How much are you paying for your child's braces?

Braces for my older DS are $5250. Younger DS is due to get his braces, and I have an appointment next week to go over his plan, as well as cost. I am assuming his price will about the same. Our insurance covers $1000 of the expense.

One thing to consider about the phases is that sometimes they can help. My 12yo DD right now has a spacer so that when her last molars come out the space will remain until they can put her braces on. From what they said this is the easiest way to make some space but the timing has to be just right. We had to call to make an appointment when her teeth were loose. Another good part is that it was covered 100% by the insurance.

Her ortho is planning on doing all the braces at the same time.
