How much cash do you bring?

We will be on the DDP, use MB to charge to the room, and have $500 in GC. I am thinking that $150 cash should be doable for the 6 days. We will need money for housekeeping, bell services, and MDE. How many kiosks are cash only?

Your plan seems good to me. As long as you have your MB setup for charging, and have a credit card as a backup, you're all set. I can't think anything of anything in the parks is cash only.

You should only need cash for the services you mentioned if you choose so.

That is probably good. I always worry something will go wrong with one of my cards. I keep as much cash in the safe to payoff any charges we make. Then I have it to just pay my room charge off with cash.

I usually plan for 10 bux per day for incidental cash tips not on cc's.
And I also keep an extra grand just in case I need it for bail money.

Now that's a pro-tip I can use!!

We don't bring much. Maybe $200 for various cash tips for 5 of us over a 5-7 day trip.

There are cash machines in the lobbies of all the resorts, btw. In case you need more cash for any reason.

We don't bring much cash. Maybe $150? Even the pop machines in the resorts take credit cards! So, if you absolutely have to have that bottle of Coca-Cola in the middle of the night when nothing else is open, you could use your credit card if you didn't have exact change. :drinking1

There have been times on my trips that the non-cash payments have gone down at various kiosks and they would only take cash. Seems to only impact ones that are not in a major building such as many kiosks around world showcase lagoon.

I bring about $100 cash, but that’s it. I charge everything to my room and pay it off after. Never had an issue

$150 and use the ATM while we are there if we need to. Otherwise we charge to the room so we get the 3 points per dollar from our CC company

We both bring the max our respective ATMs will allow us ($500), and if we bring extra home NBD, but better to have it than not. The kids like to "pay" and sometimes they want "dollars" and there's random things, lots of tips, etc. The kids also ask to have pocket money/earned money, which we give them in cash.

I have actually been at Disney during one of their IT glitches when cash was the only payment they could take. You couldn’t use dining credits, or charge to the room, or use credit cards. It lasted about 24 hours. So you might think about how much cash you would need for 24 hours and plan from there.

We drive from Ohio so we always bring at least a grand “just in case” we usually only use it for toll money, mousekeeping, vending machines, and give the kids some spending money ( although in recent years we usually buy gift cards in advance and give them one if they are going off by themselves (usually $20 ones in case they get lost) you always want to make sure you have enough cash to get home on. You just never know.
