How many trips do you take per year?

As far as Disney? We go about every 3 years. That's a good schedule for us. Other trips, I guess it depends if you categorize a trip as at least a night away. We do lots and lots of those. We live in Central Maryland the beach is 2 hours and the mountains are 3 hours. DH and I are fortunate that my parents have a cabin in the mountains and his parents have a house at the beach. DH also works halfway to his parents beach house so it's not unusual in the summer for him to go there right after work on Friday night, fish all day on Saturday and come home Saturday night or Sunday morning. We have set trips that we go on every year, an adults only trip with our friends to the cabin, 4th of July at the beach... but we also tend to decide last minute to go to either of those places if our schedule looks good for a long weekend.
Besides those random trips, I have a girls weekend in June for a concert, a family trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame and maybe a trip to Nashville to visit my cousin. We like to get out a lot. Doesn't have to be expensive we just like to mix things up.

Based on your other posts, I'm guessing you actually mean any trip. I'd say maybe half a dozen. Maybe one or two bigger ones (a week or more) and the rest long weekend. I'm very lucky in that I don't get paid vacation, but I also don't have a cap on how many days off I can take. Usually summers are blacked out (no vacation allowed) but then in the offseason, I can take off nearly a month at a time if I wanted.

1-3 X per year to WDW, maybe another couple of weekend type trips for a concert or to visit friends.

Usually just one longer (10-14 days) vacation per year, plus several (2 or 3) shorter trips (3 days or less).

Some years two longer vacations, but they're about 7 to 10 days.

Probably 3-4 per year vacation wise. Not as many as you FinFan!!!
lol...I think you misread my post . We take *a* (as in one) 10-12 day long trip every 1-2 years...not 10-12 trips a year! You get to enjoy 3-4 trips?..cool!

We save up for one big DL trip per year. That has been our vacation spot. This isn't counting day trips or a rare overnight. My kid and I went to Maui last year instead of DL, so it will be 2 looong years w/out a Mouse Fix. I don't know what we'd do if we get tired of DL because my husband doesn't fly, and he tends to be very wary of new experiences.

We do one or two Major vacations per year, with about 6-7 long weekends (with day trips), and usually 3-4 extra-long weekends (with overnight stays).

Last year we did two very expensive Major vacations, so this year we're only doing one semi-Major vacation to give the pocketbook some time to recharge.

We just started vacations a couple years ago (seeing the happy light at the end of the tunnel after preschool ends and before/after school care start winding down). It's been one week-long trip somewhere.

Once we can cut out school age before/after care, we'll do 2 week-long trips a year, coinciding with the spring and winter school breaks, or 1 two-weeker in the summers, along with one or two long weekend trips to see family out of state (these would be by myself or with just the kids if I can do them over holiday weekends).

Depends. I always make about 3 or 4 racing weekend trips per year. If we have a WDW AP, then add in 5 or 6 trips there.

We travel a good amount. This year we will take two 3-4 day trips to SC to visit the in-laws, we're going to Orlando for a week, traveling to Hawaii for 16 days in August, going to Toronto for Thanksgiving week, and probably somewhere else around Christmas. That's not counting weekend trips. My family prioritizes travel over a lot of other things, so we are always on the go!

We do the same.

I'm sorry I meant to direct that at the OP!!! He has has lots of adventures he talks about like skydiving, going to different continents; etc...
I do like the idea though of doing one really long vacation. Then I could really unplug from reality!!! Lol!

Usually zero right now with kid in college. We did go on 2 trips last yr. We combined a medical trip to Mayo AZ with a road trip vacation.

This yr we would like to do a bit of traveling to see family.

Disney has priced us out of the market for now.

Typically two. One is week long "big" trip. Disney World, cruise, beach, etc... usually on Fall break in October.

The other is a shorter trip in June... Lake Michigan, St. Louis, Gatlinburg... something like that.

Contrary to the other thread where I was scolded about how Americans can't afford to take (or don't prioritize) trips longer than a week about 7 -8 posters have already mentioned taking vacations over 7 days. Interesting.

We usually do one bigger trip in the winter - WDW, cruise, etc that is 7-12 days long. And then something cheaper in the summer that is often a road trip. This year we just did a weekend getaway and are doing a long, more expensive road trip in the summer to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.
Now that the oldest is in high school it's harder for us to do longer winter vacations so the next couple years maybe more summer trips.

Um, it depends on what you are calling a trip? Week long vacation? One. Another weekend or two camping. Maybe a day trip here or there.

A lot of it depends on where people work, how much vacation they are given and how much they can take at once. In my old job, I had close to 6 weeks of pto, so it was easy to take 2 or 3 longer vacations. My longest vacation was a 3 week road trip before kids. It was common for people especially those from other countries to take 4 weeks off to go and visit their family. Current job? Not so much.
Airfare is pricey too especially with a family. I'm flying home to visit family with me and the kids and it's around 800 for the 3 of us. We opted to cruise again this summer and are driving to the port. The airfare was half the amount of the cruise itself.

Depends. We haven't been in over 2 years now. We did go to Universal 18 months ago.

But now that our schedules have changed, it is much harder to go. I am working full time (teacher) and the kids are all in school with different schedules (K-12 different from college student), so we are left with summer as the only option.

This coming summer we are going to CA and may hit Disneyland, but we aren't sure we will have time. The boys would like to go to Disney World one more time before we move to CA in 2018, but I am not sure if or when that could happen.
