How Much Did I Pay For This Self Inflicted Fun? A Wigdout trip report.

WHOA!!! 460 steps!!!! One time in Jambo I had a 2br and I know that was really, really, really, far....never counted and ughhh that was a long walk after a long day :sad2:
I think it is cold everywhere.....not fun anymore:upsidedow

Tracy

Wow-460...you did get a nice work out-didn't you...but I had a feeling it was on the further side...;)

Wow...that my be one of the cutest pictures Shocker has posted...I think good old Ullr is a festive looking fellow...makes me want some snow here...:goodvibes

They are telling me the lows with the wind chill on Friday and Saturday are going to be in the single digits...I kid you not the weather report is saying the low on Friday is going to be 6 and the low on Friday is going to be 5...this is not OKAY with me!!

Ok now that is just wrong...there should not be snow and freezing temps in Florida...it goes against the nature order of things...I am so in support of you Jen...the cold belongs up north and the heat belongs down south...

Where are good old Heat Miser and Snow Miser when you need them? :confused3

Ha! You might have a better chance than we do down here, but we'll see!

I hope so. But it'll take over a foot of snow for schools to close tomorrow. NYC mayors are notorious for not closing schools.

The problems with a blizzard are that you never know how many inches you'll get nor how long it will last! :scared1: :cool1:

I hope it starts in the middle of the night and we get over a foot. If I were teaching tomorrow, I wouldn't mind going in. But I have to proctor an exam. So I'll be bored for 3 hours :sad2:

I walked down our hallway and around the house and got about 25 steps...over 400 is just nuts, but a great workout...:rolleyes1
It was sooooo far.............................................
Thankk Goodness! I was afraid for a moment my ex-Mil was going to greet me!
No just Wu Shock!
So who will be around to DIS tomorrow. I have a two hour delay already... Hannah is off, and I bet I will be too.
As you saw, I wasn't here today.

As for your journey... wow. You must have been super far one direction. Which way... past the pool (new part) or towards AKL? I thought those beads seemed long but wow wow wow!
We were down towards the pool direction, but I never got a glimpse of the pool, those hallways just go on, and on, and on, and on, and on...................
ME! :dance3:

Are you feeling better this morning? (Or whenever you happen to see this?)
Lucky! Was someone feeling bad last night?
460 Steps???? I never would have guessed that number!!! Congrats to the winners!

We are releasing early today! Hopefully that means I can catch up on my TR...;)
It was a very long walk, oh my gosh! When you think about it though.... We had three really long balconies. So in order to accommodate all of those villas with savannah views they would need to have really long hallways, right?
Did you get to go home early due to the weather?
460 steps??? :faint: My goodness that is a long way. But there is nowhere else on earth that I'd like to walk that many steps!
We sure got a bunch of steps in that week! I agree too, no place better than Disney. Those are the happiest kind of steps even if I was a bit tired while walking them.

Hope those of you home this morning have a good time. Unfortunately business as usual here. Randomly the news this morning said it's 29 degrees here (Connecticut) AND 29 degrees in Orlando. :scared:
Hard to believe that it's the same in Connecticut and Orlando!
I'm staying in my jammies too! That makes a couple of us...how about you anita?
Oh no, the invisible shield was at work today, the windshield that is. We needed it to be -15 and it was -13. Go figure!
Well its 26 degrees outside here and I'm up getting ready for school...the precipitation is supposed to start about noon and go into the evening so we'll see what is going to happen about school tomorrow LOL!
Keep us posted Jen!
up and at 'em.....no delay or cancellation here....
Yes, we blew into school in the cold dark morning!
I've stayed at the Boardwalk a few times where it seemed like a mile to the elevator but it sounds like you were farther :) those halls just seem to go on and on and on!
I know Beach Club halls can get a bit long too but nothing compares to this! Unless we had been a little further down the hall!

It's 21 degrees here in North FL this morning! Doesn't seem fair, we should at least get some snow if it's gonna be that cold! We actually did have some snow here that stuck back in 1989 on Christmas Day! I'd love to have a snow day!
Wishing you some snow then, I'd like one too!

460 steps!!!!! Wowzer!

I'm a popsicle. It's cold. I hate cold. Temps are supposed to only be in the teens tomorrow and Saturday. Yuck.
Stay warm Jill!
OH MY GOSH!!! THAT is HILARIOUS!! You just couldn't resist, could you. :rotfl:
He couldn't resist!
Holy COW that's a LOT of steps! congratulations to the winner!!
It was a marathon!
I'm in full jammie gear today----SNOW DAY!!!!! White Death is apparently on its' way........although I haven't seen too much yet! :)
Yay Jen! Glad you got to stay home! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow!
OMG that's insane :faint: I think I was probably closer then you were when I stayed at Jambo House :rotfl2:

It was so far, I couldn't believe that it was so far! We walked, and walked, then we walked some more!

