would rather go for longer.

6 days onsite split CBR/BC (orbitz+spring discount) $1208 (pd already)
RT airfare for 5 for 5 +rental car for 12 days +baggage fees $2135 (pd)
5 day PH x 4 adults, 1 child $1700 (planning on adding a day there so +~$60) (pd)
Feel the Force PP $315 (pd)
Memory maker $169
est food (includes Sci fi galactic breakfast)~$1500
so for Disney portion ~7087 or ~$236 per person per day

We are then moving to our timeshare (for inclusive sake-exchange fee $175-2 bedroom at Sabal Palms)(pd)
Universal tix--$980(pd)
1 night club level RPR $315(pd)
Universal food~$250 + est souvenirs ~200
+ more food for condo~$150

I estimated high for food, and lower for souvenirs this trip as kids got everything they wanted last year (thought it would be only trip for awhile so had large vacation budget-which only about 50% we spent-rest sat in vacation account-thus basis for another trip:))
All told ~$150-160 per person per day(before cash back etc)

Does not include orbucks (from orbitz) applied to Uni hotel, ebates cash back and bonus Disney gift cards (disney movie rewards, reward redemption card from Disney premier VIsa offer, CC rewards cashback)-currently at >$500 total

Not that bad for 5 people, 12 days, 6 parks, swimming, resorts, entertainment, and we have time to see old friends living in the area this trip:)
I put "pd" behind the things totally already paid for.

yeah - lot of money, but I can't take it with me when I die, the house will always be there, but our children will grow up and you don't get a "redo" on memories with family...41 days til Family Vacation!

November 14-21
CBR Pirate room water view
2 adults, 2 children over 10
free dining
7 day ticket plus hoppers
$3695

Also looking at another $275 for MVMCP
and we'll probably bring another $1000 for gas (driving from Nashville), souvenirs, and other incidentals.

Overall it'll be close to $5K. :faint: lol

2 adults All-Star Movies Resort Preferred room December 4th-9th
6-day Park Hoppers
DDP
$2,127.00

Budgeting $1000.00 for fun stuff but probably will not spend it all.

We haven't booked our airfare yet but expect it to add another $600-$700 to the total.

This is our 1st trip to Disney World, it is 2 Adults and 2 Disney Adults (14 and 12)

7 days/6 nights AKL Standard View w/ 7 day PH
Free Dining Promotion

$4500 (This portion is all but paid off.)

We have another $2000 budgeted for OOP meals, souvenirs, gas, ect. I highly doubt we will use all of it. I'm thinking more in the $1000 range.

So $5500-$6500...The way we justified going over our initial budget is that while we love Disney, we definitely could not see ourselves making it a yearly trip. There are other places we would love to visit (like Universal). The next time we go will probably be in 2017 or 2018. This is also the perfect time for our youngest to experience AKL. She wants to be a large game or livestock veterinarian, this is right in her wheelhouse. I expect to find her down by the viewing areas often!

I was excited when we thought we were staying at CBR, now that we are "going big" I literally can not wait!:yay:

We booked ASMu family suite for 7 nights. Regular dining plan- NOT quick service. 5 day base tix for 2 adults, 2 kids, plus 1 under 3 (free). We purchased travel insurance. Our total was just over $4200. We need $200 for gas money round trip, $35 mouse keeping tips, $250 for dining tips.... $4685 before spending money.....I plan to bring around $600 for spending money, whatever incidentals like laundry, pressed pennies, etc.... Bringing our total to....

$5285.....ish. Lol

This is our first trip EVER so I'm looking forward to compiling a list of spending (like breakfast items from the food court, any extra snacks, how much our actual meals were to weigh against the DDP....)

Since this is our Disneymoon, DF and I decided to stay at the Deluxe resorts by renting DVC points.
We booked three nights at Polynesian, two nights at POFQ and six nights at AKV for a total of eleven nights at $2195. We are dining at V&A's one meal and are budgeting a total of $1800 for food. We will be getting seven day park-hopper tickets through a work corporate site for the discounts (and we also have almost $200 worth of points that will count towards the tickets), and we have enough SW points that we will have free airfare from Denver. So including spending money about $5000-6000.
