How many trips do you take per year?

Depends on the year. This year, it will be 7 or 8 by year's end but those are mostly short driving trips and college visits. Some years it is only 1 or 2, because we're taking longer trips or going to destinations that require flying.

We go to WDW twice. I also take my daughter to NYC or DC for a long weekend at least once per year, as well as flying to West Palm Beach to visit our aunt in Jupiter for 2-3 long weekends each year.

We usually go to WDW twice a year (thanks to DVC) and maybe every other year we take a cruise. Next year is a big one. To celebrate our 40th anniversary we're taking a 12-day cruise around the British Isles.

I had 74 segments on American Airlines last year. Of course, that is all work travel.
We haven't done a Disney trip since 2011. Not coincidentally, DW became disabled in 2012.
We've done a few 3 or 4 day trips to the beach and DW and I went to NYC for a few days in 2015 to see U2 and Wicked.
But we haven't done a real vacation trip for a long time. With DW's health issues and our oldest DD starting college last year, it's a challenge.
We really want to get back to WDW as soon as schedules and finances allow. Our youngest was born in 2008, so he's only been once, in 2011. We're sad that he doesn't remember it. Especially since our older kids have been there multiple times.

I totally forgot about our cruise in 2013. That was our last big vacation. We did a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on the Norwegian Epic with our family of 7 plus my mom and sister. Taking another cruise is definitely on our to do list. Turns out that activities that involve being in the water are much more tolerable for DW than anything that involves standing or sitting for long periods of time. But getting the kids back to WDW is higher priority than a cruise.

OP here, yes I meant all trips (not just the Disney ones). And weekend getaways count.

Including weekend getaways, we typically add a couple of those to our one 7-12 day trip.

Most years around October, spend a family weekend in Springfield, MO. We'll go to the zoo to feed the giraffes, Bass Pro, a couple restaurants we like, and we try to stay at a place with an indoor pool.

DW & I usually take a weekend or two to ourselves at Lake of The Ozarks - typically off season, but we've done Summer too.

We USED to take an annual trip to Nashville over MLK weekend for a convention that I attended, but I haven't gone in several years.

2016 was a little unusual in that we didn't take ANY weekend trips of any kind. Not sure what 2017 will bring. Have one night booked at Lake of The Ozarks in May, but plan to take the kids if we keep the reservation.

Disney trips: one every 5-10 years now (used to be more often).

Regular big vacations of a week or longer: Usually 2 as we like to get away for 2-3 weeks in the winter (January) for a Florida trip and/or cruise, or a cabin rental in the Smokies, then we like to take a 1-2 week trip with our truck camper in the spring/fall.

We also take 1 or 2 long weekend trips locally.

We do one summer vacation for two or three weeks. Then, we do several 5 day weekends (2 or 3 days off) to drive to visit family 400 miles away. We used to do other weekend getaways too, but those are getting swallowed up by the family trips due necessity of visiting more often.

We take one 7-10 day family vacation a year. We also do 1-2 long weekends a year as well - somewhere within driving distance.

Yet again I'm left wondering what profession a lot of the Dissers have that allow them to take so many/such long vacations (in regards to cost and time off work).

Big trips, as in longer than 4 days = 0 per year. We do Disney for ~8 days every 2 years. As for smaller, less than 4 day trips per year, probably 5-6. We have an RV and so we camp about 4 times a summer for about 4 days. We also go to Six Flags (about 3 hours away) twice a year, once in early summer and once in October.

Editing to answer the question of occupation, I work at a local University, so I get summer/winter breaks off, and taking a random Friday off is easy as well. DH is an electrician, time off is harder for him. He doesn't get vacation days, if he doesn't work, he doesn't paid. We just have to plan accordingly. And, our children are still in elementary school so missing a day here or there is easy right now.

2-3 family trips a year

We usually fly to Florida for a week over one of the school breaks, and spend a week visiting family in New York in the summer. (We can drive from here.)

We do occasionally add in a long weekend somewhere else - different places, but also close enough to drive.

DH travels a few times a year for work as well.

Usually, 1-2 trips per year. (We only go to Disney about every 4th year.) Usually about a week at a time. It's hard to take much more time off than that at one time.

We usually take a week-long summer vacation. On alternate years, we do something for spring break. This year, we did spring break and are doing two summer trips. This is unusual for us, but I am very excited.

Two of our trips this year are to regular places (that we have visited before). The third is out west to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. I've visited Yellowstone before, but not as an adult. And I've never visited Glacier. This vacation is "all me. " (That is. I'm the one planning it and the one who is excited about it. He has reluctantly agreed to go. But once we are there, he will enjoy it and want to go back. That's the thing with him. He likes going the same places because they are familiar to him. But once he visits a new place, that becomes a familiar place, so it's "on the list" for places he likes to visit.) Our oldest will be off to college in a couple of years, and I want the kids to see the country before they're off on their own. I'm running out of years, so ... It's happening.

ETA: DH works for a fortune 500 company. He has 4 weeks of PTO but that's combined vacation and sick time. This year, we're banking that he won't get sick. He usually saves 2 weeks and does a "staycation" in December. This year, he's only saving one week. I work hourly. Like a previous poster said, I don't get paid when I don't work, but I don't have a cap on how much time I can take (within reason).

I take probably 3-4 true multi day out of state/country vacations, some or all maybe Disney.

If you count overnight instate events probably 3-4 more.

If you count my nephews National basketball team travel. I try to hit 2-3 a year but honestly I mostly see the inside of various gyms and MAYBE do 1 touristy thing (besides various eating experiences) So you might or might not count them.

Total 9-12

Library Management

I get a fair amont of paid vacation as I have a generous employer and a lot of years with the same system.

I am exempt so I do sometimes work over 40 per week but I also have some flexibility in my workweek due to being part of a management team so I can manipulate my schedule for 1-2 night trips and not use AVL.

I'm an independent risk consultant. I'm a subject matter expert in anti-money laundering specializing in North American-EU cross border and multinational issues. I consult with the big financial houses or the big consultancies, where I started my career. Its a ton of travel, so I regularly take off months in between engagements. Its nbd, as my hourly certainly allows me the ability to do so. OTOH, I was at home for 2 nights all of last May. April, June and July I think were 3-4 days each, but some of that, was personal travel, WDW, Napa, a stay over in London. A lot of people that do similar things take time off between projects. I don't think its unusual at all.