It only snowed a little for us this morning, but the roads are solid ice. I've seen vehicles sliding down the road several times. It is snowing again right now - more like spitting ice. I am praying that our pipes and heating unit hold out for the next several days. It's supposed to start warming up about Monday or Tuesday, I think, but the weekend is not going to be good.

I get another pajama party tomorrow. We missed you today, but to be honest, I was off and on. I had a lot of housework to catch up on. Tomorrow I can pretty much hang out and do nothing.

Well rain started here about 4:00pm but so far that is all that it is...rain but the temperatures are supposed to drop...so we'll see what happens later tonight.

Any chance you'll be out of school tomorrow Anita and Marc?

The problems with a blizzard are that you never know how many inches you'll get nor how long it will last! :scared1: :cool1:
A Ha!!!!!! There it is and I was afraid I was going to miss it...which also could be the punchline...:rolleyes1

I was close!:cool1:

But I have to proctor an exam. So I'll be bored for 3 hours :sad2:

I read this four times before I read it correctly.

I thought it said...

"But I have a proctal exam so I will be bored for three hours!" :lmao::rotfl2:

Which led me to question how long your prostate was if it took 3 hours to navigate...and really...if it bores you...maybe they are giving you too much happy juice in your iv.

Then I got what you wrote accurately and still was LMAO!

I think so far we are up to about 4-5" I think.....trust me, haven't been brave enough to go out and check for myself. Megs and I have had quite the fun snow day though!!!!

I was the one feeling lousy. I am much better and braved the outside with Luke for a snow time. He has never been out in it, and he hated it! The girls had fun though... but it is awfully cold here to be out long.

So you never went to the pool area at all this trip?

I guess you were in the newer part that opened this fall right?

Three balconies... super nice sounding!

Miss you! Sorry you had to go to school today.... maybe tomorrow?
I hope so! The district I used to work for has already called off school due to the cold windchill forecast prediction tomorrow.
Yep! I have some on my Facebook (if you are linked up there? I cannot recall who all from the DIS is), and I will include the NOLA part of our trip in my TR. I have to find out if I should break that into a separate thread for the CB or how it should work....but regardless, I will post about it and share pictures! It was a great wedding!
I am on FB, are we friends on there? I'll need to check that out... Are you on Jill, MeMom, and CP's FB?
I really want to see. I just haven't had time to DIS much let alone FB since school has started back....

:scared1: Oh my goodness! That is craZy!!! We never even walked down to the end of the hallways, but just by the outside of the building we were grateful that we weren't way down there. Were you on the pool side or the other side?
We walked toward the pool.

Yep!
I don't think it's necessary to start a whole other thread for the NOLA part of your trip - just include it with your regular report! :thumbsup2

(You're starting soon aren't you??? :rolleyes1 )
I hope so!
What in the world! I am gone for 24 hours and I am 8 pages behind! How do you keep us with this TR?

I cannot believe you were that far away. :scared1: That doesn't sound like a very good way to treat DVC members. I think I would have asked to be moved. That is just a lot of walking when your feet already hurt from being in the parks.
It was a great way to burn calories.....
but very tiring.

BTW I am never revealing this number to my husband. He would die if he heard that long trek. Still wondering which direction you were.... and wondering what is the key location to request there now.

If you don't have a car, request near a bus stop. Or at least near the lobby.

That is your job!

HOLY COW!!! my goodness well, you got some exercise anyway!
That was the positive way to look at the walk!
YAY for those of you who got the day off and leave early! We are waiting to see what comes of the 1-2 inch "dusting" they suggest is coming this evening.... it isn't coming from the South, only the west, so it is probably not going to be much to write home about....

I can't wait to read all about those 466 step treks, WigD... popcorn::
I'm hoping to get in an update tonight, but three Disney boxes arrived this evening and I'm dying to open them up.....
I hope the dusting turns into a blizzard. I want a day off!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Ha! You might have a better chance than we do down here, but we'll see!
Think positive, remember when you wanted to get out of town?

Tracy
Darn, Tracy, I wish you would have counted. I really have no idea why I started counting. I'm just glad that I did!
I agree with you about the weather. I'm sick of it already!

The problems with a blizzard are that you never know how many inches you'll get nor how long it will last! :scared1: :cool1:
Shocker, go stand it the corner.....
Wow-460...you did get a nice work out-didn't you...but I had a feeling it was on the further side...;)
You where one of the first to guess a larger number!

Wow...that my be one of the cutest pictures Shocker has posted...I think good old Ullr is a festive looking fellow...makes me want some snow here...:goodvibes
If we are getting snow, it needs to be enough for a snow day!

Ok now that is just wrong...there should not be snow and freezing temps in Florida...it goes against the nature order of things...I am so in support of you Jen...the cold belongs up north and the heat belongs down south...

