How much can we get done during MK PM EMH?

We didn't use EMH last trip since we didn't have hoppers. I wanted to see MSEP since we missed it last trip, so I bought hoppers, and the day we're planning on seeing it is also an EMH day. Right now the park is scheduled to close at 10 with pm EMH, and while I don't know if we'd make it the whole time I think we could last for most of it. However, this is Veteran's Day that we'll be there, so I'm assuming it will be more crowded than usual, even later in the evening. I'm not expecting to walk onto 7DMT or in to see Anna & Elsa, but are we likely to find very short lines for the most part from 10-11:30ish? I know they might extend the park close as well, which further complicates the question. But that aside, do you think we could do a reasonable amount of attractions? We have one morning/afternoon at MK (a party day) the evening of Veteran's Day, and MVMCP, so I'd like to make this time count. Any advice?

As you've mentioned, that will probably be a little bit busier due to the holiday but we've had great luck with evening EMH. I will say the later you stay the better it gets. We got there around 11:30P one night, started at Pirates and worked our way around only skipping a few rides and we were back around to Main Street by 1:00A. From what I've heard in general, evening EMH seem to be more productive than the morning ones. Hope that helps some!

Right now evening emh's at mk are busy. If that time is as busy as summer you will be waiting for major rides. The other night sm was 55 mins at midnight, sdmt was over an hour, btm was 45. Emh are from midnight to 2 am. By 1:30 they were mostly down to 30 mins.

You can get a lot done, but not all rides are open. Evenings at MK at any time, except during the summer, are not crowded. During the summer, you have families from everywhere due to school vacation, During the rest of the year, its mostly local teens that go to the EMHs at MK. Most families visiting from afar are too tired to keep going into the night. Also a lot of families with young children just cant stay out that late. Its about 1/4 or less of the crowd during the day. Any time we have done it, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving week etc... we literally rode everything with almost no wait at all. My teen boys went on Splash Mountain 7 times in a row, then went to Space Mt. and did that 3 times..no wait at midnight!

We've found that the waits seem to increase significantly right at the start of EMH's. I'm sure this is because a lot of off site guests will flood the standby lines right before midnight trying to catch that last ride of the night. For us, the line died down quickly and lines were very short with many being walk ons.

Wow that doesnt sound good. We are planning on doing evening EMH this coming trip in August. I have read that the lines clear out a lot after the first hour of EMH.

What month did you go?

Yes, I'd think you would be okay and be able to get a decent amount of things done. Evening EMH's are our fave because we can get so much done. It may be a little busier due to the holiday when you are going. But FWIW, I was there last month and had no problems walking onto or having about a ten minute wait at most attractions during EMH's in the evening (and that's almost unheard of in June). Last Sept it was mostly no wait at all on rides in MK at Eve EMH. Have fun!

If you are coming late August it shouldn't be as bad since school has started for many. Right now, you are only walking on a major ride if it's close to closing.

We came the last week of July and the first week of August in '13 and the first week was more busy than the last week of July.

We talked to a few cm's the last day or two and attendance is much heavier now than this time last week. Many groups and travel teams just arrived and you can tell.

Are these posted wait times or actual waits?

Posted wait times are often greatly exaggerated at night.

That's what our experience was last month as well.

This was actual wait times for sm. the posted time was 40 mins but when I timed it we spent 55 from the time we entered to the time we got on the ride. I use to think times were exaggerated but this trip has been completely different. Some of the rides are spot on but a few times the actual wait has been longer. We have been here since last Friday (9days)and most nights we are at a park until midnight or later and not one ride has been less than posted. Now, a few rides have been a few minutes quicker but nothing like past summers when we've gone through 10-20 mins. quicker than posted wait times.

I'm sorry I've tried them several time different times of year. It was more crowded than it was during the day.Maybe I've just been unlucky but we didn't get to many attractions. We had oood time but now I am not interested in trying any more. Wife and I are just two people so many others may have vastly different experiences,

We use them as we are night owls (and so are the kids with our tie difference) but we don't notice the lines shortening (in May) until later into the EMH time as people have said Off siters get into the line just before their closing time and so if the wait for x ride is an hour then that is half the EMH time.
I really wish they would treat EMH more like a hard ticket party and encourage off siters to actually leave the park.

I much prefer the old way they used to do it- sold is as an add on for on site guests and no one was allowed in the park once it started but those with a wrist band. They were 3 hours as I recall. We're still able to do quite a bit, but it could always be better!

Wow. We were there just a few weeks ago and rode Space 4 times in 35 minutes. The posted wait was 40.

It's a long walk in and out of the ride, but a full circuit can be made in 9 minutes when there's no waiting.

Yeah, this trip is definitely not like past summer trips and we just can't quite figure it out. There are a ton of tour groups and quinciera groups. Cm's have said this week is definitely busier. We asked how June was and they said early June was not bad at all. I don't know if it's the new Fp system, just not sure. We have noticed Fp's are not available for main attractions as late in the day as they use too. We've noticed the Fp kiosks are always busy with people getting them. The other day at hs a half an hour after the park opened there were 20 people in line and it was that way until we left at noon. All rnr and tot Fp's were gone before noon.

. Myself and my 8 year old will be at OKW Thanksgiving week and there is one EMH at both HS and MK that week. I would like to try at least one of them if crowds are substantially less. The one at MK is the day before Thanksgiving and can't imagine getting to a park before noon if I don't get to bed before 3:30 AM, so I would have to be convinced that EMH the night before is worth it.

We wont be going at the end of August but in the middle :(
