How Much Fun Can You Pack into 6 Days? Lots of Pics! Updated TODAY!

Thanks - Hey I get it!! Tattooed Disney Mom :lmao: Too funny. I'll try to keep the report up. I'll try to post a new chapter every day of the work week since I'm so long-winded. It may still take me a good month to do the whole trip.

Yep - you got it!:thumbsup2

I wouldn't call ya long winded. I would say entertaining. Take your time, we'll stick around.;)

Keep them coming! I am trying to put bags together for our trip in October. Loved your shirts!
Your doing a wonderful job of making me feel your families excitment:thumbsup2

DISclaimer: There is no actual picking up of sticks in this chapter. I just couldn't come up with a better chapter title. I could have made up a story that involves stick-picking-up or even stick ponies, but that would be dishonest and I'm nothing if not dishonest...

Wait that didn't come out right! Oh well, too late now.

Yeah! We finally make it into a park! Alright!!!!

Not so fast - quick sidetrack….

Okay, as I was saying before, the CM handed Donnie Jr. the bags - which were supposed to be left on the beds in their room  and he hands them off to his family. He also assumes that the bags were little gifts from the resort so we had to set him straight :teacher:

We then send him over to the concierge desk to get the 2 extra days added to his park hopper ticket. I tell him (twice) "Do not let them charge you more than $5 per person. It should only cost you $5 per person. $20 plus tax." See how I added it up all nicely for him so why does he come back with a receipt for $60 - 4 people at $15 per person :furious:

"DIDN'T I TELL YOU NOT TO LET THEM CHARGE YOU MORE THAN $5 PER PERSON???? DO YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT? I AM A DISER!!!!!"

Farrah quickly snatches the cards and the receipt and hightails it back to the concierge to get it straightened out. She's back lickety split and we go upstairs so that the Dallas crew can see their home for the next four days.

We then head back down stairs to catch a bus to ANIMAL KINGDOM!!!!

The Dallas crew starts grumbling about being hungry but we are doing our best to ignore them. We told them that we'd eaten at the AKL food court but they would have to eat in Animal Kingdom. I had been in Disney World for too many hours to say that I hadn't been in a park yet. I was feeling withdrawal pangs. And besides, if they had paid attention in flight school like they should have they would have been able to charter a plane and fly down here on their own when their commercial flight was delayed. .

Yep, that's how badly I was ready to go to Animal Kingdom.

After I dispelled that little bit of logic they quieted down. It's probable that fear for their life was the cause of their silence :scared::rotfl:

We finally got to AK!

Don't you just love the music that's playing on the bus when you arrive?

Jasmine, Kemarr and Kia had already been in AK for about an hour and a half and had been calling us with updates on the wait times and crowd level. It was about 5 o'clock, but it was an EMH evening! Woo Hoo!! We got our wristbands and headed out!!!

Here's a picture of them at the AK sign
025_25.jpg

They met us as we walked into the park and we all headed to EE together!!! There was a 5 minute wait! Woohoo!!!

I start feeling queasy, like I really don't want to do this as our train pulls up to the station, but there are too many little kids that would point and laugh at me if I were to chicken out so I get on. Yes, I have ridden EE before. On the last day of our 2006 trip Farrah and Jasmine talked me into riding it and I loved it!!! I was sorry that I hadn't tried it earlier so that I could have ridden even more. We rode it 6 times in a row before it was time to head back to the airport. On the bus ride back home we met the yeti-man!!! I believe he was up to 500 rides at the time. He's up to 1245 times now. You can even see our picture on his website www.yeti-man.com.

*Alright, Tamara, back to this year's trip*

Anyway, I rooster up and get on the ride. Here are a some shots from the top of the world

Here's the view to your right as you're going up the track and into the mountain:

You can see the top of the Tree of Life

Here's the view to your left:

SD530878.jpg

You can see the Epcot ball, Tower of Terror, and the Swan and Dolphin resorts

Here's a pic of the Yeti cloth that you travel under as you head into the mountain:

Here's a picture of the broken track you get to just before you start to go backwards:

SD530881.jpg

After riding EE, we headed over to FlameTree Barbeque to partake of another CS credit.

Then we headed to Dinoland!!!