Where are good old Heat Miser and Snow Miser when you need them? :confused3
I hope it warms up soon! We have friends down there now and friends getting ready to go! We don't want them down there freezing!

I hope so. But it'll take over a foot of snow for schools to close tomorrow. NYC mayors are notorious for not closing schools.

I hope it starts in the middle of the night and we get over a foot. If I were teaching tomorrow, I wouldn't mind going in. But I have to proctor an exam. So I'll be bored for 3 hours :sad2:
Sitting for 3 hours would be boring! One foot of snow is a bunch though!
Oh Shocker!?!?!?!...
I'm sure he'll be along!
It only snowed a little for us this morning, but the roads are solid ice. I've seen vehicles sliding down the road several times. It is snowing again right now - more like spitting ice. I hope your heat and pipes hold out too! This is not the time to have a problem with those two things.
The only good thing about this weather is not having to get out in it! It would be nice to be able to stay home tomorrow and get caught up on some chores and get a decent DIS update done!
I'm keeping an eye on the school updates as the cross the bottom of the television tonight. I'll also take a peek at my calling tree before I go to bed tonight, just to make sure I know who I might need to call in the morning...

I think right now I might just open the boxes that got delivered.

Would it be awful if I posted pictures of my souvies before the end of the trip report?

Well rain started here about 4:00pm but so far that is all that it is...rain but the temperatures are supposed to drop...so we'll see what happens later tonight.

Any chance you'll be out of school tomorrow Anita and Marc?
If it's raining and it freezes, that means ice or snow!
There is a chance we will be out. Maize has canceled already, they are just west of Wichita and we are just south.

A Ha!!!!!! There it is and I was afraid I was going to miss it...which also could be the punchline...:rolleyes1

I was close!:cool1:
I read this four times before I read it correctly.

Did you notice how Shocker was so sneaky with that punchline?

Dawn, only you would look at proctoring an exam and see that.
:rotfl2:

I think so far we are up to about 4-5" I think.....trust me, haven't been brave enough to go out and check for myself. Megs and I have had quite the fun snow day though!!!!
So no snowman for Megs today?
I was the one feeling lousy. I am much better and braved the outside with Luke for a snow time. He has never been out in it, and he hated it! The girls had fun though... but it is awfully cold here to be out long.

So you never went to the pool area at all this trip?

I guess you were in the newer part that opened this fall right?

Three balconies... super nice sounding!

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well. I'll bet Luke changes his tune about the snow next year and then in a couple of years his sisters better watch out!
Megan and Baylor went to the pool but no, I never did. The three balconies were just wonderful! Like I said before some parts of our villa we just beyond beautiful! I hope my pictures do it justice!

You are joking, right?

Show us! Show us! Show us!

OK, OK, OK!!!!

Here's the plan...

Shocker's off delivering Baylor to basketball practice.

I'm doing laundry.

When he gets home, I'll unpack the boxes and get started taking pictures.

Hopefully he will agree to load them on photobucket for me so I can continue with the laundry.

Then I'll get them out to you!

Oh Wigd, 460 steps is NOT cool!! We had school today, but the roads at pickup were snotty and all evening activities were cancelled. We were hoping for a snow day tomorrow, but the snow seems to have tapered off. Boo! Maybe it'll pick back up overnight.

Disney boxes!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see.

The big kids won't both be out of the house until 2015 so an xmas trip is a long ways off, if ever. Unless of course we go DVC one of these days. I'd need a real job again to make that happen. Thanksgiving though...probably not much sooner since I keep planning other things before that!

:rotfl:

I would surely love to see 47 right now, for the sake of my heating bill, which will be outrageous next month!

My students did a pretty wild snow dance shortly before dismissal. We'll see what happens.

I think I am the only one without Disney pajamas. :sad1:

I don't have any either MeMom. :sad2: Of course, based on the latest weather report, I think it is very, very unlikely that I would even be home to need them.

You guys need to fix that! Everyone needs Mickey jams!

Did you get to go home early due to the weather?

We were home by 3:00 today, and the kids tried their hardest to play with the dusting of snow that we got. They were too funny!

It only snowed a little for us this morning, but the roads are solid ice.

I get another pajama party tomorrow. We missed you today, but to be honest, I was off and on. I had a lot of housework to catch up on. Tomorrow I can pretty much hang out and do nothing.

We get our snow day tomorrow. The decision has already been made, and I think it was the condition of the roads more than anything else. The low tonight is supposed to be 19 so you just know what that will do to the wet roads.

Bacon and cinnamon toast for breakfast tomorrow!

OK, OK, OK!!!!

Here's the plan...

Shocker's off delivering Baylor to basketball practice.

I'm doing laundry.

When he gets home, I'll unpack the boxes and get started taking pictures.

Hopefully he will agree to load them on photobucket for me so I can continue with the laundry.

party: I am so excited! I love Disney souvenirs!

OOOH I want to see souvenir pictures!!! I really really do!!
