Sorry it took so long to get back, but from what I've noticed I haven't taken as long as some others.
Without further ado
.
When we got off of Splash Mountain, Kenya, KeMarr and Kia were waiting for us. They'd finally gotten up, dressed and made their way to Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately for them, we were about to leave MK to head to Epcot, we had reservations at Coral Reef for 1:20 and it was almost noon.
As we were heading through Adventureland to the park exit, we stopped off and rode Pirates of the Caribbean. Everyone loved POTC, but it was time to head to Epcot.
Farrah was the only person I've told about the surprise I'd set up for Donnie Jr.'s birthday. And we were both excited to see everybody's reaction.
We got out of Magic Kingdom and headed up the ramp to the Epcot monorail - just as it was pulling out

So we had to wait. But that was okay because we were able to get Jasmine, Myesha, Anesha, and KeMarr into the driver's car on the next monorail. Kia opted to stay with her mom, which also worked out well since only 4 people were allowed to ride in the front car.
By the time we got to Epcot we were huffing it. I told everyone that I would run ahead (with a group of ten you're only as fast as the slowest person and we had a pregnant woman with us) and check us in. I really wanted to get to the restaurant before Donnie Jr. to make sure everything was set up. However, when I got there, there was a line out the door and by the time I checked in my group had caught up with me. I caught a look at the screen and noticed that my running time was at 7 minutes by the time I got there. So, considering the line I had to stand in I wasn't as late as I originally thought I was.
I tried to use eye rolls and hand gestures to ask the cm behind the counter if the "surprises" were ready, but she must have understood a different dialect

: So I just put my faith in Disney's hands and sat down to wait for them to call our group.
And waited
..
And waited
.
And waited
.
And wai
"Sneeze Party of Ten!"
That's us!!!
We got a wonderful table on the first tier, not alongside the aquarium but facing the aquarium. Of course, I knew we would not be alongside the aquarium with a party of 10 people, but this table was as close to awesome as I could imagine.
Our server, I don't remember her name - she wasn't very memorable, came for our drink orders. She passed everyone a regular menu
.
Yes, EVERYONE!!!
Donnie Jr. included.
I really thought she had the personalized menu because I noticed that she had regular menus but she also had something else in her hand with them, which I assumed was the personalized menu, but it turned out to be the aquarium guides for the table.
Oh well,
. I'd heard that the menu and diver don't always happen so I just blew it off. Nice try Tamara!
A little while later, we are enjoying looking at the sea life in the aquarium and our appetizers and the WONDERFUL comp bread! I had the lobster bisque and it was very good with the comp bread and Donnie had the crab cakes (he didn't care for them). I don't know what everyone else had, but the appetizers got mixed reviews. As we're eating Donnie Jr. turns to me to tell me something and something in the aquarium catches his eye.
Here's what he saw (sorry it's so fuzzy)
The sign said "Happy 30th Birthday Donnie with love from the family!"
Everybody started pointing and talking at once. The diver was gone so fast, though, that we couldn't even get Donnie over there to take a picture. But that's okay everyone was very excited.
When no one was looking I asked our waitress about the personalized menu and she told she would check on it.
Our dinner comes out. I had the steak and as you can see from the picture:
I really enjoyed it!
Donnie Jr. had the pork chop and as you can see from his picture:
He really enjoyed his too!
Donnie Jr. is an executive chef for the Marriott hotels so he is very critical of other people's cooking. It's like going to lunch at a dive with a food inspector. He will give credit where credit is due, however and I think Coral Reef deserved some credit for their pork chop.
As we waited for our dessert, I explained to Donnie how he was supposed to have the personalized menu and how disappointed I was that they messed it up, but he just shook it off. He was happy with the diver (even though the sign said (Happy 30th Birthday and he's 29) Well, you can imagine my surprise when our server comes over to the table and hands Donnie Jr. this:
At least that one said 29th!
Question: if you have had this done before, do you getusually get the sign from the diver, because we didn't get the sign that the diver displayed and I thought it was kind of strange - I mean what can they do with the sign after they show besides throw it away?
