How much are you interested in the GCV?

Where does your interest rank for the GCV?

  • I'll add on a small amount of points (25-50). Enough for a trip every few years.

  • I plan to add on 75-100 points or more.

  • I might go there but won't add-on any GCV points.

  • GCV doesn't interest me at all.

  • I'm not a DVC member yet, but plan on buying points for the GCV.

I really like DL (been there twice), but we won't buy any more points. In fact, we are starting to sell some of our points (two contract in ROFR right now, leaving us with three). I would love to be able to go to DL every so often for a few days, but we'd have to justify the airfare.

I voted "I might go there but won't add-on any GCV points."

Although I think that GCV will be great and the points will probably "hold their value" like BCV and VWL the other two smaller resorts, my heart still belongs to the Contemporary. I have enough money set aside for only one new resort :(.

If it's available the next time I go to Disneyland, I would consider staying there. However, for us staying on-site at Disneyland does not have the same draw as staying on-site at Walt Disney World. There are plenty of very nice and *CHEAP* off-site hotels nearby. I can never bring myself to pay 2-4 times more for a Disneyland resort over someplace off-site while I wouldn't consider staying off-site at WDW! Go figure. :confused3

...We own a Marriott in Palm Desert, and we have to pay the property taxes directly to the state of California, twice a year. State taxes are not included in part of the Marriott's timeshare's dues. Don't know if it will be the same for GCV.

Wonder if that's a California thing, and DVC owners will have to pay California property taxes directly to California, and not as part of their dues.

We also own in Palm Desert and having each owner pay is a great way to over assess a timeshare. It is too cumbersome for an individual absentee owner to challenge the assessment.

I voted for the third option (may visit...). Since I have never been to Disneyland, I wouldn't want to buy in until after I have visited the parks. However, I definitely want to visit DL. So, hopefully there will be units at the 7 month mark!

Because we go to DL all the time we couildnot wait for them to add DVC and planned on buying first day...however know that Hawaii is on the Mark were not sure what we want to do. because the Hawaii resort will be so big the chances of getting in at the 7 mo. mark sould be dueable...

But getting in at DL at the 7 mo will be tough so we will have to really think of where to get points.

If we get another 100 or more...we have 400 know that will give us 600 and we can use thoses anywhere at the 7 mo. 9 at SSR.

What would you do?

I'll be adding 100 points or more at GC. We go to DL more often then WDW. Hawaii is just a bonus.

We won't buy there, but DH has business in Anaheim once every year or two...so this will allow it to be a working vacation for him (and just a vacation for the rest of us!). This will be a great opportunity for us.

We just got back from DLR, and spoke to a few DVC CM's at the various kiosks, and all mentioned that there is a huge interest in the GC DVC. Lots of tours of the DVC model at DLR. They all predicted a fast sell out.

Is there a GC DVC model to tour?
Not as of 9/30. The model is a 2BR lockout of SSR.

I voted, "I might go there but won't add-on any GCV points." as the closest option. As a SoCAL resident, I hope to visit GCV often - provided the nightly point tables are similar to DVC Orlando resorts. I'm very interested to watch how DVC interprets the "seasons" when my other timeshares assume that most of SoCAL is "red year round" (one season, always "high demand").

We don't plan to add-on points at GCV ... but knowing that GCV was "official" played favorably in our most recent decision add-on at our (one/only) DVC home resort. We look forward to using our points throughout the DVC resort collection.

It is SSR decor, but will be remodeled to look like AKV.

Just curious as to your source on this. I had heard they would be for GCH. In fact the permits were pulled the same day, by the same contractor who is building the GCH for Disney according to the Anaheim website?

I was told the same thing by a DVC salesperson when I was at DLR the weekend after the GCV announcement. The salesperson said they "just found out" that the remodel was going to be AKV. She said they had not been told if there were even going to have a GCV model to show.

I voted that it doesnt interest me at all. I dont mean that in a bad way, but for us it is much easier to take a 2 1/2 hour plane ride to Florida - than the long trip from NY to California.

We may go someday, as I would like to visit the original park. But with Orlando having all 4 parks, and an easier trip, that will be the bulk of our vacations. I am sure it will be a nice resort

I was chatting with a DVC CM at the resort this past weekend, and specifically asked what decor was going into the models. AKV was the answer. I asked why no GC model, and the CM said they will have a GC model room at the hotel.

I'm very tempted to buy points at GCV. DH and I honeymooned there, so it holds a special place in our hearts. We currently have 225 points, so I might do a 25 or 50 point add on in the future, but it really depends on what the dues are going to be and how much cash flow I have at the time.

We've been wanting to go to DL for a while now, so having the GCV will be a great bonus to us. We wouldn't add on as our current contract more than meets our needs, but it's a great option.

I am local to DL, so I am thinking of adding a small contract, so I can stay for my birthday or if family/friends are in town and want to spend a day or two there. It would only be 25-40 points I am guessing.

Did the CM indicate when the GCV model be available for viewing? I'm dying to see it but since GCV will not be completed for two more years I'm thinking it will be awhile.
