Inspired by another thread, how much are your annual property taxes, & what state do you live in? :confused3

As property values are rising everywhere, residents in my area are up in arms about increased taxes, ours actually seem pretty reasonable, approx $3800/yr for a 5,000 qft home in Mass......

Anyone else???? :scratchin

Ours are $1803 this year in TN.

My parents were only $350 last year in northwest AL.

This year ours was $4,800. Last year we paid $247. but this was also in AL..... :teeth:

Around $3600 for a 3000 sq ft home on 1 1/2 acres. That does not include city taxes. We're not in the city limits (yet).

$8700/year, 4300 sq ft. - Connecticut (Fairfield County)

$10,200 for a 2 family-3 bedrooms downstairs, 2 bedrooms up, full basement-on an oversized(for this area) corner lot.

all of the property taxing entities, about 13k excluding homeowners assoc. which is about 2. Tx, no income tax though.

I'm in Western NY-- (near PA line). Mine are $3200 w/ a village tax. I have a 1300 sqft home on a 65x255 lot.

One of the reasons we plan to move to AL when we retire-property tax rates. Here in South Texas, we pay $2700/yr on 1850 sq ft. Our last home was 3100 sq ft and we payed over $5000/yr. And house insurance way down here is unbelievably high.

We have new construction and it is about 2000 square feet including finished basement. We pay 5400.00 Our lot is not that big though 50x100

$3669 for 2200 sq ft condominum.

We pay $7100.00 for 60 x 100 lot with no garage and basement.

Well I seem to be the winner here. 13K per year for 1/2 acre and 4000 sq ft house, with finished basement.

I'm feeling really really lucky here. $1200 for 1600 sq ft on a 3/4 acre lot in NC. But we hear all the time from people moving here that the reason is the property taxes up north!

We now live if FL (I guess I should have made that clearer) but in AL we hardly paid ANY property taxes. AL has the lowest property tax in the nation. We paid 9% sales tax on EVERYTHING and when we ate out we paid 10% tax.

$5300 ('04-'05 bill) for a 2100 s.f. house with a finished basement on a 1/4 acre lot.

Ouch.

Although I just realized that our rate is not far off of yours. If I double my land and house size (1/4 acre to 1/2 acre and 2100 s.f. to 4200 s.f.) my property taxes would be $10,600. :scared:

Makes me rethink moving to a bigger house with more land!