028_28.jpg

We rode Primeval Whirl, which is one of my favorite riders and Farrah's least favorite. Donnie Jr. didn't like it either. Of course Jasmine thought it was childish. Ayeshia wasn't allowed to ride Primeval Whirl or Expedition Everest (remember she's in a family way). Kenya did ride EE (not willingly) but she didn't want to ride Primeval Whirl.

Next, we headed to DINOSAUR!!!

026_26.jpg

I HATE this ride!! HATE IT! HATE IT! HATE IT! Which really means I fear it. I don't usually ride it but since everyone else was riding I got on. Even Ayeshia rode this one, however we realized during the middle of the ride that this probably wasn't a good idea. I, as usual, closed my eyes as soon as the doors opened and we entered the vortex of hell!!! Everyone says how nice it is in the inside, but I swear I'll never know. Farrah tries to convince me that my imagination is worse than the actual ride, but I'll never be able to make a fair comparison, because I refuse to get on that ride and keep my eyes open!!!

After dropping off our Iguanadon, or whatever it is we picked up right before the asteroids came and killed off all living things, we headed back to Everest. We rode 4 times straight. We tried to convince Donnie to let Ayeshia ride at least one time but he didn't want to hear us so Kenya stayed with her to keep her company. It was amazing how we just walked right through the lines.

We then headed to Kali River Rapids. Everyone rode this one but me. I didn't want to get wet. Jasmine got the big soak on that ride but every one of them got wet!

Following Kali River Rapids, we headed deeper into Africa for Kilimanjaro Safari but when we got there, there was a cast member turning people around. It turns out that Kilimanjaro Safari closes at 7:00 on EMH days. He offered us a virtual safari but we said no thanks. We decided to head back to the resort and play around in the pool. Farrah and I sat in the pool for a while then we found the hot tub and stayed there until we were ready to head back to the room.

It was a good day and we got a lot done, but now it's time for bed because tomorrow we are headed to Magic Kingdom!!!!

I'm so happy I brought back such happy memories for you. :rolleyes1

Smarty pants!
I actually haven't had vienna sausages since I was too young to know what I was eating.

Every now and then, when I was quite young, my mom would send them with saltine crackers for lunch. They'd be in this pop top can, packed in this scientific looking gel.:scared: I would always be mortified.:scared:

I know your mom is going to be blown away. That resort is awesome!!!

I hope I can convince her to go with us one day. She's affraid to fly and we refuse to drive. She has said that she will maybe take a train and meet us there for one of our trips.

I am loving your report. Writing must run in your family. They are beautiful by the way.:)

Hi MamaPrincess. Thanks for keeping up with me.

I'll be working on today's installment at lunch time so it should be up today! I've downloaded the pictures and a video for it!!!

Whaddaya know! I'm becoming a techie!!!

We were starting our second day at Magic Kingdom! We had the wake up call set for 6:30 because we wanted to be at MK before rope drop. We called Donnie and the Dallas crew down in room 4018 and they got up and started getting ready but when we called Kenya and her girls they groaned on the phone.

We got dressed. I rubbed on a little extra deodorant for all of the people I would meet in the park who would either forget to put some on or never even thought to put some on. :sad2:

We knocked on Kenya's door to see if they were ready but didn't get an answer so Farrah called her cell. They were still asleep! Oh well, we weren't waiting for them. We met the Dallas crew and headed out to the bus stop.

I know a lot of people do not like the Disney busses and would rather take their car or a cab, but I'll tell you… for me Disney transportation is the only way to go. Yes, it's kind of upsetting when you're trying to get to Downtown Disney from a park and you realize that you can't, but I'd still rather take a bus than try to find my way in a car. I tend to get very nervous when I'm driving in unfamiliar territory…uncomfortably nervous… flatulently nervous. You get my whiff.. I mean, my drift?

Okay, back to the bus, which smells like someone's been very nervous on it already :snooty:.

We ride to MK with no incident and make our way into the home of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin!!!!!

Here's a picture of the Magic Kingdom Train Station with the Year of A Million Dreams Banner:

And here is our requisite picture of the castle:

SD530766.jpg

No Donnie did not give Jasmine and Ayeshia bunny ears at the last minute. I knew he was doing it when I took the picture. After I snapped the picture, the both socked him for it.

(okay I have some pictures of the gowns made out of dolls on Main Street but my cd just stuck in the drive and I can't get them uploaded. I'll add them as soon as I can get someone from Tech Support to liberate my CD.)

