I love Mark's super cool muscle man pose with the Incredibles!! I should probably use a different word to describe it than adorable. I certainly would have been shocked had Mark actually liked the meatloaf at 50's but sorry about the chicken. I've only had one bite and I don't recall if it was good or bad...just meh. Do you know if they ask if you want milk gravy or beef gravy for the sample platter's mashed potatoes? I notice it has the brown gravy but wonder if you can sub the other??

I have not seen Sully & Mike characters before - I would LOVE to pose with them. What great T's from Monsters Inc. - you wear them so well.

And oops for my moment of declaring you the TSM victor ... not paying attention I guess.

That's good that Guest Services called you back so quickly with the letter that you wrote. Very nice, although that "take care of you in December" sounds very vague.

That turkey leg rice krispie treat is hysterical.

I'm sorry that 50's wasn't great. I really only love the pot roast normally. And I agree about the chicken....but that's also because I believe that Popeye's chicken is the greatest!

Starring rolls has a good breakfast selection too, have you ever been in there? I'm looking forward to their giant sandwhiches for lunch one of these days.

Kat, I am really enjoying this TR. Perhaps our paths will cross one of these days down there. Mark seems to be as "Goofy" as I am in WDW.

Here's hoping the "We'll take care of you in December" turns out to be cl at the GF. It was nice to see they did get back with you quickly and even did a little something for you.

Before I get to the next update, I did want to let you all know that I wrote to Guest Services about our issues at OKW with the check-in and the hot water. They called me yesterday and I had a lovely talk with them.

She said they would take care of us in December at CSR (whatever that means) and they gave us a $75 credit on our American Express for the rudeness of the CM's and the lack of hot water for two days.

Glad to hear they wanted to make things right!

So, when I last left you, we had just finished riding Star Tours and trying on some hats.

We bought these t-shirts (this was when we actually arrived home in them as I forgot to take a picture when I bought them):

We were seated in a back room with one other family. I wish I could remember the name of our Uncle as he was pretty good...he knew which table he could joke with (ours) and which one he could not (the ones next to us by the Television who seemed to not appreciate his attempt at humor).

Why would you eat here if you don't want to be messed with?

Some people are born without a sense of humor, I guess.

Mark ordered a chocolate shake and I ordered the onion rings as our appetizers:

As I said, our "Uncle" was very good; I wish I could say the same about the food. It was just "okay." My chicken was fine...nothing special (about the same as I can get at Popeye's or Kentucky Fried Chicken really);

That stinks. I remember really liking the chicken there. Well, I hope it was fun joking around with the server, at least.

So glad OKW called you and "made it right" - hopefully they stand true to their word, and your next check in is much more magical.

Sounds like you had a much better experiece at 50's than we did. We've decided that we will just "belly up to the bar" next time and order our PB&J malts to go, since that is all we go there for anyways. We are planning to try Sci-fi next time. Which is sad, because we used to LOVE 50's.

Glad Mark was there to try and resuscitate him..........

We arrived at our destination and YES....our mission was successful. We were both now proud owners of one of these little beauties:

After the Annual Passes were purchased (courtesy of our oldest son, Andy), I also bought the Tables in Wonderland card for our meals.

TIW is my favorite way to do Disney dining. Much more flexible and fits my dining habits better.

As we were waiting, I hear someone say my name. I looked up and it was a friend from here on the DIS, Tracy (LuvvsDisney here on the DIS).

We arrived too early for our ADR, so we stopped in the gift shop to look around (I love the Beach Club theme and it is the last deluxe resort I want to try). Mark decided to have some fun to pass the time:

The food was good, but nothing spectacular. The crab legs were too much work and didn't have a lot of flavor. I'm not sure we would go back.

We had a similar experience there. The food looks good, but it turned out very underwhelming. Not high on my list for a return trip for sure, although the breakfast buffet might be worth a visit.

Finally back to OKW at 8:30 at night , I went into the lobby to check on our room while Mark went to the gift shop to get some water for the room. I asked if our room was ready and I was very nastily told that they'd sent me
a text message hours ago....around 3 p.m. I told them that I had NO text message and I had checked at 3 p.m. and was told our room was still not ready. To say I was not happy was putting it mildly, but I was too tired to get into it or ask for a manager. I did not receive a "I'm sorry" or anything.

Wow, sorry you guys had such a tough time just getting your room taken care of at OKW. You sure didn't need that additional stress. I'm guessing things got better though.............

I'm kind of curious about what taking care of you at CSR means too.

I had a cappucino and Mark had a coffee and we split a chocolate muffin (I forgot to take pictures).

It's good to hear that Disney got back in touch with you regarding the "issues" you experienced at check-in and the rude castmembers. That's why I always tell people to write to Disney if they experienced any problems or to applaud an excellent castmember.

bummer about your 50's lunch, we thought about trying it next year for the first time, but not sure though the shake and rings look yummy!

Animators is one of our fav's at WDW & DLR...I have kept all of our drawings over the years...love seeing how Megan has progressed with her drawing over the years!
