How Much Does Your House Resemble Your DVC?

A post on another thread got me wondering how many people out there have houses who's style, either on the interior or the exterior, resemble where they bought DVC?

I actually didn't realize it until today! My house looks like VWL!:rotfl:

Anybody else?

We own at SSR and AKV, but our family room looks more like BCV! We have a beach theme going in there! :beach:

In our old home we re modeled the master whirlpool tub to have shutters opening into the master bedroom (stole this idea from Disney since our masterbath was too dark).

Recently we built a new house. The kids always comment on the little "toilet room" we have in within the master bath. It reminds them of DVC villas.

Didn't think of it before, but it's kind of sad our Disney style is all bathroom related!

My house (interior) is probably a cross between Boardwalk and Beach Club.
I love my DVC!!!

Mine is a 100-year-old house that's somewhat Craftsman - white with green trim. Nothing like BLT. And it doesn't get housekeeping anywhere near as often as every 4th day. :rotfl2:

Funny you just started this conversation. My son just found that JCPenney.com has Disney Resort Themed bedding! We've been adding to our BCV themed master bedroom for years. Now there's a bedding set and I do love it! They have 4 themes: The Grand Floridian, The Polynesian, The Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Yacht and Beach Club.

I think he read it in the recent newsletter that came in the mail a few weeks ago.

The rest of my house isn't necessarily Disney. Well, there is that permanent display of Main Street Houses on top of the piano...

Dreaming as my home just looks like a normal home... complete with too many kid toys.

I own AKV, but if I could have my house interior look like any, it'd be BWV.

Exterior... I'm no sure... I don't want to be brown bagging the gifts those giraffes leave behind so I think I'll go with VWL (read: river, waterfall, giezers :goodvibes )

I have never thought about it, but I recently bought new furniture that is dark wood tones very much like AKV style! :) I've always liked that style guess that's why we bought AKV!

It is tough to replicate OKW in a small town in CT, but my home certainly does have a Disney feel. Most rooms on the first floor have a little bit of Disney from framed photos that I have taken at WDW to pieces of artwork that we have purchased there over the years.

Clearly, anyone who walks into our home can tell that we are Disney fans.

We moved to a new house a few years back, but the family room in our old house was decorated like OKW. We had the wood blinds with the cloth strips and painted it in colors similar to the OKW villa. Guess the new owners didn't care much for the florida color palette, they have since repainted it red.

While not all of our decor is DVC, almost all is Disney related. I've posted some of these in the past, but will break them out again here.

Our master bathroom is modelled after an OKW 1BR master bath with the jacuzzi tub and shower ( I don't have a pic of the shower). We have a collection of over 100 production drawings and cels used in making Disney animations. These are all displayed in the hallways, family room, living room, kitchen, bedrooms and all over the house. We also have a number of Disney themed furniture pieces (from the old "Disney-at-Home" store in DD). Some of the Disney furniture is pretty subtle and most won't notice the Disney design until it's pointed out.

This is a production cel from the 1940 Fantasia:

Our third bedroom, used as a guest room, has been completely redone in African decor. We have a tribal shield mirror, a tapestry from Kenya, animal print pillows and rugs and we absolutely love it. It is our "AKV home away from home."
I go in there and close my eyes and put the African music on my ipod and pretend I am at AKV.
I would post pictures but I am not sure how to do it.

What a great thread idea! :thumbsup2

We have owned at VWL since 2002. And bought a room of WL
furniture during a furniture changeover in 2006 or so. We have the
queen bed, comforter, bedside tables, buffalo wall lamps, bear decorated
TV armoire, bathroom mirrors (and we bought an extra), small dressers,
2 upholstered chairs, wood table, green patio table and 2 webbed
patio chairs and room drapery. And inside a drawer were 2 hairdryers.

We're re-doing our home to be mission/arts & crafts/Wilderness Lodge.
Seems like we're on our way!

Wow, WebmasterDoc... your house is incredible! It is so tastefully decorated in Disney! I especially like your chair with the subtle Mickey heads.

My almost 20-year-old DS is moving down to Oregon soon to start his career as an EMT. I had decided a few years ago that when he was no longer using his bedroom that I wanted to turn it into a Disney-themed room. We have several things to add, but I have been trying to find Mickey bedding. I want something subdued, perhaps vintage-looking. I don't want anything with primary colors. Does anyone know where I might find something? TIA :)

I own at BLT and live in a high-rise condo in a small city. The rest of the neighborhood thought our building was "too modern" with its angular design and multi-colored buildings. I'll see if I can't find a photo somewhere to post.

Our place looks a lot like VWL on the inside, that is why we bought there. However I grew up in a Queen Anne Victorian, and SSR exterior looks just like my parents house, and many in the neighborhood.