Here is Jasmine and Anesha's version of a hidden Mickey. Can you find it?

SD530768.jpg

We headed straight over to Tomorrowland, as is tradition. Farrah, Jasmine, Donnie, Myeshia and Anesha go straight to Space Mountain and Ayeshia and I ride the TTA/People Mover.

Ayeshia is a rollercoaster rider, so the TTA was a let down for her, even the high speed curves didn't impress her and "Paging Mr. Morrow… Mr. Tom Morrow" was lost on her. She looked at me like I had just lost my mind when I started laughing at that. Hey, don't look at me like that. I didn't get you pregnant :lmao:

By the time we got off of TTA, the others were back from SM. The younger crew wanted to ride Stitch's Great Escape so Farrah went with them while Donnie, Ayeshia and I went to hear about the future that is the past that is Carousel of Progress. There was only about four families total waiting to see COP so we basically got to sit where ever we wanted and didn't have to worry about filling in all available seats. There were about four non-American men that sat down right in front of us and talked LOUDLY to each other and/or on their cell phones the whole time. At one point, I leaned over to them and said "Just because I can't understand you; doesn't mean I can't hear you." But they just looked at me and continued talking. I guess they couldn't understand me either.

After COP, we waited for the others and got in line for BUZZ!!!

Not Zzub, there was no line waiting for him. And if there was, I doubt I'd get in it.

Actually, there really wasn't a line for Buzz either. We got on, got dismal points and got off. Then we…
GOT ON AGAIN. Got slightly less dismal points and got off.

Next we headed to the Tomorrowland Speedway. As we were waiting in the always-too-long line, we saw this guy:

SD530771.jpg

He had actually just finished primping the flowers. You tend to take these types of jobs for granted when you are in a place where perfection is commonplace, so we were really taking this picture to honor him, instead it looks like he's about to take a crap in the bushes - with his bucket nonetheless. Sorry about that dude. You rock…

We roll on… it's time to feel the wind whip against our faces as we bank curves at a whopping two miles an hour. :car:

SD530772.jpg

The people ahead of me must have really had their pedal to the metal. I couldn't get by them. :drive:

Next up is the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Alice and the Mad Hatter were giving autographs but their lines were too long so we went to the Tea Party without them.

SD530773.jpg

SD530774.jpg

Donnie Jr. and Anesha were talking trash about racing us in the Teacups but Jasmine and I were not having that. It was on… like Donkey Kong (remember that game). The object was to go as fast as possible without stopping!
Want to know who won? You be the judge.

I guess you notice who gave up first! The purple team is victorious!!! :cheer2:

"Donnie, the secret is to keep your eyes on the spinner and just forget everyth… Hey where are you going?" Sore loser

Toon Town is next. Farrah, Donnie, Ayeshia and I get on Goofy's Barnstormer while Jasmine, Anesha and Myeshia got to see Minnie's and Mickey's House. There was no one in line. We just walked right on, yet the line was still longer than the ride :confused3: When we pulled back in there wasn't anyone waiting to get back on so we were told if we wanted to stay on don't get up. We stayed on the ride and was back in about 30 seconds. That was enough for us. As we got off the ride, Jasmine, Anesha and Myeshia were getting on, they rode and caught up with us as we were walking down the ramp

We then headed to Frontierland to ride the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!! The line was a walk on for BTMRR too but that didn't stop me from getting this picture:
SD530781.jpg

I just love that sign. Lytum & Hyde Explosives Company :lmao: Ingenius!

Next, we headed to my nemesis, Splash Mountain.

Let me give you a little back ground on my relationship with Splash: I have always been deathly afraid of it, but I've hidden it from my family very well.

1. In the summer/spring: "I'm not getting in that line, it's a 75 minute wait"

2. In the fall/winter: "I'm not getting on that ride, it's too cold to get wet"

Well, there was no wait this time and it wasn't too cold to get wet, so I would just have to point-blank refuse. However, I really wanted to conquer my fear but I really didn't want to get wet.

Farrah promised me that you don't get very wet so I went ahead and bit the bullet. The entire time I told her that I didn't want to get wet and the entire time she assured me that I wouldn't get wet.

When we got in line a cm handed us this little beauty:

SD530782.jpg

We took a picture because that may be the closest we get to a Dream FastPass, or will it?

So do you want to know if I got wet on Splash Mountain

No, I didn't get wet…

I GOT SOAKED!!!

