 Hi everyone! I'm new here and new to WDW. My DH, 2 DDs (5 & 9) and I will be going to WDW for the first time 5/24/01 - 5/31/01. I'm not sure how much to bring with us in the way of clothes - the less we have to bring, the better. I know our hotel has laundry facilities if needed. Are pants even needed? Is sleeveless even an opton (I'm afraid I passed on my fair Irish skin to my DDs)? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I have been several times at this exact time and several of my friends and families will be there this year. I would not pack any long pants, unless one pair to wear on plane or car. Shorts will be fine. As to sleeveless my family and I always wear t-shirts with a short sleeve, too much sun too quickly if we don't.

Always pack less, you will want to buy some cute t-shirts and this way you will have an excuse to wear them.

Have fun and remember to drink lots of fluids because it will be already very hot.

My husband and I went last July and we totally over packed. Granted we didnt have children, but somehow, food always seems to find my husbands clothes. I would say two pairs of PJs, a pair of undies for each day, extra socks for the rain showers. No pants, one pair of small folding sweats. One very lightweight sweatshirt or jacket. All the rest shorts and short sleeves. I am Irish and have extremely white skin. I had 3rd degree burns on time Im so fair. I loaded us up once a day with sunscreen the strongest I could find. I also used ths sunscreen "faces" to protect my face and neck. One place not to forget is behind your knees. I burned literally in minutes when I forgot to put it on there. Also, wear a wide brimmed hat. We bought two of them with drawstrings at Old Navy for about 8.00, they were possibly our best protection. I opted not to use a water mist fan because of the possible wear off with the sun screen. To be safe instead of sorry I would apply sun screen twice a day and make sure if you are fair skinned to drink a lot of liquids. My husband was origionally from Phoenix and claimed to love heat, and I am from Seattle and hated high heat. However, when we got there I never experienced sun stroke, and loved the hot temps, and humidity. My husband on the other hand was dragging by the time we started to walk off the plane in the tunnel...LOL

 I was thinking the same thing about the spray bottles - thanks for confirmaing my concern. Thanks for all the helpful information. I'm editing my lists everyday!

Hey Dad..their is some GREAT waterproof sunscreen for kids made by Banana Boat, its a spray and is non-sticky. I am fair as is one of my four kids and we love it. Just a side note....we don't use the spray bottle for an entirely different reason. When you are consistently misting the body off, you are sending strong mixed messages to your body's system and it tends to work overtime to regulate the temp, causeing your body to "scream" to be cooled off more! After many years of camping and fishing we have learned....if you just keep your body hydrated and occasionally cool yourself of when you get a drink of water your body is better off. Let your body regulate to a smaller span of temp and drink..TONS of water..:bounce: Good Luck!
