Just wondering how much you spend on food at WDW. Let me know how long you stayed and who was with you. One rule. If you post on this thread, No judgements on how much or how little people spend. Disney is a fun indulgence and we all have different opinions about how much to budget.

I'll start. Last trip was just me and DH. We planned to indulge the whole week we were there. Room service in bed every morning. Victoria and Alberts, Citricos, California Grill, Brown Derby. You get the idea. We didn't hold back. At the end of the week we had spent $2000 on food and gained 10 pounds:scared1:

SO worth it though. No DDP that trip.

Whos next?

We have spent comparable to that in the past (V&A, Cali Grill, Jiko's etc), but this past trip we were there 5 nights, 3 adults and 1 child and we only spent about $1,000 - we did Akershus, Tusker Breakfast, Yak & Yeti, Sanaa, Boma, Mama Melrose and Crystal Palace.
We did the Deluxe Dining Plan once in the past, but it was too much food, so we don't so the dining plan....the regular one offers dessert, but no appetizers...we aren't really desert people, and we LOVE apps...so we would order apps OOP and the leave over the desert - that would wipe out the advantage of the DDP. We also don't like being limited to the restaurants on the ddp list.

We (family of three: me, DH, and DS-16) usually spend about $1000 for a week at WDW, so I guess that averages to about $140 per day or $47 per person per day. This amount includes our tips. We spent $1200 on our most recent trip, which was 10 days, in Jan/Feb 2009. I am planning a trip for a week in Oct 2010, and am figuring we will spend around $1000. We generally eat at one TS restaurant per day, but sometimes it is two. We often will share an appetizer and/or dessert during our TS meals, and once in awhile DH will order a beer and I will order a glass of wine.

That's why we (me & my DH) do the deluxe dining plan. We go for 8 nights & spend $1152 on food & don't need to spend anything else but tips which I use my rewards from my disney cc. We spend so much more when we go on other trips during the year.

We get the DDP, whether we pay for it or it is free, so I get a bit of a better deal on food.
That said our receipts usually total $120-175 per day for 2 people.
We do not do 2 TS places and snacking is minimal. BUt we do eat very well. It is an indulgence as you said.

We vacation 2 weeks every year! I am sure I could calculate it:confused3 but my next vacation would not be as fun!!

This helps me estimate our next trip. We're going with the boys 9 and 12 for 4 full days. I'm hoping $1500 but will let you know when we get back

Its always been just dd21 and me. We prefer TS and usually have lunch and dinner at a TS. Average vacation length is 8-10 days. Spend about $1200 for food. We generally do not have appetizers or dessert. Due to some spinal issues I have, I really don't like carrying things (backpack, etc) and we spend a fortune on bottled water in the parks! (which is not included in that total btw). We drink a ton of water........buy a bottle, drink it, throw bottle away, repeat. We are not "snackers" either (exception: we must have one churro while at WDW). That's how we do it!;)

Me & DW
one week
1TS,1CS,1 snack/day on average
$700

works out to ~$50/day/person

When we were at WDW in the fall, we would have spent about $1260.07 out of pocket for everything we ate. We were on the regular dining plan, though, and got it for free, so our overall cost was $123 for tips plus about $75 for OOP one dinner and a few snacks.

Because we liked the better restaurants at WDW we'd budget $150 - $175 per day for dining. Now that the quality and selection at the restaurants has declined we find ourselves able to cut our daily food budget down to $75 - $100 per day!
Not fun that the quality has gone down so much but it's great fun to spend half as much as before! LOL

We have a family of eight and usually budget $300 if we are not on the dining plan. We usually stay 8-10 nights.

For us, it depends on the type of trip we take. Some times, we go to the higher end restaurants every night and always have a bottle of wine that starts at around $100. So with the wine and food at places like V&A, Bistro, bluezoo, etc. I'd say we spend $3000 for a week.

Some trips we don't want to eat like that and we do more CS meals. We can get by on under $1000 for a week for the two of us.

I spend a lot on wine; I can handle the $5.00 a glass of wine at home, but when I go away, I really, really, really splurge on good glasses of wine!

There were four adults in our party and we spent about $1,000 maybe a bit more. We ate 1 table service a day. We did not do the dining plan because we wanted to not be roped into eatting things we may not have ordered - a dessert at every meal for everyone. We also wanted to be able to order appetizers perhaps a meal. We also would sometimes share a counter service meal.

Totally doable. Keep the signature places down to one or two and you'll be fine!

This is our first trip and we are getting the $500 gift card package that we plan on spending completely on food for a 5 night trip with 2 adults and 1.5 kids- a 4 yr old and 1 yr old that could easily split one kids meal.... I am hoping to not spend more than $300 more out of pocket-

so $800 total- we are planning on lots of cs with a FEW table services mixed in (one a day tops) throughout the week (crystal palace breakfast, the plaza for dinner, Tusker House Lunch, 50s Diner Lunch, MAYBE Garden grill)

We just got back from 9 days and spent $1800 for 5 of us. That was doing a sitdown half the time and counter service the rest. We did Chef Mickey's for BF one morning, also did T-Rex for dinner. Other than that we ate lunch in the parks everyday (counter service and sitdowns) and dinner at a resort about half the time.

I budget $10 per person for breakfast
$15 lunch
$25 dinner

But-if we have some wine at a bar at a resort-with appetisers-we might skip dinner ($60 for that for the two of us)

I don't remember our costs last year, but I have totaled up our expected costs for this year in order to compare them to the cost of DDP. We will spend a minimum of $1,330 for 2A/3C (littest will eat off our plates.) This is compared to $820 for the DDP. I did not add in things that are allowable on the DDP that we probably wouldn't order, but I also didn't add in things not on the DDP that we are likely to get (mainly extra snacks,) so we would likely spend a little more. This is also without the two meals we plan to eat OOP either way (Plaza would only be $60 and does not seem worth a TS credit and $35 AK PIP is not worth 3 adult CS credits.)

This is for 7 days with 1 TS, 1 CS and 1 snack per person/day.