And it wasn't even the plunge that did it. As we are lazily drifting along and round the bend in front of the drop a log comes down and splashes us then another one comes and splashes us AGAIN!!!

I cursed a blue streak and called Farrah everything but a child of God. But I got over it.

Will I ever ride Splash Mountain again? Definitely!

***

That's it for today.

Join me again tomorrow to hear whether Kenya and her girls ever wake up and if Donnie's Birthday Dinner at Coral Reef (the only other thing I planned) came off without a hitch.

See ya!

Great trip report and your family is C-U-T-E! Was it fun to go to WDW with them, a study in patience OR BOTH? I'm traveling to the world with my family in November - hope we all come back alive! Family - gotta love 'em! Thanks for letting all of us in on your trip! :goodvibes

WOW~~~~ How did I miss all of this?

So sorry I'm late!

First of all I WANT A SHIRT TOO!!! As soon as I saw them I went. "OOOOOOOH"! (then I forgot I was at work and shouldn't do that :rolleyes1 ) So sorry the CMs didnt leave them on the bags like you asked them too.

I could imagine how proud you were over-hearing how happy everyone was with the resort! It is trully amazing when you first walk in the lobby!

I think you did good hanging out at AKL as long as you did without going to the park! I think I would've started to scream, and then just walked out to the shuttle stop!

And you did something I still can't: get on Splash Mountain. That drop looks horrible!

Well, I'm glad I checked in! I still can't believe that I've missed so much! You GO Sneezie! This report is alot of fun!

It was ALOT of fun going to Disney with my family. We are a close family and get along very well. I think what really helped was that we didn't plan alot of our trip. That way if someone wanted to do something that the others didn't want to do it was okay and there wasn't one commando person trying to tell everyone what we HAD to be doing at any particular time.

For example, the morning we went to MK, Kenya and her girls slept late. Everybody else was totally cool with it. They didn't expect us to wait for them and we didn't waste time trying to make them come with us.

It was a very peaceful trip, well as peaceful as it can be with three teens and two pre-teens. We are definitely doing it again.

WOW~~~~ How did I miss all of this?

I have been a trip-writing commando. I really want to get through this whole report. It is bringing back so many memories.

However, I'm waiting on Tech Support to come and fish out my picture CD that has gotten stuck in the disk drive.

I don't know how I'm going to explain that. :sad2:

I just found your tr and I'm having a blast:thumbsup2 reading it. You are too funny with your report and really have a knack for writing:cool1: ! Your family is so great looking :cool2: and I can't wait to hear more. What dates were you all in the world?

Did it cost a lot to get your shirts embroidered and where did you get them, if you don't mind me asking:rolleyes1 ? They look pretty cool :cool1: and would be great for our upcoming trip.

Wow - I never realized you can see all that from the top of EE! Very cool.

Same thing happened to me on Splash Mountain - wasn't the drop that got me wet, but just the drifting and splashing.:lmao:

Very good updates! Love them!:thumbsup2

Aww! You're too kind
What dates were you all in the world?

We arrived on Wednesday, Sept 5th and stayed until Monday, Sept. 10th

Did it cost a lot to get your shirts embroidered and where did you get them, if you don't mind me asking:rolleyes1 ? They look pretty cool :cool1: and would be great for our upcoming trip.

We got the green shirts for only $2 at Michael's! :cheer2: The gray shirts were $4 at Wal-Mart. We found a lady who did the embroidery for $5 each!

Sneezie!
I feel like I know you... like Glendamax has introduced us!
Happy to discover your TR early on.

Hey Nanny, this is Jasmine, I tink (think) your story was great. :thumbsup2 I just don't like the part when you said I act like a BUTT on all the other trips, I didn't do it all the time, but another than that part, yeah it was cool.

However, I'm waiting on Tech Support to come and fish out my picture CD that has gotten stuck in the disk drive.
I don't know how I'm going to explain that. :sad2:
I am sooo sorry. But you KNOW this has happened to some other DISers before. Just act really nonchallant about it. I doubt it'll be a problem. Stay cool! :rolleyes1

:surfweb:

Guess it's not a high priority item to them.

Whoever changed the pic size. Thanks very much. I didn't know how to change it.

Hey Sneezie

Just read the last installment. Your writing is so vivid. I feel like I'm on the trip with you. I can't wait for more.
