How much is too much for you?

Last summer, they completely closed down two loops while were there....... They are hurting, trust me.

We were there for 3 weeks in August last year and there were 4 loops closed and the rest of the loops only had 5 sites or less that were occupied. It was like a ghost town. Except fo the weekends, when the "locals" came in.

We have been camping at FW for almost 20 years and that was the least crowded that I have ever seen it.

We have photos from last November of most of the 800 loop completely empty with the exception of a handful of sites at the beginning and end.

800 was packed for the 4th and around the 5th or 6th you'd have thought the plague hit there. It was almost scary to see as that's a very popular loop. Disney knows better than anybody how to turn a buck so my money is on them doing something about this. I doubt anything will be free but I see some discounts.

800 loop is packed every weekend if you loop almost all the people there are Fl residents and most are friends and come every week or two just to be at the Fort and party

This was the full week before Thanksgiving week - although most of WDW was a ghost town that week, even the parks!

I never seen the Fort 100% full. I have seen it 3% full and as much may be a 85% full but never 100%

.....I can see where those that are somewhat more local to the Fort..whether it's a half hour..or a few hours away, are more likely to cut back on weekend/ or long weekend type of excursions that they may have previously taken due to the increase in the site fee's.
Seems like a dopey time for Disney to raise the rates, and availability of the full hook up sites. With the economy being what it is, and people watching where their hard earned dollars are being spent. I think people are willing to spend..but they just want their monies worth. Not be offered less for more money.
You just described our situation to a "T". A couple years ago we went to the Fort every couple months at least and during the nice weather months every couple of weeks. But we have not been to the fort since last Halloween and might not be back until this Halloween. With the cost of sites and golf cart rental its easily over $100 a day and throw in a boat rental and a meal or two and you are talking about a $500 weekend and that's not even going to a park. We can go to a state park for less than $50. I know that's really not a fair comparison but with jobs being lost and work hour cut backs that's just a better use of our money. We will still try to sneak in a couple bare bones trips to the Fort. (No golf carts or extras) But our multi long weekend and two week real vacation will have to be somewhere else.
