I wasn't sure if its been posted, but I thought it might be a good way to contribute, since there doesn't seem to be any info on this board for DL newbies or anyone that may not be familiar with how exactly maxpass works. On the two trips I've taken to WDW I've heard guests and CM's trash talking DL because of the new maxpass system without really knowing how it works. Granted I do like Fastpass+ better, but there's no reason to downplay the strengths of maxpass
1. You are allowed to have more than 1 fastpass at any given time.
contrary to what I've heard from some guests at both DL and WDW, you are completely allowed to have multiple fastpasses. The way it works is after you make a fastpass you are then given a time of when you are allowed to make another. The time you are allowed to make another is when your next fastpass begins, within half an hour if your first fastpass is made at the same time (ie. it is 10:05, and your first fastpass made is open at 10:05) , or within two hours if your first fastpass is way later in the day. Doing this I've had up to 3 fastpasses at the same time (current one, one after current fastpass time ends, and one in the afternoon)
2. Physical Fastpass allotments, and maxpass allotments are different!
Fastpass times for physical FP's and maxpass FP's are actually on different systems. Sometimes physical FP's at the kiosk will have a return time of 2-3 hours from now, while maxpass sometimes has FP's that has a current return time. This isn't always the case but it does happen from time to time.
3. Nightime shows and Fastpasses are not connected.
I was surprised by how many CM's and guest at WDW thought it worked like WDW. You still have to go and get a physical FP for nighttime shows (world of color, fantasmic) that are not connected to the regular FP system. This is the same whether you get Maxpass or not.
4. You can make FastPasses in both parks from either park
again, surprised by the misinformation I heard at WDW. While using Maxpass you can make fastpasses for CA while in DL and vice versa.
That's all I can think of for now! Hope it helps somebody and clears up some of the confusion
