016-12.jpg

The only thing left are pins and a couple of more shirts. I'll save them for later if you don't mind. I need to work on an update and a little news.

as an employee of the church, i always get a ton of chocolate for xmas. see's, godiva, some sort of chocolate smore type thingermabob..I love chocolate covered nuts...almonds and peanuts being my favorites...

one can never have enough sweets....
Oh I totally understand! My DH is a mailman and around here, people give a lot of treats to him around Christmas. They must think we could stand to gain some weight, cause that is what happens!! All the treats look so yummy!! I guess I should be glad I didn't go in the General Store.

OOH...fudge...that beloved fudge will soon be mine...oh and I will bring some home trust me fudge will come home with me YUMMO!!!

Love the holiday plushies!!!

Hope you have a warm weekend Anita!!! Relax a bit! I'm going to finally get the bathroom and kitchen done..working on the first coats right now and hopefully will have the second coat done tomorrow morning!

Seriously? You're painting??? I thought I was a mulit-tasker!!! GO PACK WOMAN!!!
Oh my! Well you know I was thinking as I was looking at these photos that someone should get in the business of shipping Goofy's treats, I mean overnight shipping is a small price to pay for a slice or two or three of Disney Fudge, right? If people can make goodie boxes and such for resort delivery, why not ship fudge??!! There must be some sort of restriction for this, otherwise someone would have, right? I mean who doesnt ship treats in care packages to friends!!!
I would totally pay for that!!!

Cute stuff Anita!! I love the collars (Cody might get one next trip - his old MN Wild one is wearing thin!) and the rings - I looked at those too!! Oh Basin, I love Basin!!! I have the monorail t=shirt too!! Non Disney people look at me a little strange when I wear it!

Sheree, it's settled, Jen is our hero, so much energy:goodvibes, everyone wants us to put on the pounds over the holidays, and a new food shopping service needs to be established for DIS friends...
I'm planning to look at more of those rings the next trip! So fun!
The monorail t has to be confusing to those not in the know.....
:lmao:

The only thing left are pins and a couple of more shirts. I'll save them for later if you don't mind. I need to work on an update and a little news.

The diva finally broke down and talked to you so she could get her birthday present? Or, better yet, she apologized for her behavior? (One can hope!)

Baylor did a good job on the t-shirts. I'm not a sports fan but the basketball t-shirt is really cool! All the other souvies are AB FAB!!!

Finally all caught up:thumbsup2
1. 460 steps:scared1: ouch

2. sorry you didn't get a snowday break.

3. The doggie collars are so cute! We get back on Jan 28 and on the 29th we get to go and pick up our new puppy!! We had to put our Riley(shepard/doberman) down in August he was 13 and our baby Hailey(black lab) was hit by a truck just 2 feet from me on Nov. 28th. It has been a very lonley few weeks so we decided to start looking and decided on a springer spaniel. She is a surprise for the kids...heres a pic:

:lmao: Anita, that's just not nice! Now get back here and get on with the announcing please!

Thank you for reading! You will love Christmas in Disney! It's beautiful! We did not have a visit from "Santa" even though we were there on Christmas morning. He left our gifts at home.... I do think he visited Happydog though, are you reading her trip report?

I'll reply to this too, we did the same as Wigd. Santa left our gifts at home while we were away.

From the looks of Anita's souvie pics it's a good thing that they didn't have gifts to ship back too! Really, I'm just jealous, wish I had had 4 boxes worth of stuff to send home......

Love the sweatshirts....I told you I am already buying that DVC sweatshirt....I already have the Peace, love and Mickey black sweatshirt ;) It's so comfy...super soft! Guess all I need now is the pink one! It IS fabulous!! :thumbsup2

Cute puppy wannago2disney!! Love his nose!!

I think I know who the Italian ring enabler is...:rolleyes1 they are really pretty! ::yes::

Tracy

I think those collars are really cute too! Fenway's is a little too big, so another hole is in order...
Hunny's is just perfect!
I think costumes or character t-shirts for pets would be great sellers!

We got a Stitch shirt for our dog when we were there for our 2nd anniversary. I'll have to pull it out and take a picture of the fluff ball in it.

Back to our regularly scheduled trip report...

We had just arrived at the beautiful Kidani Village. Megan was sick. Matt was better than Megan but not good. The rest of us were pretty darned excited to be in Disney.

The lobby was beautiful. There are pictures but those will come in time.

Marc went to check in.

We are typically lucky with check in. As in our room is ready early.
Was it this time?

No.

We waited.

Normally we would have checked our carry-on bags with bell service and gone to the parks but not with sick travelers.

We waited.

I wandered into the gift shop remembering that Laura wanted to see DVC merchandise. So I took these.... for Laura!

So, how did I do channeling my inner MeMom?

