How Much does the Tables in Wonderland card cost?

I know you have to have an annual pass - with two trips planned this year for me I will be getting a pass, but wondering if the Tables in Wonderland is worth the cost? It I did that we wouldn't do a dining plan. Yes, we like to have adult drinks. ;) Just trying to figure out if it's worth it. We've always done the dining plan in the past and found it to give us more food than needed, but it was nice to not have to worry about prices!

It is $75 for annual passholders. The break-even point is $375 in eligible food and beverages. That is not very hard to accomplish on more than one trip, especially with alcohol factored in.

I always have a TiW card. But, still...every single trip I go on, I still sit down with pencil and paper and figure out my dining costs both ways.. I pretty much know where and what we'll be eating. Sometimes I go alone, sometimes with just my 17 y/o dd, sometimes dh goes with us..it varies.
Figure out where you'll want to eat (and what). Then, figure what the cost of that would be out of pocket, plus tips. Then, figure what your cost would be with the DDP..don't forget to add in the tips for each sit down meal..many forget to do that.
When I figure what my dining costs will be using the TiW card, I just don't add in the tip....it's a wash for me. And usually, the way we eat, the TiW card comes out cheaper. I bought a new one for our family trip on July 31. It has paid for itself now.....and I still have 9 or so days to go at WDW before the card expires for the year.

If the DDP works for you, you can still use the TiW card for adult beverages, as well as anything not covered by the DDP...but it may not pay for itself nearly as quickly.

TiW works perfect for us. We like adult beverages with meals, we don't like desserts, we love apps, we like to split lots of different courses so we can try alot of different dishes, we like to eat at the Swolphin eateries which have been added to TiW. We usually get 2 decent trips out of an AP/TiW. The card is paid for halfway thru the first trip & the rest is gravy.

Basically, it covers our tips. But that adds up since our tabs are usually pretty good sized.

Do you just plan on giving a 20% tip and that's your TiW discount? It basically covers the tip? (Which can add up)

Does the TiW work at counter service and snack stops?

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Tipping must be discussed on the Tipping Information Sticky Thread at the top of the forum, but I'll mention that the TIW automatic tip is 18%, not 20%.

TIW is accepted at only nine CS locations: the four value resort food courts, the food court at Port Orleans French Quarter, the counter service location (Artists Palette) at Saratoga Springs Resort, and three counter service locations (Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus, and Flame Tree Barbecue) at the Animal Kingdom park. It is not accepted at any snack or beverage kiosks.

So - the card would not give me a discount if I wanted to just get a drink in EPCOT?

Hmmmm... I've got to go crunch some numbers.

We have been able to use our TiW card for cocktails at some of the restaurant lounges, but I've heard that not all of them will accept TiW. I believe that the lounge at AKL was one that didn't. We love our TiW card and plan to continue to get APs so that we can get the TiW. We've done DDP, but prefer TiW. As another poster mentioned, we like to get appetizers and don't always like to get a dessert. The fact that adult beverages are discounted is a very nice feature. Thanks to TiW we have been very proactive about patronizing the signature restaurants. We're looking forward to going to Il Mulino and Shula's on our next trip.

Bummer. The second trip I'm going on we're staying at AKL! Thanks for the info. I do have a bunch of signature restaurant ADRs for one of the trips - so those would use up two table-credits - and I don't think they'd be worth it with the dining plan!

We are definately going to break even then, it is costing us (a party of 7, well 6 and a baby) 275 dollars to eat at Cindy's for breakfast.

Not unless you buy the drink in a bar/lounge (Rose & Crown is the only one that accepts TIW in Epcot) and you'd pay a tip on it.

Victoria Falls at AKL Jambo House is supposed to accept TIW, I believe it's on the list. However, they often say they won't accept it. I've had this happen also. I think it's because they don't want to summon a manger up from Jiko to approve the discount.

If you want to drink at AKL and be sure you can use TIW, get your drinks at the bar in the Jiko waiting area. The bar at Sanaa will also accept it if you go over to AKV.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents in here. We almost always do the dining plan and we also have the TIW card. For us it is very worthwhile as we go 3-4 times a year and use it for meals paid OOP (we like to do 2 point dinners) and also drinks. IMHO you really have to figure out if it worth it for YOU. Everyone's style of dining is different.

Enjoy The Magic!!!

Good to know. Thank you!

Is there a link where I can find where TiW is accepted? My first trip is just with my hubby and we're staying at Beach Club - would be nice if we could walk over to the Boardwalk area and have a drink (with a discount)...

:confused3
