How much are you paying?

how did you get free dining?

We were there for Free Dining in Sept. 2007 and
were offered a Bounce Back offer to come back again next year
at the same time.
We had to put a $200.00 deposit before we checked out, for our
next years trip in order to get the BB offer.
That was an easy decision.
Last year in early April my Disney Visa had sent out notice
of this FD offer to card holders, that's how I got the FD last year.
While we were at the Resort not all the Guest were offered the BB
FD offer so I think we were lucky(it came up in casual conversations).

No discounts whatsoever. FIrst time we have ever stayed at one of the resorts. Really hoping to get a discount. Still trying to convince dh I haven't lost my mind spending this much on vacation.

We are going for 8 days in April. Staying at POR.
we have 8 day park hopper/water park option
2 adults and 2 kids (DS6, DD4) Deluxe dining for $3500. Airfare is $1,000 for the 4 of us so with airfare it's $4500.

It was $5100 for the 4 of us($4100 + the $1000 airfare)but we got the discount that just came out for the park hopper package

The price includes insurance (I have a 91yo grandmother and 92yo grandfather) and my mother jinxed me by telling me to get the insurance...last time she told someone to get insurance for a trip was when my Uncle and Aunt were going to Italy and my Nana was sick, they did not get insurance and my Nana passed away the day before their trip.

We are: 1 adult 1 child (4)
At: The Poly
For: Oct 26th-Nov 2nd (7 nights)
With: DxDDP
Price: $3593.24
Saving: $704 off rack rate through TA (no pin code used)

Air will be about $550 but HOPING for a fare decrease in the next few months. I only fly Delta or Continental (not being an airline snob I just have issues lol)

ok what am I doing wrong???? I called AAA got:
2 adults 1 child 5yrs old
Nov 21-29
8 nights at POR
9 day MYW with Hopper
Deluxe Dining for 3500 and some change (no airfare)

Now I know I am not going during value season but this still seems like a lot for a moderate with some of your prices lol. I called Disney no pin code or other discounts for me :(

You're not doing anything "wrong."
But you're going over Thanksgiving.
You're staying 8 nights
You're at a moderate (as opposed to a Value) resort.
You're on the Deluxe dining plan.

Each of those things is significantly raising the price of your trip. Are there, by any chance, any AAA discounts left for that time period? It might be worth it to try.

We got AKL - pool view/bunk beds
from
Aug 10-18
8 day park hoppers - no waterpark
basic dining plan - 2 adults, 2 children, 1 baby

for 3300.00ish
no airfare

Jennifer

8/20/08-8/26/08
2 adults (me and my 13 year old dd)
2 children (my 9 year old twins)
POP preferred room
Magic Your Way Plus dining (6 day Park Hopper and Basic Dining Plan for 7 days)
$2132.85 (30% off code for the rooms)

Air from LGA
$858.08

Grand total
$2990.93

I have to say after looking at all the other price quotes, I don't think I have such a good deal. Why am I paying so much even with my discount?

We just booked:

Aug. 3 - Aug. 15
All Star Sports Standard room
2 Adults, 2 Children, 1 infant
12 nights, 6 day passes
Dining plan

Total: 2893.00 AAA discount

Just made my reservations today for our first trip in 4 years- quite the break for our Disney loving family!

Have been lurking for a few weeks and feeling pretty overwhelmed with the current prices. Loved those years with great discounts! But that changed today when I bit the bullet and made my reservations:

May 9-18 AKL Pool view, no bunkbeds
2 adults, 2 daughters (9 and 12)
Room only with AP discount $1987
Won't quote air as my delay cost me $ and paying too much!

Ran the numbers backwords and forwards and this is the most cost effective approach. Am considering adding the dining plan later once I calculate the cost to see if it is worthwhile. Some of the saving is offset by having to buy an annual pass, but we are still saving when compared to AAA discount or using the free park hopping/ water park upgrade.

Plus, toying with the idea of buying 2 annual passes and then maybe hubby and I can take an early December trip alone. He has never been in December and it's such a great time to visit!

8/20/08-8/26/08
2 adults (me and my 13 year old dd)
2 children (my 9 year old twins)
POP preferred room
Magic Your Way Plus dining (6 day Park Hopper and Basic Dining Plan for 7 days)
$2132.85 (30% off code for the rooms)

Disalways we are going to be at POP at the same time, only we have standard rooms. Here's our deal if you want to call it a deal..........

Aug 16-27
2 adults (me, DH), 2 disney adults(15, 14), 3 children (9,9,9)
POP 2 rooms standard
10 day MYW base tickets
basic dining
$4992.20 (30% off code for the rooms)

We have a few trips booked with our DVC points, but the cash trip listed below was booked with the free dining bb offer last September:

3 adults, one infant age 1 ( extra daily fee for extra adult)
14 nights Pop, Aug 31-Sept 14
Standard Room
One day base tickets pp ( so three one day tickets w/o ph)
Free basic dining
No air
$1686.03

This will be our fourth year with free dining, although this year of course it's no longer "free".

With DVC we have a one bedroom villa, concierge for May 21-26, AKV studio Sept 28-Oct, 3, BCV Studio Oct 31-Nov 4, and OKW grand villa Dec 14-19. I still have some AKL points left that I need to decide whether to use or bank.
We won't be adding the dining plan with the DVC ressies and have AP's, so there won't be any additional costs for those trips other than for meals OOP.
Kathy

9 nights/10 Days
5/12/08-5/21/08
Port Orleans Riverside
3 adults (had to pay extra fee)
AP Dining Package
$2543.58
Plus $882 for 2 AP's(Myself and My mother) and $280 for a 10 day pass for my Grandma.

So Roughly $3800 for the whole thing. Airfare was free due to credits we had to use up on SWA.

Hey, you stole my thread :rotfl: My thread was always on the 1st or second page..but no worries..now we have two..

tripletots, don't you think you are getting a better price than I am? Considering the amount of people you have, it seems that you are indeed getting a better deal, no? You have more people (2 more adults and 1 child more) , 3 more days... I do have a preferred room and park hoppers... maybe I should change that in my reservation, and go to standard and basic tickets.

And go you, tripletots! You have one more nine year old then me! :goodvibes And one more teen than me! :scared: lol

I'm impressed by some of the deals you all have gotten. I thought we were doing pretty good by taking advantage of the Visa package discount that was offered last December, but now I'm thinking I could've done even better if I had tried. Here's what we've got:

8 nights/ 9 days
2 Adults, 2 Children
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
1 Room
Standard View
2 Double Beds
Non-Smoking Room
DDP
7-Day MYW w/ free upgrade to Waterpark Fun & More
$3,125.00 (w/o discount pkg, would've been $3,755.00)

We are at Pop from March 28th through April 6th. We booked a preferred room on the nights of March 28th and 29th using a AAA discount. Room will be $116/night before tax each of those nights. March 30th through April 5th, our standard room will be $74/night before tax and $84/night for the following Friday and Saturday nights. We already have our passes, so no expenses there. Since we had WAY too many TS meals with our very impatient 3 children during our Christmas trip AND we'll be returning with our extended family in May, we have no desire for the "pleasure" of any TS meals this trip. Instead, we'll be maximizing the use of our DDE card at such restaurants as the CS restaurants at Pop and AK. Other than the gas to get there, this will be a fairly cheap trip.