After my shopping photo shoot I wandered out into the lobby to explore.
These are the Christmas decorations that were up around the lobby, so pretty!

Leslie, I have a bunch for you!

There is no other way to put it, this trip was a festival for the eyes, especially Kidani!

Up close to the Kidani Christmas tree, I know I have one taken farther back but it must be farther down the line.

The African art is very cool!

It was my turn to watch Harper, Megan was comatose in a chair, thank goodness they were large and she could just sink in and basically become part of the fabric....
We went to check out the savannah.
What do you think we would see?

058-7.jpg

One of Jackie's friends was coming over to welcome us!

At this point we didn't have our villa yet...
We had been waiting for 2 hours.
It was 4:00 time to check in.

We went up to check and it wasn't ready but they could put us in something else.

Megan was sick,
Harper was hungry,
I said OK

Off we went.....

We walked....
and walked....
and walked....
then we walked some more....

we got there and it was very nice!

I looked around and noticed that it was a 2br lock out.

Uh oh!
NO GO!

That gave us a queen bed and a fold out sofa in the second bedroom.
Keeley would have the fold out and I knew that would not work.
I told the kids to sit tight.
Not to make a mess and prepare to move.

Back to the lobby I walked.
and walked
and walked
and walked
fast
and a little
irritated
well,
a lot
irritated!

On the way, I met our luggage.
Marc followed me the whole way.....

We got to the lobby and I got our original room.
Whew.
I had worked up quite a sweat.
While we were there, this guy showed up.

We called up to the villa and had them send Baylor down!
He was all smiles!

We missed our ADR for dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe. We had a DIS meet scheduled at 6:30 ish for Osbourne lights and a 6:30 reservation that I had hung on to at 50's Prime Time . We hadn't eaten anything since breakfast much earlier at at the Dallas airport. I had a hungry baby to feed.
We needed to get up to the villa and get everyone settled, and figure out what to do...

Love the Light Fixtures and my name isn't Leslie.

Sorry about the sick people, but at least you're at Disney!

Hmm....I wonder if you make your Osbourne Lights? Or where do you end up eating?

Of course your room wasn't ready since you had a toddler and sick folks. Glad it all got straightened out and you finally got your room even though it was a long walk!

Love your souvie photos.

The decorations at Kidani are so unique. Love them.
What's the difference between a 2 br lockout and a reg 2 br villa?

OK Jordan, I'll let you look at them too!:rotfl2:
Getting well at Disney is the best isn't it?

Don't you know that room couldn't have just been ready when we got there....
oh well,
no one died.

The diva finally broke down and talked to you so she could get her birthday present? Or, better yet, she apologized for her behavior? (One can hope!)
Maybe a couple of words. Not enough for her gift, yet. No apology, that's for sure!
Baylor did a good job on the t-shirts. I'm not a sports fan but the basketball t-shirt is really cool! All the other souvies are AB FAB!!!
I loved the back of that basketball shirt!

Finally all caught up:thumbsup2

What a cute puppy! Good luck on those first few nights! It must have been very tough losing your pets. Such sad times...
Wow, muskrat, was it stringy?

:
lmao: Anita, that's just not nice! Now get back here and get on with the announcing please!
Yikes, I thought I'd add a little more to the update first.:rolleyes1

I'll reply to this too, we did the same as Wigd. Santa left our gifts at home while we were away.
Thanks for replying! Please, anyone else that has experience with a Christmas stay, join us!

From the looks of Anita's souvie pics it's a good thing that they didn't have gifts to ship back too! Really, I'm just jealous, wish I had had 4 boxes worth of stuff to send home......
It was fun opening those boxes!

I'd love to see that picture!
Love your souvie photos.

The decorations at Kidani are so unique. Love them.
What's the difference between a 2 br lockout and a reg 2 br villa?

The difference was enough to make me pitch a fit...
The dedicated 2br has 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom. In the lockout there is 1 queen bed and a pull out sofa. I'm getting ready to show pictures of the villa.

Nooo I am not the ring enabler...I think it was Jackie right? I am sure she will step forward:lmao:
Beautiful lobby pictures and savanna pics....I really love the resort and the theming. Everything there is like a mini Jambo...the store...lobby, etc. although the rooms at Kidani are bigger :thumbsup2
Did you see any vultures in the savanna? They are creeeepy! They walk all hunched over :tilt:

Tracy
oh and that was really gross about the muskrat being stringy! :rotfl2: ughhh! I have seen muskrats in our lake in PA...they look like little sea lions and eat all of the mussels :confused3 Then again they swim really fast and then go under for awhile so I am only assuming they look like sea lions

Can't wait to see villa pics :surfweb:

Thanks to the enabling on the DIS, I've changed resorts for the 4th time yesterday and am seriously investigating DVC. A DVC sales office opened at a mall on Long Island. I may need to head there soon,
