Does anyone know how much a cab would run for a trip from Sanford Airport to All Star resorts? I just found an UNHEARD of deal for flights ($9.99 each way) but they go into Sanford. We are trying to figure up how much cab fare would run us so we can decide to book that or a rental car (which is gonna cost more than the flights).

Thanks

I believe the cost would be $100 - $150 depending on traffic. Plus that is for one way. RT would be closer to $300. I would rent a car.

Using the Mears Fare Estimator, I looked up the cab fare from Orlando-Sanford Airport to the Magic Kingdom: The trip distance is 46.0 miles each way. The estimated fare is $102.85 each way. (It might be slightly less to the All Stars.) Of course, that's only an estimate, and you need to add the tip. I would plan on around $250 roundtrip, total.

If you don't mind driving a rental car, you can probably save money, depending on the length of your stay. The added bonus is that you would have car to go to off-site restaurants, stores, and attractions.

sadly enough the rental cars are running about that. around $200 is the best i can find w/ compact car from sanford from 2/8-2/12. we paid less than that for a premuim car for 7 days for our august trip. we are trying to plan a last min quick trip and the car is costing more than airfare and the hotel!

We found a cab company in the phonebook, and it was only $60 :confused3

Not sure how we got a good deal, and I didn't realize it was so good until I read these replies.

Another option (over a taxi, at that fare!!), if the OP doesn't want to rent a car, might be a car service. The price might not differ much from the taxi-fare estimate, but it would be an actual price - not an estimate.

I can't tell from the Mears website if they offer bus transportation from Sanford; they don't seem to offer the shuttle.

Thanks for your help I just pulled up thier site and looks like i'll need to call to get a price for the Sanford airport. I am sooo lost on this b/c we always fly into MCO and use DME. Of course that would cost us about $330 more each so I think I'll deal with find a rental car and figuring this out.

You guys have already helped me out so much. The Dis Transportation board rocks!

A note concerning Mears - I called them today and they do not have a shuttle to/from Sanford. Round trip to POP for their car service is $250 plus tip.

Also called Florida Tours, but for the time being are not servicing Sanford due to new permit requirements.

There is a long list of car service companies on the Sanford website, but the far majority are small independent ones and I've no idea how to find out which are reputable.

Good luck!

They are all reputable.

Taxis leaving the Sanford airport will run you close to $130.00 one way. The car service will run you around $180.00 round trip. If you don't rent a car your next best bet would be to hire a car service in advance. You won't go wrong using any of those listed on the site. Actually the only questionable would be STS Sanford Transportation Service. He has a bad pick up record with his company and I would deem him unreliable.

Either you misunderstood him or he misunderstood you on the $60.00 from Sanford to WDW.
