How much do you pay for your newspaper subscription?

The Cape Cod Times is up to $245.70/year...Gosh, it seems like a lot when you pay it all at once. I'd read it online for free but DH likes his actual newspaper, he doesn't want to look at a computer screen first thing in the morning :confused3

I pay $12.00 per month for the Sunday only Washington Post. I never get weekday service because the paper is not delivered before I leave for work. However, at least 2 times a year, they offer "free" weekday service to Sunday-only subscribers. That deal usually lasts about 12 weeks. I think if I got daily service, it would be about $24.00 per month.

Newsday (Long Island, N.Y. Metro Area) is $20.00 per month (excluding tip)

is $208.00 a year for every day or $104.00 a year for Sunday's paper only.

$16.95 month for 7 days a week delivery. Our little weekly paper that mainly has police reports and school news..community paper is something like $19 for a year...one day a week only.

Are you sure it's $12 per month? I get the same thing - Sunday only Washington Post - and mine is $12.00 for 2 months.

I'm currently on the free weekday service and luckily mine is always there when I leave for work.

wow, those are some crazy prices. Here you can get the paper for about $80 for the year.

Our local paper is published Mon-Sat and is a little over $100/year ($109???).

I think I pay $12.00 a year. It only comes out once a week but it's the cutest paper! They run stories from when the paper first came out up to present going by decades starting 125 years ago!

I pay $159 for our Daily paper for a year's subscription.

I pay $144 per year for the Home News Tribune delivered 7 days per week.

Newsday- 1.25 a week
Daily News-17.00 a month
NY Times- 15.00 a month

$0

I HATE to get the paper. Growing up my mom got 3 papers a day, and they were always strewn about. And she would save certain articles, so there was always little clippings everywhere! Ick! (We think she has a mild case of 'hoarders' OCD combined with being bored as a SAHM)

Now I'm even reluctant to get the Sunday paper for the coupons.

mine is $15/month. it would be less to buy a year upfront but this is better for me....

My local newspaper is just put out 2 days a week. Wednesdays and Fridays. I pay about $40 a year for it.:p It's a very country-type of newspaper. My kids are occassionally in it about school stuff or I wouldn't get it. I read all the "hard" news online.:teeth:

i read my local, the 2 from neighboring towns and 1 from my hometown. total cost : ZERO. i read them on-line. they have the same stuff as the paper and i can use the search function if i want more info. on a particular story.

I wonder if it would be more cost effective if I printed out the newspaper for DH everyday and had it waiting with his coffee in the morning LOL

The other thing is (while I'm on the subject of throwing $$ out the window), he has to get his coffee at Dunkin Donuts every morning, another waste of $ IMHO...I love a nice cup of home brewed coffee I just calculated he spends an average of $1950, at DD every year (probably more) because he goes 2x a day for coffee and a muffin. I get my coffee on sale to brew at home with a low carb muffin (homemade). For about $240/year.
They talk about women with their expensive habits.

I could go on and on but I'd better go do something constructive or else DH is going to get an earful when I see him LOL

I guess it's all a matter of how you look at it, one person's pleasure is another person's waste.
