How much are you paying?

You're not doing anything "wrong."
But you're going over Thanksgiving.
You're staying 8 nights
You're at a moderate (as opposed to a Value) resort.
You're on the Deluxe dining plan.

Each of those things is significantly raising the price of your trip. Are there, by any chance, any AAA discounts left for that time period? It might be worth it to try.

Thanks for responding :D that is with the AAA discount :( it would be 3798 I think it was rack rate. Just seems so high lol, but no matter we are going no matter what ;)

I am thinking if our inlaws don't go with us like they are supposed to then I might change to the regular dining plan.

8 nights Polynesian GV
Value season with AAA discount
3 adults (me, DH, DS 11), 2 kids (DS 9 and DD 6)
9 day hoppers
Basic dining plan

Just about $5000, not including airfare

We recently returned from a 'wonderful' stay... the kids and I all had the Flu the entire stay and are still fighting it :sad1:

To save the vacation I re-booked the magic (using bounceback promotion before we left):

August 5 nights (inc Fri/Sat nights)
WL 1br Villa
$1435 inc. taxes

no tix/food included in above (upgraded our passes from the 'sick vacation' to APs was about $600 & we will eat most meals in since we'll have the full blown kitchen & plan on returning to the resort every noontime for a break from the heat)

CR - Tower Bay Lake View - checking in 12/5 for 8 night $2907.04. Room only AAA rate. We are AP holders so no tickets.

Poly Garden View
Dec 7 thru Dec 14
8 day passes, hopper and dining
2 adults one 12 one 6 one 2
$3564.
20 % off better than AAA and dreams unlimited price!!!!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

You had to have gotten 40%. I called today with a 20% off code for 2 adults, one 13 year old, one 9 year old and a 3 year old and got a price of $4412 for Poly Garden view 7 day hopper and basic dining for the exact same days. I realize you don't have to pay for the 2 year old, but it's not a $900 difference.

2 adults, 1 child
10 nights AS Movies
Free dining, but upgraded to deluxe for additional 740
One day base pass (we will activate new APs)
Total for room, 1 day ticket, & deluxe dining = 1885.19
Airfare will hopefully be about 660 (or less ::yes:: )

We had to buy new APs for this trip, instead of using our old ones in August & paying OOP for food. So, free dining is "costing" us an additional 600 (1/2price of our dying AP passes, LOL). On the other hand, if we had just used our old APs in Aug & reg DP with no 1 day tickets, it would cost 1563.70. For {321.49 (price diff) + 600 (1/2 AP cost) - 1 day tickets (185?)} about 736, we are getting the deluxe dining upgrade, avoiding the heat & some crowds, getting MNSSHP (due to 2007 rained out party), and Playhouse Disney concerts (hopefully!). Not a bad trade off....

Anybody else going the last week of May through the first full week of June? I want to see what kind of rates they got compared to mine.

Wilderness Lodge Woods View
May 23 - 30
2 adults, 3 kids (6,3,1)
7 day parkhopper
Basic Dinning
$3823.58 AAA

This is painful for me as I have gotten either a general public, AP, or Visa Card room discount for every trip that we have taken over the last 5 years, LOL... This is my 6 year olds first year in school and her last day is 5/21 so we can't change our dates for the AP rate. I was even willing to fly out after she got out of school on the 21st but then they changed the rules so the AP rate would only apply to the night of the 21st. In years past you only had to begin your vacation within the dates for the promo apparently now your entire trip has to fall within the dates to get the discount and that kind of rush is not worth it for 1 nights discount rate. Oh well, I'm still hoping.

We are staying 6-11 Aug in AKL Club Level. Deluxe Dining 6 day park hopper 4300 and change. There was not a AAA rate available for the club level. We were originally booked WL same stuff no club though for 3500 and change.

After tormenting myself for days wondering if I should exchange my AAA room discount for the Visa Rewards WP&M upgrade, I finally decided to call and get a quote. I originally had the following for May 16 - 19:

3 nights preferred room @ ASMo
2 - 4-day park hoppers (1 adult, 1 child)
Total: $850

Called and applied the Visa code and now I have:
3 nights preferred room @ ASMo
2 - 4 day park hoppers w/ wp&m (1 adult, 1 child)
Total: $815.54

I thought we would just buy a separate one day water park tickets for $76 and still come out ahead with the AAA discount. Was I ever wrong!

ours is almost the exact as a PP
We booked
8 nights/ 9 days (we are going Dec 7 to 15)
2 Adults, 2 Children
Coronado Springs Resort
Water View
basic dining plan
7-Day park hopper
$2709 we have a 40% off room (have no clue how we got it we never got a email or post card it was there when we went to ask about prices)
(or we can switch to the animal kingdom to a pool veiw for $3088 we are still on the fence they have put the room on hold for us for a few days to give us a few days to think about it)

Sept. 19th-27th
8 nts
AKL - Pool view
2 adults & 2 girls 7, 9
1 day base
FREE Dining Bounceback
$2398.68

I know I should be happy with Free Dining...but....I would give my eye teeth for 30-40% room.

Well, we "downgraded" a bit at the Wilderness Lodge. We went from a woods view/bunk bed to just a woods view. The savings was over $253.00! Just couldn't justify paying the extra cost for just one child to sleep in a bunk bed.

My kids have bunk beds in their rooms at home and still wanted so badly for me to book bunk beds at WL. I was floored when I saw how much extra they charge for a bunk bed. It makes absolutely no sense to me. I remember when we stayed at AKL you requested a bunk bed and if there was a room with bunk beds available you got it no change in price. I am still shocked that they charge extra for bunk beds:confused3 Someone please enlighten me if you can why are they extra. Sorry I'm rambling but I just can't get over it, LOL...
