How much does Costco save you when booking through them?

I have heard that some TA do things line onboard credits and sometime have gifts waiting for you in our cabin. Is that also true with Costco TA or all you get is the nice GC?

I would be shocked if they gave anything beyond the gift card. But I have only just transferred a reservation to them for October sailing, so no past experience to speak from.

I did also use their travel insurance which seemed well priced and thorough coverage.

I wanted to mention though that on the phone they said payment in full was due at 90 days instead of 75 (I think I got those numbers right), which is important to know in advance!

We booked with Costco, and just got our gift card yesterday (we cruised the Dream 3-day over Valentine's). Not on-ship credit or gift in the room, but I didn't expect them, either.

Actually, Costco requires full payment 14 days ahead of the cruise line, no matter what cruise line you are on. In the case of Disney, payment is required at 89 days.

If you book through Costco, can you use Disney gift cards to pay for the cruise? If you can and get them through Target, the 9% Costco cash card plus the 5% off with Disney cards is a pretty good discount. I think it beats what the TAs can do, doesn't it? Especially if you're using OBB anyway.

Yes - Costco takes gift cards. I usually call in 10 per day to space things out. They put you on hold and call them in to DCL. It takes a while, but its worth it for the cash card imo.

I fill my prescriptions at Target to get the 5% pharmacy coupon. You can pair that with the 5% Redcard discount to get almost 10% off. However, the 4x Kroger fuel promo is a better deal if you have a Kroger nearby (works out to 14% off if you get the max of 35 gallons per fillup - I take gas cans). What I've been doing lately though is buying Target gift cards at Kroger during the 4x promo first. Then I take those to Target and purchase Disney gift cards using my pharmacy coupon. In total it works out to over 20% off the gift cards.

There are tons of threads out there about this topic if you need more info.
