How much did you gain on your cruise?

Here's the good news, the bad news and the good news...

I had lost 18 pounds right before the cruise, but planned on splurging when I was on the cruise.
On a 4 night Dream cruise, I gained about 4 pounds. Having 3 full meals a day and fruity drinks/wine/champagne just put a hurting on me.

Now back to the good news - I'm already back down just over a week later. I think your body must go into shock from not having 3 full meals a day and just retreats back to its old form! LOL Don't worry about the scale when you are on the trip - enjoy and you can get back in the groove a day or two (or three) after you get back!

Congrats e1 on their weight loss!!!:cool1:

I'm so jealous! hehehe

Besides my daughters communion next month and a Bermuda cruise, I'm sorry to say I haven't lost a lb! :)

I'm meaning too - but just can't stick to it.

I am thinking that I might start going to the gym tomorrow or making sure I go for a nice long walk w/ my ipod.

I have a month to lose a little, I'm sure I can lose just that - a little! :)
:cloud9:

WOW!!!! Congrats on the loss!!! :cool1: It's hard to do...I know!!!

I lost around 20 pounds prior to our MR cruise in March. I gained 3 pounds during our vacation...we spent some time in LA before and after the cruise. Honestly, I think I gained the weight after the cruise eating so much fast food in airports etc!!

Here's what I did...I made a point not to eat all of anything I did not love! I love love love the chicken strips at Plutos so I ate them almost everyday for lunch. I always finished my chicken and ate very few fries, some days I would eat 1/2 a hamburger and a chicken strip. I tasted everything at dinner and I think you'll find you are completely satisfied after about 1/2 the serving...which isn't huge to start with!! I ate dessert (sometimes 2 :rotfl:) every night. I have a sweet tooth and we worked long and hard to save for that cruise so I intended to enjoy it!!! It also helped that I have a very accommodating husband who loved finishing my plates!! LOL

Enjoy yourself...you have earned it!! If you are even slightly careful you'll do fine...remember, it's your vacation so have fun!!!

I gained one pound, and I believe that was water weight since there was so much sodium in the food. That pound is gone. But we ran on deck 4 every other day and after the third day, really got choosey about what we ate. I still ate dessert twice a day and still enjoyed everything, but didn't eat all 4 courses at dinner every day and definitely didn't eat everything on my plate. Well, with the exception of Palo and the lamb shank on formal night. Breakfast was usually coffee, fruit, and toast from room service. Parrot Cay had the best salad bar for lunch, and there were plenty of veggies there too.

I actually lost 3 lbs! I think it was all the walking we did. We never used the elevator! Seriously, I didn't eat all day long just when I was hungry.

On our 10 night Med, which included 4 days in Paris before and a lot of walking I gained 6lbs but this included a lot of bread and wine consumption which canceled out the heat and miles walked lol!

On our 7 night Caribbean I only gained like 2-3 lbs!

popcorn:: :drinking1

Food is always around. I think I gained about 4 pounds :sad2:.

congratulations on your wieght loss. Try everything and eat nothing (just taste) :thumbsup2

I ate and drank everything that I wanted, took the elevator, never saw the gym, had room service deliver chocolate chip cookies and gained 10lbs!

:lmao:

I always go on a cruise with terrific intentions, but somehow it all seems to go right out the window and I end up gaining 5 lbs at least!:scared1: Last cruise we were on I ate whatever the heck I wanted and as much as I wanted and boy it was great!! I don't get to eat like that UNLESS I am cruising so I don't really worry about the 5 lbs I gain. Like PP said ALOT of it is water weight, so don't sweat it:thumbsup2 Have an awesome cruise!! And ENJOY!!!!popcorn::

On the 15 night PC cruise, I gained 11 pounds :scared1: #1) I ate 3 full meals with snacks each day. At home I eat a light breakfast, light lunch, and a regular dinner. #2) Even though I only took the elevator when wearing long dress with heals, we walked on deck 4, and we were active on excursions, that is a decrease in my activity from home. I only worked out once on the cruise and at home, I work out almost daily for 60-90 minutes.

BTW, congrats on the weight loss. :goodvibes

If I remember the Wonder Health Spa tour on Day 01 correctly, they say there's typically a 7-14 pound weight gain for a one week cruise.

Prior to the cruise, I lost 49 pounds in 75 days using the iphone app myfitnesspal. After the MR cruise, I gained back 10 with uninhibited eating and going to the fitness center 3 times burning about 400 calories each visit.
